We absolutely loved our stay at the Pallazo - the food, the room, the facilities were all wonderful. And its great for families. However, a special mention to all the staff of the hotel: they are exceptionally helpful, friendly and courteous. Management of the hotel should be applauded. Well definitely be back soon.

Mediterranean style spacious roomsPenthouse is amazing featuring 3 ensuite b/rooms, big lounge area, 12seater dining table, kitchenette, balconies , separate terrace entertainment area. Whilst the staff are mostly friendly, the service at this hotel is bad.

It feels like you’re in Italy when you’re walking around the hotel. The bar has some lovely South African snacks as well as drinks. The pool deck is amazing, lovely to chill there when it’s nice and warm

The views make it hard to believe that youre still in Jhb and not in Italy. The views are breathtaking. Beautiful during the day for taking Beautiful pictures. The service is friendly & professional. Definitely recommend for anything from a lunch date to a family brunch or a high tea. Prices are expensive as expected with hotel restaurants but food is good. Must visit when in Jhb around the Fourways area.

Great hotel, rooms are maybe a bit dated but well maintained in general. The brealfast was really great. Conceniently located next to Montecasino.

Goes without saying that this is one of the best hotels in Johannesburg but this time around we spent the evening with our families at the restaurant after we got engaged and we had a great time. I couldnt have chosen a better place to celebrate with loved ones as this just had an amazing setting where we sat outside and the food and drinks were great. Will forever be in my memory.

I loved the service starting from the reception when I checked in, to house keeping team who made sure that we had fresh towels. Made my birthday extremely pleasant and quite enjoyable. Overall experience was OTT. Thank you.

My daughter gave me a high tea party for 8 friends in a semi private dining area overlooking the garden, to celebrate my 80th birthday. The delicious fare and colourful table settings made it a very festive occasion. Service from all the staff was helpful and friendly.

Very smart very upper class. 5 star treatment. Staff very friendly. We stayed there for Easter weekend, they had special easter egg hunts for the kids. Service was superb, and the hotel is very beautiful. Love that that shampoo and soap in the bathroom is vegan friendly Charlotte Rhys

Firstly Ive got to give it out for the beauty. This place is so classy and elegant. The staff is friendly and professional. The food is out of this world. The view is amazing, I truly enjoyed my time there.

The hotel is average for being a 5 star hotel. We didnt have any issues at all, we had a nice stay, but our shower was ice cold and our tub leaked. Other than that - I wasnt crazy about the style of the rooms or the decor. But still a good hotel with friendly staff.

Beautiful hotel. The staff is very friendly, management comes across as a bit stiff. But that is just me living in our modern times where the whole concept of the singular royal treatment of oneself as a business magnate is diminishing in a world where we have to face our social shortcomings together.The food is excellent and well prepared, and then presented to you in an exquisitely delicate manner.You still have the hustle and bustle of Johannesburg around you, and it detracts from the quaintness in the presented surroundings of the Hotel.I felt relaxed, but yet still reminded of the traffic, crime, and business of Johannesburg.

It was busy this weekend. Great service.Breakfast area was super busy and feels crowded during COViD-19 times.Overall good space, neat rooms.Early morning can get noisy if your room is next to garden, breakfast area.Great memories there - unforgettable...

High Tea at the Palazzo was disappointing. We paid in advance for 8 people, but only 6 arrived. 2 plates were Banting (no carbs) the chef didnt know what this was and gluten free was to be served. The Banting plate arrived over an hour after the regular food was served. The regular food was good, but all the sandwiches were dry with very little filling.

We were welcomed by both reception and porter very excitedly. Staff are very friendly and efficient. We had a booked a double family room which consisted of 2 double beds. The room has an expresso machine. TV was ancient and the room itself was not big enough for movement. Nice and neat though although shower walls had mould. Suggestion would be to bring your own pillows. Pool is 5 star. Immaculate with staff eager to serve. Gardens, breakfast, lounges was pleasant. The casino is a haven of entertainment. We dont gamble but spent 4 days at the casino playing games, movies, shopping, bird park, theater, bowling. Had a great time.

It’s a nice place to hang out with friends when it’s very hot in Johannesburg. It has the best atmosphere and it has nature kind like vibe. We didn’t have reservations but luckily we got the table of 5 people.everything was fine and normal standard nothing really wow.I had eggplant what what meal.it was not what I was expecting but I completely understand that it won’t taste the same like I was in Italy.I will recommended the place to my international friends

Great place.. one issue. Since room service was cut off at 10pm, I couldnt get cold water on site and had to go to the garage... I found that the in room fridge couldnt be cool enough and nor the air-conditioning... but other wise. An awesome place..

Great hotel, but I could not sleep well due to a blowing noise just by the door, it went on all night.

High tea with the ladies never felt so luxurious... loved the experience and the space provided to us at the restaurant due to social distancing. All necessary covid protocols were followed on entering the hotel... which i appreciated being in my 3rd trimester of pregnancy.The high tea menu was altered to accommodate my pregnancy restrictions, which I appreciated soooo much more.The friendly and helpful staff as well as the exquisite tea variety made me wanting moreCant wait for the next booking 😊

Very lovely hotel, we had small issues with room , the manager on duty Nakeel sorted it out efficiently. All staff were friendly, lovely gardens & spa @ poolside was great.Was celebrating my wifes birthday & hotel went out of way to make sure we had a lovely weekend.

