Modderfontein Country Club is one of the most popular golf courses in South Africa. Situated most central between Jhb & Pta.Its a well keep course, with lush fairways and manicured greens.Itll challenge your game without a doubt, especially the par 5 opening hole 1.Youll want to go back for a second, third and fourth round of golf.

Amazing views. Breakfast was good, friendly service. Highlight for me was the mushrooms, very tasty compared to elsewhere. Will be back to taste the Belgium waffles.

Course is really nice, slightly more water and technical challenges than others in jhb. The lockdown halfway house menu is a bit disappointing I think orders could be better prepared to keep play speed up and maintain social distance etc the round with a cart was R595 which isn’t the cheapest but it’s a really well maintained nice course. Just that halfway house that doesn’t sit well with me or the golfers in our fourballs.*course looks dry because the pic was taken in winter (July 19th)

I come here often, not a member and never actually played golf - But the pub is why I am always here.12/10 great range of drinks and also decent food. The more exotic drinks are pricey, but really worth it.

Friendly staff, always accommodating

Went with my wifes friend and she had a small baby, we were well taken care of. Awesome, loved it

On arrival, the security guard was still asleep or something but wanted to know why we were there, also the proshop was closed and the lady behind the counter in the canteen was not helpful AT ALL, she could see that we were fisrt timers there and perhaps should have been a little bit more helpful.

Greens has such a lovely view and the customer service is great. The concept is 💯

Green bar can be noisy. Lovely and reasonable food price. I go there to enjoy food and watch sport

Great place with lovely views, we sat in the bar lounge area, was greeted by a rude club member (I think) who demanded that my husband remove his cap, wasnt very nice experience. The waiter was not very friendly and it felt that we were interrupting a members only gathering, however we made the best of the experience. There was a complimentary popcorn snack which was tasty. Food was standard. Overall its a great place to hang out with some mates and they cater for large crowds

Great course with challenging but rewarding layout. The Bar/Sheebeen next to the clubhouse is very noise and makes for a unpleasant 19th hole experience.

The course is in good condition, but the administration is lacking.There was no marshall on duty today, and the 4ball (apparently including a member) playing 2 groups ahead of us were 4 holes behind, and held up the entire field.We approached them to speed up play, and this resulted in an exchange of words.We had teed off at 08h24 and were not able to finish the round, because we were still on the 16th green at 13h15 and I had another commitment at 14h00.Totally unacceptable.

Made a booking for Sunday 2 August, get to the course and get told double booking sorry cant help you. The staff is rude. Was planning on joining as a member, obviously that wont happen. Worst service received at a golf course ever. Avoid this course as far as possible, unless you want to drive to a course just to look at it.

Course is in great condition!

Ah now heres a great golf course, a very well layout course, bringing the river into play on many of the holes. Think their stroke 1 is possibly the most difficult one in RSA. One must leave the ego at home if you wanna walk away with a par. The club house is well situated looking over the outward and inward nines tees & greens.Well worth a visit, and if you are into craft drinks get your Self there.

A great course. Tough, especially the back nine, and so it should be. Regarding the food, twice had pizza, and twice it wasnt as freshly hot as one would expect, a bit like as if it was just sitting there waiting to be brought, for a few minutes too long, etc.

Good course-well arranged-pity there is little covered parking available. Have new addition in a craft beer pub with good food and unusual cocktails. The pro shop is right up there and has good value for money if you know your prices

A beautiful course it is but I TRULY HATED the service we got As a group...It looks like Chinese control that golf course,we were playing behind a group of gamblers who held the whole field up ,complaints were sent to the Pro Shop but our requests fell on deaf ears and NO ACTION whatsoever was taken to send the Marshall in to help speed up play...Its a beautiful course I will say It again but I WILL NEVER PLAY there again as long as they allow Chinese folk to play their gambling medal play without consideration for other players.

Great value for money gold course which is very challenging. The Green Bar, next to the club house has a great vibe. Try their Green Lager. One of the best beers you will ever have!

Pro shop staff are not the most welcoming and playmore members are treated very well in comparison to their members. Course is excellent and always in good condition. Well manicured greens that lay at a decent pace

The setting is lovely and the staff very pleasant but chicken in a pita was very disappointing. Definitely not a fresh chicken breast - more pressed chicken; dry, tasteless and a texture similar to thick bread. Can I recommend that only fresh meats be served?

Fantastic day at Modders for our Annual Charity Golf Day. Course in excellent condition & looked amazing!!!. Catering & facilities all great at prize giving ..will definitely be back.

The green placement on some of the holes is confusing. The green were in good nick and the halfway house meals are fresh and decently priced. It is a bit of a tragedy that I could not drive the hired golf cart to the parking to drop off my golf bag at my vehicle, after a long game of golf.

The course Marshall is wide awake. He knows his story. He pushes players who are slow in the course.

I have always enjoyed this course, but after playing it today, will not come back again. It is in one of the worst conditions I have ever seen it, and they still charge the same playing fees. Terrible experience / condition, much better courses to play in the area!!!
