It is a nice environment for exercising. The gym has everything needed for exercising, in my opinion. The staffs are friendly, at least the ones that i know.

I understand that the gym closes at 15h00 on weekends but to switch off the lights while there are still members changing in the change rooms is totally unacceptable! Why not make an announcement to members 45 minutes before closing and again 10 minutes before and 5 minutes to closure? I was one of the members who had to dress up in the dark because the staff wanted to leave. People have traumers, fears and phobias and can get triggered by darkness - where is the consideration?? I felt rushed and very upset by the action of switching off the lights while still in the facility. Gym gets addictive so an announcement will do best not what happened today. Never!

Service is actually really top tier. Gym has all the equipment youd need for the price you are paying. Not Virgin Active but up there. Well done... highly recommend.

I have recently received THE WORST customer service from a Zone Fitness employee I have ever received in my life. Not only did she take several days to reply to my email, she also addressed me as her familiar and passed judgment about myself within her emails and addressed me Im a degrading manner.I am now receiving no response anywhere, not on Facebook, despite a friend receiving a private message withing a few hours, not Instagram, not by phone and not by email.

Nevermind the nonexistent upgrades and new installments - the maintenance is lacking heavy. yes its affordable, but if you have the means take your money elsewhere... i honestly dont recommend. if youre in my position and do not have the means, take the little youll get. This is from a place of honesty, been here for 3 years...

The gym is very chilled I love the setup it has enough equipment and room never really have to be in anyones way.

I wouldnt recommend Zone Fitness because its competitors have WiFi and sufficient equipment for their clients... Besides that the staff is not invested in a customer relationship ...

Great place, sanitizer is provided at the entrance and inside, but if you will rely on sanitizer that people provide as an adult at this day and time, then clearly you are not serious about your health. Super clean, they can do with more equipment but other than that, I love it.

Everyone friendly and helpful instructors are knowledgeable and always makes time to assist everyone.It does get very full sometime but Saturday and Sunday morning are perfect.

Definitely wouldnt recommend a friend here.Covid-19 protocols are poorly enforced.Sometimes you can walk in without being sanitized or scanned for temperature.Also recently been accused of working over the 1hr30min exercise time they give drivers which I already feel is too little. Eventually when I decided Ill just pay the remaining (4 minutes) time they said I went over by, the machine charges me R7 parking ticket, meaning the gym did not even deduct the 1hr 30 minutes they are suppose to remove.

Gets slightly full sometimes. But its clean and great. My favourite place.

The gym is too crowded. Some gym equipment are broken and people do not give you a chance to use certain equipment. Sanitizer are rarely unavailable and people are not advised to gym with their towels so they sweat all over the place. 😑

Good fitness zone. Comfortable environment for every gender and age. Safety for covid19 is in place.

A wide selection of equipment and a energetic atmosphere.Problem is that they are at capacity with lockdown, (still selling memberships though) meaning that you will be in a queue for quite a wait. So if you wanted a workout during your lunch break you can forget it.

The gym itself is very nice, its well kept and has a lot of machines as well as having a nice glass window on the one side which allows a view while gyming which is relaxing. The pricing is decent if you get drawn into the excessively long contracts offered. But reasonable regardless. There are showers and lockers and a hairdryer? Still a very nice spot

A Membership was opened up by a 19 year old who is unemployed and the sales consultant advised her that he will put her as a student at UJ to pay a student rate when in fact she was not. When her parents were informed of this they immediately wanted her to cancel as he stated she was a student and that was false information. They did not even consult the parents. Who did they think was going to pay for it. After this we went to the gym to cancel it within the 5 days cooling period according to the consumer protection act, and due to the festive period we were unable to find the consultant who assisted us. We called and fought and complained and still are struggling to cancel the membership. Its taking them over 2 weeks to view the camera footage. Bear in mind the gym was never used. They are trying to make us pay a cancellation fee when they have not provided us with any services. They can check their logs and see the access card was never used not even one time. We are not trying to steal from them yet it feels like we fighting for our innocence. Be careful of these sales consultants. They do not give good advise and they prey on young innocent people.

