Wow...wow...wow!!!Im so impressed with the service of Jhb cbd home affairs. Although theres a long queue on the ID & Passports application, but it moves so fast, & once u inside, it moves more faster, it took me 30minutes or so, then i was done. Coming to de staff, they are so professional, friendly, & jolly. BIG UP TO YOUGUYS, KEEP IT THAT WAY, YOU THE BEST!!!!πŸ€œπŸ€›πŸ–

Guys until you go to other home affairs you will see that JHB HOME AFFAIRS IS THE BEST,i went to Alberton home affairs and i saw flames,my entire life i always do my applications with JHB but for some reasons i decided to try Alberton of which it was a disaster and xenophobic,thank you JHB home affairs four your excellent service,keep on with your heart woriking,Sphiwe and Nwabisa your staff loves you so much guys,manner (manager)you guys are the best

Besides waiting in the queue for long hours πŸ˜’ I was impressed how fast my passport was done . I applied for it on Thursday and I got an sms that it was ready for collection the following Monday, so it basically took 4 days . The corruption there is a lot as they are guys who make you pay R50 to be in the front of the queue πŸ™„

This Home Affairs was a terrible experience, I arrived at 7am, an hour before it was open, and never even got to enter the building. It was really a waste of time. Really this Home Affairs is the worst I have been too. A waste of state institution, there is no productivity whatsoever and the most amazing part is that it is the regional office. They dont even deserve my star rating, I just did it just to leave a comment. I wonder whats the purpose of having an Operations manager there.

This place has improved drastically. The queues go quick, the service is faster and the system is much better. Im impressed, for a branch thats in the CBD they are doing a very good job. With in 45 minutes of waiting, you are done. It only took five days for my ID to be ready. I am genuinely impressed.

Let me say thank you to Portia in the applications for passports floor against All odds represented my situation positively to her manager over the burial of nephew in Swaziland. Whether the priority travel documents happens or not point is, for the first time in DHA I had a person that saw me as human being in need not a number. I went 7:30 in the morning to make an id for my daughter and was out of there by 10:00 well done on the level of the service. This office has really improved and the customer service it getting better. The are some elements to work on but the department in heading in the right direction.

After 4 years of our family trying to find out why my brother in law could not apply for a passport we were finally assisted by Ms Lindiwe Mkhabela,a supervisor at the Harrison Street office. We were treated with such respect and understanding by this lady. We wished that we had met Home Affairs officials who would listen and reason with you. May God and our Government honour such service.

I applied for my husbands permanent residency permit in the year 2017 . It has currently been two years and the application is still not completed i fail to understand why. On the site it is noted that the application will be completed in 8 months . Everytime i call the call centre to find out how far is the application and the Consultant will say that its still sitting in the same place since april 2018. I dont understand whats holding up the process.

This home affairs never sent me a message when my document was ready for collection.Secondly they have been on strike since the 29 March and refuse to work because the lift is not working.It is also bad enough for us people to take six floors up.But they just dont see the need to help people.They were just not willing to assist and work.Never again will I go this home affairs in town.

Total waiting time - 4 hours for temporary ID and application of ID. Elevators currently not working, and carry cash only when going to 6th floor. Other than that, the service is efficient, also bring in your own pen.

Arrived at Harrison Street Home Affairs at 14h45 to collect Id.I was told to join line of about 30 people waiting outside . The manager later informed us that must come back the next day. He did not heed to our protests maintaining that the office closes at 15h30. Some people on line arrived at 13h30 . I personally phoned the Both Mrs Mkhulise and Mr Moeketsi and they were not helpful. The government civil servants treats citizens as if they are doing them favor. How come during voting everyone who arrives before polling station is assisted up to early hours of morning. Management should have plan to support staff that are forced to work beyond Normal office hours. Is Batho Pele still the value that government departments subscribe to.

I had a bad experience with this guys, got there on a Saturday morning around 7:30am and left the building around past1 pm, some colored people were the first priority while we were waiting on the Que and nobody bothered as to whether you came early or not they had to help all the colored people who came with a taxi or taxis first before they can help us. ..... applied for my smart card on the 7th of July till today i havent received any sms to confirm collection.

I got there at 7:30 to get a new ID and passport as I was changing my surname. I was out of there by 10:00. Systems went offline when I became 5th in the queue and slowed the process down agaI also applied online. The online portal is very easy to use. I just took my proof or online application with and everything was very easy.It is a bit dodgy outside, but my car was safe in the parcade across the road (not too expensive to park there at all), and inside it was very organised, warm and safe.The staff working there are all very friendly and informative. It was a pleasure going there.

Applied for my sons birth certificate in Nov. 2016 and received it in May 2017. After opening a case and chasing after them. Another of holding meetings in the morning inconveniences citizens. If you know you dealing with public service, try and schedule your staff meetings after hours as they knock off early at 16h00 anyway. Surely an extra hour for a meeting wouldnt kill anyone.

The employees at Home affairs in Johannesburg rissik at 4th floor is full of lazy bunch employees, On fridays they close at 14h30 while they instruct the security to tell the residents that the system is offline in order for them to nock-off early, i thought there is no longer employees who have a government of not working.

This is the worst home affairs branch ever. Ive been told that the system is down and Ive been standing in the queque since 07:45 in the morning and now its 11:30. If there was a zero star I would actually put it its not worthy to get a star. Again considering the fact that the lady that announced that the system is down was making fun about it. I wouldnt recommend this branch ever, next weekend il be going to the Randburg branchThis is much more frustrating considering the fact that iam a tax payer in this country

I applied for a passport online, it took 20 minutes to take photos and fingerprints at Home Affairs, and within a week it was ready to be collected! Within 10 minutes we left with a passport in hand. A system that works!
