This is not a coffee shop, its a shop of coffees! You dont pay for a cup of coffee here but rather get treated to an amazing interactive experience where you get to see the true art of coffee. Hopefully you leave with a bag of beans perfectly suited to your taste! A must go for any true coffee lover.

We did a coffee barista course - the 4 hour course - was a great experience - I will recommend this to any coffee lover!

I went for a coffee paron course, presented by the owner of Urban Grind Roasters.Needless to say it was a great learning experience and extremely well presented. But for those who are not interested in the course but in coffee, I will advise Urban Grind any day! They have all different Arabica coffee, from south America to Central America to Africa and even special blends.

I like this spot just because it’s a fantastic atmosphere, coffee is ok to average - not bad at all 😉

Educate your staff on the procedure of Entertainer. You also close extremely early on a Friday, very poor customer experience.

My friend and I were looking for a coffee shop while biding time before a meeting. We asked around and were directed here. What a lovely surprise. We were welcomed in by very friendly gentlemen, only to find out that its a roastery and not a coffee shop. We were offered a cup of coffee anyway at no charge (donations are welcome) and we spent a lovely half an hour looking at the lovely goodies for sale and watched as a barista course was taking place. The most wonderful experience. Thanks guys. xx

Superior coffee, possibly one of the best in Joburg, with the staff to back it up and ensure that your experience is the best it can be. As far as sourcing coffee beans, coffee machines, and other paraphernalia, Urban Grind is the place to be with its rough-around-the-edges grunge aesthetic.
