Really great space to hang out. Its the country club with a few additions to create an interesting vibe. Weekends are family time, allowing for kids to run and play in the huge grass areas. Great to see the contrast to the typical country club setting.

Starlight Classics is one of the clubs best hosted events. Everything is planned to the finest detail and the show is always a special experience. The club is a fine place to spend time with your friends and family especially after the recent renovations have been completed.

Had a pleasant time here with our function. The service was fantastic and the food absolutely divine

First time visiting the CCJ, dinner guests of members. Service was rather slow and was particularly unimpressed and very disappointed by the treatment received right at the end. We were informed due to curfew that the kitchen closes at 9pm, which was very understandable however, the manner that we were treated and handled was the issue. Once main was served, the waitron became very scarce and had to ask for service a few times. At 8.45pm, we called him over and asked about the dessert menu. He disappeared and returned at 8.55pm stating that the kitchen was already closed. When we commented that firstly it was quarter to nine when we asked for the menu and secondly it is now only 5 mins to nine, he simply said sorry but the kitchen is closed. Furthermore, about 8.45pm, the gas fire that was next to our table went off (it was a cold night) and when we ask the same waitron about it when we requested the dessert menu, he said he would check on it. When he returned at 8.55pm with the message that the kitchen was closed, we asked about it again as no response to our earlier queey was forthcoming, he said again that he would check. He came back 5 mins later stating that it was due to the kitchen shutting off the gas stoves resulting in the fire going off roo. When we explained that it couldnt possibly be right as legally all gas equipment need their own shut-off valves, he said he would go and check again. He returned 5 mins later with the same answer that it was on the same line as the kitchen stoves. Having a fair knowledge of gas installations and the prevailing Health and Safety regulations and compliance requirements, I know it is highly unlikely if not impossible and it was just a ploy to ensure that guests/members left promptly. Very disappointing and insulting actually.

What a beautiful terrace, the roof is stunning, a must see. Food great as well and nice selection of ice cold beers.

Had a great morning of bowls ahead of lunch. Dont be fooled into thinking that lawn bowls is exclusive for the older generation, it is loads of fun for all!The Sunday buffet is either the full offering or the option of a limited selection. I went with the full enchilada, and helped myself to a few extra servings of the lamb curry. That curry was a highlight for me and would put a few Indian restaurants to shame. Ill definitely go back for the buffet

Spent a wonderful and very memorable evening under the stars. The music under the batton of Richard Clock was outstanding. The staff at the club were all very helpful and courteous. Entry and exit was very quick and efficient.

I played the Piano at a Memorial Service a while ago. I cannot stop talking about the Service if the Staff. Really something to boast about, CCJ!

Stunning venue for weddings

Still a grand old Lady. It is a beautiful setting in the magnificent gardens. Food is good quality and very well cooked, just not very modern. But I will be back for sure! In fact, I am taking the family for a lunch and breakfast. Love it here.

A really great place, however they need to employ a restaurant manager from a busy & successful restaurant to rev the serving & kitchen staff. Way too slow & disorganised.JCC got back to me promptly & assured me that the glitches we experienced had been rectified. We visited again today and everything was perfect. The new system they have put in place to cater for picnics on the lawn works and the food was great.Thank you JCC . 10 points.

Beautiful & elegant venue for a quiet lunch with old friends

Jaffa a quick afternoon picnic. Bc of CoVid, members only at the moment, but the food was great. There is lots of space for kids to ride bicycles and scooters with trees and shade to sit in.

My best place in the city, accommodation is clean, facilities are very good with salt water pool, gym and restaurants. Children are seen and heard having fun playing in prescribed park areas and running around, playing on the grass, very child/family friendly.Fauna and flora amazing, Rose gardens to die for.Relax and enjoy...

Beautiful gem right in our city. It is stunning. Host your big and small event here. Parking galore, friendly staff and for a bit, youll forget youre even in Johannesburg. Wedding pictures can be taken here too. Easy to find and hard to forget.

Very easy to find, just outside of Parktown. The security guards are very friendly Its beautiful and very well looked after. I Went there to watch am evening classical music concert.

Nice atmosphere in old school style of club dinners. Buffet had acceptable range of food. Would have been better if musician was closer to the tables and could interact more with the diners.

Beautiful, stylish and welcoming, marrying the old traditions and deco with some new and modern ones - it is a stunning venue for functions. We attended an old fashioned dinner dance whilst a 50th birthday party was in full swing across the passage. The atmosphere was great for both the occasions and the music was pumping both sides - yet, there was no interference - service and food was great, too. And we were greeted by the attached huge and stunning flower arrangement and a smiling receptionist on arrival.

Beautiful . Gardens and lawns amazing. A very very pretty cricket oval , with people playing with tennis rackets on the wicket , strange. We only had small snacks , as it was a function . Big Sunday lunch offered looked good. Staff seemed very nice . I think its members only and their guests . Oh - and there is a dress code ! Just to remind you it’s posh.

This was our second visit and it was fantastic. We are planning our third visit next year. I loved the openness, exquisite food and kids have something to engage with. Above all a great place to come and relax.