Zone fitness has been stalking me for 7 years for money I dont owe them. I am tired of this.

The way they handled Covid-19 was appauling. No communication when lockdown started, only a lousy sms apology and a promise to make everyone super members whatever that means when they debited everyones account despite lockdown (they were not allowed to be open). On the 30th of June I received an sms saying 50% of my gym fee will be debited to pay for July, normally this happens at the end of July giving those who do not want the debit order (costs extra) to go through a chance to pay before the 20th , however the very next day my account was debited. I sent a message on their site saying I would like to cancel my membership be because I do not want to leave my house in a pandemic even if the gym opens and see that they are going to charge me anyways (the gym being closed and them charging me because it might open was a clear indication of this), I received an email saying my message was received and that I will get a response within 1 business day, it has been a week and I have still not received a response. I called the only number available a couple of times so I could cancel over the phone and no one answered. I feel poorly treated. All communication was done via SMS, very unprofessional in my opinion. I recommend Virgin Active , I was told they treated their members quite fairly during this pandemic. Zone fittness did not.

Fully equipped gym

I am very distraught at the lack of communication from the gym with regards to my canceled subscription from over 2 years ago as a 1st year student in 2018 - To make matters worse, I had never used the gym before and had disclosed the agreement to cancel with one of their Campus Square salesmen. 2 Years later and I have been receiving harrasing calls from one of their attorneys with no form of proper explanation as to why I have to pay a covered fee for all this time when to my knowledge, this account was closed. I fail to understand this energy of pestering people to cough up money, especially as an unemployed student, to cover a fee that I need not to. This really is appauling in the face of South Africas climate of financial exploitation, organisations such as these continue to take advantage of many people and suck money out of their pockets.

Very good and afforable gym, they have all the equipment you need. And enough instructors to give help and advice. They have fitness classes and very motivated staff.

Its great. Im currently enjoying Tuesday step classes by Themba from 5pm, followed by kick boxing class at 5. Check it out!

Very poorly run. Cheaply put together. Bare minimal functional equipment. In terms of bars (functional training area) for Calisthenics, I was sold on a lot more then what is offered. Prepare to be inconvenienced...

I am a 19 year old student at UJ, I was approached by the sales people from Zone fitness a couple of times before it was opened and finally I decided to hear them out, I was told I should pay a joining fee of R50 and that it would be R100 if I came the following day. I was also told that the monthly payment of R205 was at a discounted rate and would rise up to R405 as soon as the gym opened, I was also told that cancelation would only be 10% of the the amount owed for the remaining months, I asked to see this and the sales man assisting me showed it to me in haste to ensure that I did not see the rest of the clause which said I would also be liable for all the discounts. I joined the gym and went a few times a week from the time it opened in August 2018, during that time I overheard a sales pitch where one of the prospective clients was told that they be paying R199 monthly and would get the first month of gym free. As if that was all the lies Id been told, I tried to cancel my membership with the 10% cancelation fee in mind with a budget of R410, only to be told that I am liable for the 10% of the remaining months AND DISCOUNTS and the total payable cancelation fee was R1 390. Im a student. So I decided to freeze my account instead for December and January as I would be out of town, upon signing up I was told that I could freeze my account up to 3 months every year, when I attempted to do this I was told that I could only freeze forone month every 12 months (an added misleading lie to get me to sign up) and that company policy did not allow freezing of accounts in December (This is not stipulated in the contract). I continued to pay my dues till the beginning of March where I gathered enough money which ranged in the amount payable when I was supposed to make the first cancelation, instead I am told that the total cancelation fee is R2 288. Zone fitness Campus Square, Johannesburg contracts are a trap and the sales people are liars and have no regard for students because thats who they prey on. No credit checks were conducted to ensure that I could indeed pay the R205 which goes against many regulations, therefore anyone thinking of joining this gym, take note of the scams.