I e of the best hotels in Johannesburg. Whether it is business or leisure, it is an amazing place to stay and enjoy the multitude of amenities.

A vibrant complex filled with an array of shops, restaurants and a casino. Cinema is also attached as well as an arcade and laser quest. Ten pin bowling alley located inside as well. Plenty to choose from and something for everyone! Highly Recommend the Dark Carnival store if you are a geek like me!

Wonderful looking hotel, unfortunately only made use of the bar at the entrance. Nice cold beer, good service and a lekker biltong platter.

The Palazzo Montecasino always strives to deliver the best experience and service. Even during the lockdowns and associated protocols. Food was good, customer service good too. Only small issues which is understandable during this time. The Texan restuarant was truly fabulous, best steaks I and the table have had for some time. Perfectly prepared. Bowling was also enjoyable across the way at Montecasino

Excellent service and attention to detail. Beautiful, tranquil garden setting. Best place for a staycation. Lelu from concierge was absolutely brilliant.

The staff sent us to two rooms before we finally settled in. The first room was being repaired for what seems to be a water leak. The second rooms plugs werent working. However, despite these two unfortunate occurances - once we settled in the stay was warm and lovely. Their breakfasts were amazing and the scenery surrounding the restaurant was refreshing to be in.

Beautiful Building, great food but staff were a little unfriendly towards customers, and I left with many bedbug bites which leaves me wondering how clean the rooms really are, especially during the pandemic. Overall a great experience.

We had a lovely stay. Friendly staff and a great room with a beautiful view. Great location.The shower drain was a bit blocked which caused the water to flow onto the bathroom floor.We were very happy to see vegan options on the breakfast menu. My husband ordered rooibos tea with his breakfast since he cant have caffeine at all and was served caffeinated tea. The restaurant manager did apologise for that.We waited about 20+ minutes for someone to collect our bags at check-out.Overall, we had a pleasant stay.

Staff were professional, gym was well equipped, beautiful pool, our room was well maintained and clean , covid protocols well enforced, should consider installing Smart TVs.

Had my bridal shower hightea hosted there, beautiful setting, breathtaking setting but what let it down was the slow service and the waitress that was not well versed on the hightea menu and gave the wrong information which made the host feel a bit uncomfortable.

This place is excellent bar none.

This upscale Mediterranean-style hotel in the Montecasino Entertainment Complex is 9.6 km from the Coca-Cola Dome and a 2-minute walk from Bird Gardens.

We were really sad to be disappointed by this place. We were upgraded to this Hotel because the other one we originally booked was closed. My hubby and I were really looking forward to staying. When we walked in, we fell in love with the ambiance, decor, the pool, and the gardens. Sadly, that was all we really loved about the place. The rooms are a dated. Our A/C also didn’t work properly even after someone came to fix it. We didn’t sleep well while we were there. The last night they offered to switch rooms, which we took them up on. We stayed in a standard room. The breakfast was flavorless and subpar for a five start hotel. On top of that, my husband found a small piece of metal in his beans. The lack of customer service and effort to remedy the issue was mind blowing. All they offered was another bowl of beans. To really add the cherry on top, a staff member ask that we not take photos in the gardens. We were just shooting images on a camera and tripod. We are traveling full time and like to document our experiences. We made sure other guests weren’t around so we didn’t capture them. The manager stated that we would have to get special permission to take photos. It’s literally like shooting on a phone but just with a nice camera. We did not by any means have a lot of equipment. Anyway, this is why we’ve left 1 star. Our overall experience, lack of customer service, subpar food really left us stressed and ready to leave. The staff are not friendly at all. We are well-travelled and I was quite amazed that the staff at Palazzo will seldom greet you first. We always had to greet first. The only exception was Lindo working at the restaurant that went out of his way to make us feel welcome.I have informed the hotel that we will be celebrating our anniversary, but nobody even mentioned it. Two years ago we celebrated our anniversary at the Southern Sun Maputo (which forms part of the Tsogo Sun group) and we received a cake for our anniversary. I might be wrong, but the hotel in Maputo is not even a 5 star hotel like Palazzo.The service we received at previous visits to Sun Square is much better than the service at the Palazzo.Overall a disappointing experience.

Profesional, very friend staff and waitress. V. Covid compliant. Attended my daughters high tea. Seating on Deck facing immaculate gardens koi pond. Very well organised from decor, food (oh my every single bite was scrumptious, delicious, fresh). We were given choice of a variety of diff. tea/ coffee/ hot choc.- in individual little pots. Perfect Bridal Shower - very memorable Day. We loved it so much. Everyone is still talking about the great experience!

This hotel comes highly recommended and provides luxury at an affordable price. Dinner and breakfast is always top notch and comes with the 5-star treatment. If weather permits, have breakfast on the verandah overlooking the beautiful landscaped gardens and Khoi pond.
