I have worn glasses since I was 11 and Ive never had as poor an experience as this. I booked for an eye test and after a rather cold reception, I was told I had no cover. I know this isnt true so I spoke to discovery myself and indeed my benefit was available. Then I listened in on the receptionist telling discovery she had checked if I had R5000 available, and i didnt. I came in for a basic eye test, it is not R5000. She did not ask if i would like to add new glasses to my service, or if I would like to pay as a cash patient, or really anything at all. Then without any information she told me to sit down and immediately started dealing with other patients. She finally came back to me to ask what discovery has said, even though I had confirmed in front of her and directly to her that I had cover for the eye test I came in for. She walked away, did not communicate, and picked up the phone to someone else. I became uncomfortable with the way things were being handled and I went up to the counter. I explained that I would like to cancel my appointment because she is not communicating well enough, or even at all, with me. She looked me up and down like i was rubbish and did not appologise. Again I had glasses on and i had not asked for a new pair not had one been offered, my booking was for an eye test. I never asked for a R5000 set of glasses and I got the impression that she was unwilling to proceed with me unless she had a guarantee that the doctor could bill for that much. If the front of house is this bad, what is the eye care like?

Just wanted to thank Specsavers BankCity for their wonderful service and patience. They were finally able to contact the Specsavers branch in Sandton (a frustrating process) to get my prescription and helped me pick a new pair of glasses + sunglasses that met the requirements I needed, without me having to do an eye test as I had already gone for an eye test a few months before. They kept me informed and updated every step of the way.Got my glasses, a cute calendar and a tog bag too 😁😊! Very friendly & understanding staff. Happy with the service.

EXTREMELY UNHAPPY WITH THEIR SERVICE... I HAVE BEEN WAITING MORE THAN A WEEK FOR THEM TO CALL ME BACK WITH MY BENEFITS AND CONFIRMATION OF MY GLASSES. WAS THERE FOR THE EYE TEST SAT THE 28TH DUE TO IT BEING A WEEKEND THEY WERE UNABLE TO CALL MY MEDICAL AID ABOUT THE BENEFITS, THEY SAID THEY WOULD GET BACK TO ME MONDAY. THIS IS THE SECOND MONDAY AND IM STILL WAITING. AND MIND YOU I CALLED THEM THE FOLLOWING WENS OR THUR. DISAPPOINTED DOES NOT EXPLAIN MY FRUSTRATION !!!

People are rude to and in front of customers. They eat their food while talking to customers. Waiting time is forever and they dont inform you well either and Im only speaking about the front staff. They are racist. Just after a family of somalians left the shop this lady was grouping them saying bad things about them. And lastly they make people feel very uncomfortable with how they try to bring their points across when youre simply asking a question. Never again. The whole attitude of Im better than the customer needs to stop because its not a fight. We need to help each other and do our jobs that we get paid for without hesitation.
