I dont know of a single person whos eyes dont light up with delight when the name Akhalwayas is mentioned, and for good reason. The food is amazing, full of flavour and very generous portion sizes. If you are in the area and are in the mood to destroy your diet, make sure you visit.

Good food and large portions. Food is always fresh.

This is the second time Ive ordered curry, 1st time was chicken curry and it was burnt and now I ordered lamb curry it has a burnt taste. Their food used to taste so good but now Im not sure what happened. Never ordering from them again.

Ordered the steak and chicken box.Words fail to describe how dry, powdery and bland the steak was. The Chicken was only slightly better, but was also dry and tasteless. The chips were the only okay part of the meal.Wont order food from here again.

I ordered a Mutton curry and rice today and to say the least, it was bad. It tasted like boiled meat with salt, there was no flavor to the food in any way. They charged me R90 for a ton of rice, 3 pieces of meat and one small piece of potatoe. I have had their sandwiches before which were good but I would not go for their Mutton curry. I guess stick to what you know, really hope their curry improves.

This is definitely not akhals standards.I ordered the simplest thing you can which was chips and a chip roll.The chips were beyond greasy.At a normal takeaway I would say 2 or 3 stars but for akhalwayas this was really bad.

We ordered 3 chip rolls via Uber eats. The chips were disgusting. And tasted old and like it has been cooked days ago. The rolls were stale and dry. Your standard has dropped yet your price increase is ridiculous. R20 for a small stale cheese samosa? Its disgraceful that you charge so much for disgusting food. Will never support you guys again.

Tried the small AK roll. Definitely a lot of food but just tasted ok and not very special especially for the price.

Just purchased a medium AK which in our area cost R190 for a large .. I honestly think this owner of this fast food is ridiculous because firstly he robs people with the prices of food and secondly the food is pathetic..Will never go back to this place again and I hope people can see this for themself as it will be broadcasted !!..

Was sold rotten samosas, think they are selling food that was frozen pre lockdown. They were sticking so bad. Be careful. Truly disappointed as this is one of my favorite spots

I had a chicken curry from Sandton City branch and I got food poisoning. There was water at the bottom of the rice, strings of lettuce strewn across the top of the curry. No care was taken in the packaging of the meal and I think there was cross contamination. Never again!

A nice halal food restaurant. I enjoyed delicious rotis here and some nice samosas. The service was good and fast. The prices for the food are reasonable and you get full on a portion. The only thing that put me off was a rude person that was very grumpy and angered for reasons I dont know. If you ever happen to be in the near then grab a bite and enjoy the food.

Best roti in town. Food is on point. Prices are high but the taste is great.

I usually find the best out of any place, but Im not sure there is much to applaud here. I ordered the steak shwarma and while it was steak, it was certainly not shwarma. It was steak bits smothered with some spicy sauce to hide the dry meat. The fries were fairly wet and not crispy. There are lots of other places to eat in the mall - I suggest you try some of those.

I had a lamb bunny chow and I am usually very fuzzy when it comes to food. I was very well cooked and the combination of spices really compliments the dish. Compare to the one I had in Durban I must say it was very delicious and in the same league. I will pop in again soon when I visit Joburg.

Polony and viennas are made from soya....excess salt in steak and chicken.

Ordered the chicken curry and rice. The chicken was so over cooked, it was shredded into strings. Curry had no potatoes at all. And a bit of shredded lettuce was strewn over the top...perhaps this was suppose to be some sort of salad. A rather feeble and amateur attempt . I expected far better from Akhalwayas, as this was very disappointing indeed.

Toasted cheese with chips and salad is my favorite. Whenever I come to Joburg and Sandton for work I have to come here for my Akhals fix!

We bought chips polony. We found hair and a cockroach in our chips. Not sure I will buy from their again.

The store gave me a wrong order and i only realized that when i got to work and i work 10-15 kms away from the sandton mall and i use my lunch time to drive to damn store and i cant afford to take time off work go back again to store because of someones incompetence that does not check the order , because i gave that with beard the invoice for my order so he should have checked if he gave the damn right order .ill be coming back to store when i knock to collect my 3 Russians as each one costs me R14.00. im not happy about the service and how the guy that answered the phone when i called the store responded to me . Pathetic service really guys !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
