As a wedding venue, they are limited to smaller numbers and dont allow dancing during covid. Also Im not keen on driving in golf carts at breakneck speed. I found it a bit noisy as you can hear the cars on the main road in some parts of the venue. Many people would love it there, it has a certain beauty and charm, I just didnt fall in love with the place.

Attended the most amazing 21st celebration at the Cellar Door, Flames Restaurant! The view is outstanding, the staff are well trained and super attentive but the food, oh the food! Easily the best meal Ive ever eaten. We had a four course set menu with two choices per course. Springbok carpaccio, truffle gnocchi, Norwegian salmon and a strawberries and cream dessert. The only disappointment was the biscuit/cake base at the bottom of my dessert, a bit tastless but that probably had to do with my overworked taste buds.

The ambience is amazing and the staff is very helpful and cheerful, especially Lucky. The DJ and music added a very amazing vibe to it all. The food wasnt as great, but the pork belly was the best selection of it all. The cocktails are amazing and the complimentary champagne we got was a cherry on top. Will definitely come back. 😊😊

I booked the early weekend brunch this Saturday and the service at the restaurant was appalling. Only one waiter assigned to serve a table of more than twenty people turned out to be a disaster. The people I had invited were either begging for their starters to be served or begging for their drinks to be served. Almost two hours into the brunch and we still had not been served our mains. Some of the main course meals were not prepared as per the menu. After mains we waited 20 minutes for our beers. The waiter plonked the beers onto the table without beer glasses and without even opening up the bottles for us. How are we supposed to open a bottle of beer that isn’t a twist of cap. Seriously wonder why this place is rated so high, I’ve had 10 times better service at Wimpey. The food was delicious but I will be reluctant to book here again.

My husband says 4 star but I would say 3 stars.We only ate at the restaurant and I am being very critical. At the best I am not fond of meat and when I order it as to be exceptional. We ordered the rib eye and it was cold and tough. The asparagus salad was absolutely perfect and the side spinach was delicious. For the rest it was average. For the extra price tag expectations was a lot higher than what was delivered.

When celebrating a birthday ... especially in the second half of life ... one likes to make an effort for your Loved Lady.Let me say that the food was exceptional ... both the Roast chicken supreme and the Carbanara pasta ...The view has not changed in years ... but there is nothing that can be done about that.Or indeed should be done about that!!!The front desk at Flames was very obliging and accommodating ... thank you Nadene.The table ... the chairs ... Were just no where near 5 star.The chairs rocked ... they were too low ... making the table too high. It was an uncomfortable disaster ... especially as I had to sort it out to be able to at least try to salvage the rest of the evening ... especially at those prices.The port arrived in sticky glasses too ...With time ticking fast towards the curfew, I had to actually make a fuss to get service, so our order could be prepared without us just scoffing it down in a rush.And that was just the beginning of the lack of attention to detail by the staff ...I expected more from the total experience ...But we did call for the chef to thank and compliment him ...I am sure these things can be fixed in a single table testing and staff training ...So dont let me put you off ... I will go back ... but only after a reccie to test some things are up-to-the-expectation.

Beautiful view. But thats all. A Protea Hotel look alike, on the most magnificent piece of real estate in S.A. which used to be the Panorama at Westcliff. Now Steers Take Away at the Protea Group Four Seasons. But still worth a visit if you are not looking for class.

Such a beautiful place. Works well in the summer when all youre focused on is the views. When its over cast its a bit chilly and the seating allocation can be wierd unless youre right inside where is softly lit and warmer.. Food is wonderful.

Always a great little spot for a drink (Flames Restaurant). Views over the Johannesburg zoo as well as most of Johannesburg itself. Good non-alcoholic drinks menu (covid restrictions on alcohol). Food is great too. Definitely a summer cocktail favourite.

Fantastic view. Food is in general good. We like the octopus and went there to have once again Octopus. Sushi was very moderate quality. Service is good but have a look where and what to reserve as it is a bit complicated
