They food is amazing. The staff is polite but the service is not well planned at all or maybe they are under staffed. Do not go on a date here, its always packed and they place is really tiny. It takes forever to get food and when you do its either they messed up your order or something is just wrong.
A surprising little space.I’ve heard a lot about this place from social media. I was very surprised to find that it was an incredibly small restaurant on the side of the road, so on a busier day, parking may be an issue. As someone coming from Pretoria and not used to Jhb, I was also slightly worried in terms of safety but I had a good experience overall.I was greeted by smiling eyes by all the waiters and waitresses and the atmosphere was really warm with music in the background. The food was an absolute delight. The portion size of my meal was rather small but it was delicious. I had a good session of work here as well so the environment is conducive to working if you don’t mind the music and chatter.
The coffee here is absolutely amazing and although the road can be a bit noisy, especially when seated outside but the vibe and service are really great. The chicken filling is a bit bland but the filled Benedict Croissant is really good. One thing to keep in mind is that the food tends to have a lot of leaves added which tends to overpower the flavour of the food. The Nutella croissant is very sweet; perfect for a sweet tooth.
On a recent Eskom load shedding visit - I needed a space to work and Morning Glory came to rescue. Not only was I able to conclude the balance of work the day called for, more importantly I enjoyed copious amounts of well tampered coffee and a scrumptious late lunch. In the pics below an Almond Cortado accompanied by a Zucchini fritter with a poached egg. If ever you’re in the area, pop in you must
A wonderful working space coffee shop and an okay brunch spot. Morning Glory Cafe is an aesthetically pleasing pink dream and if I must confess as a pink lover this is one of the reasons I went. The menu is cute even but has its shortfalls. For example I am sure that my Brioche fillet was served with from the packet Woolworths crisps and a bun maybe a day past it’s best days.Despite that my coffee was good, the accommodation they make for you from the strong WiFi to the plug points are wonderful. If you’re looking for a place to work and eat, if you’re in the area then definitely give it a look.
Highly recommended if you require beautifully designed interiors for your creative flow.Absolutely cute find, out of all the coffee shops available in the area this one is so tranquil. They have a separate working space inside for all the freelancers/remote workers, free wifi 😀Friendly helpful service and attention to detail. Great tasting coffee and appetizing meals.
A nice new cafe to grab coffee and small breakfast and brunch place. The decor is definitely quite new/fresh and pretty. The food menu isnt the largest but you just have to keep in mind this is strictly a cafe with food as opposed to a lunch spot that serves coffee. (in my opinion)
Great coffee, kind and friendly staff. Definitely pop in if you can.
The food was absolutely delicious and the whole meal was really great value for money. The coffee is also delicious! Well definitely be back! Special mention to my meal, the Savoury French toast! Would definitely recommend!
Really enjoyed my experience there with lovely staff. Erin and Prince were super helpful and friendly. Love this spot! Mimosas are to die for for!
I dont think I could recommend a better brunch/coffee/work environment in Johannesburg. You can spend your week days working there with the best coffee in town or come for a boozy brunch on the weekends. The food is incredible, the staff are friendly and the owners put their heart and soul into their business. To them this isnt just another breakfast spot but an opportunity to create jobs, empower the individuals working there and create a space where everyone feels like family. Highly recommend.
Painfully slow service, no waiting staff to even explain the delay. Was told for 20min that our food is being plated. And all the while waiting for a plain old toasted croissant with grated cheese, and a chocolate waffle. Won’t be coming back in a hurry. Pity because their food looks amazing.
Good food but not worth waiting 54minuts for an omelette
Trendy side walk café...great for a Lazy Sunday morning breakfast...catch up with family and friends...food was amazing
Amazing service, great coffee and delicious food!Chad and Tim goes out their way to make sure you enjoy the little gem they created in the heart of Rosebank! Thanks for making every Morning Glory breakfast a memorable one!
Wow.......friendly staff, happy vibe and my favourite.....cornflake coated French toast! Cant wait to go back!
Went there Sunday Morning for a friends Birthday, got excellent Service from our Waitress Zenen, she kept us up to date with orders, drinks and even organized singing foebour friend, the food is brilliant truly breakfast/Brunch food thats beautiful to look at and tasty, go early in the morning as it does get packed but definitely worth it, keep in mind they open at 7am amd close at 1pm on weekends hence goin early
Great food and coffee! Unfortunately the staff seemed a little overwhelmed which slowed down general service. Fell into the trap of taking on more tables than necessary for a busy Saturday morning (quantity over quality).Sure it will get better with time
Morning Glory feels like a ray of pink sunshine in the heart of Rosebank. The quality of the café sets it apart — quality ingredients, quality service and most importantly, quality coffee. It’s the perfect brunch spot.
This is a really pretty spot! The only downside is that it is very small so you sit on top of one another. However, the food is delicious - and priced for the area (about R80 for a salad).Definitely an instaworthy cafe so dress in your neutrals or some leopard print to snap aesthetic pics for your feed. I’d recommend the biltong salad drenched in it’s absolutely divine dressing. The young female staff members were very attentive and friendly.
What we ordered required no cooking (salmon bagel) yet the wait was very long. Prices are good. Nice vibe.
Great little place, in winter the seating gets a bit cramped, summer its perfect. The food is great, their croissant Benedict was amazing, everything just tasted so fresh
Yummy food and try their sparkling wine and candy floss for breakfast as an alternative.
Absolutely amazing food, decently priced too.
Best breakfast. Fresh and unique. Must try
Amazing menu, great service, friendly staff, and delicious coffee what more could you ask for? We had The French Affair and Healthy Eggs along with many coffees during our first visit. We are so happy to have found this gem!
Service was ridiculously slow. Drinks ordered never arrived. Tables were kept being added outside despite waitrons being unable to keep up. Not a COVID19 protocol in sight which is unacceptable during this 3rd wave. The saving grace was that when the food did arrive it was good. A disappointing experience unfortunately.
Very very good. Amazing dishes - especially the FRENCH TOAST!!!! Unbelievable. Good service and lovely open space.
The service was slow initially, but the food was good and the servers were friendly. We had a great time.
Cute spot.Good food.Staff are friendly.Just a touch loud for working.
The cappuccino was really great. Food was good and service was also pretty decent. They’re a breakfast bar. Staff was very friendly and engaging. Worth a visit.
Amazing coffee, friendly waiters and best steak roll I have ever had!
Food was Beautifully presented. Coffee was good. Waiters although friendly were lacking in knowledge regarding menu ingredients....
What a wonderful coffee find!! Right opposite the Goodman, nestled between the Jan Smuts Spaza-Art-Fashion hub in Rosebank. Wonderful staff, beautiful spot. Well worth your interest. X
This place has such a nice vibe and pretty decor. The service and coffee is top notch. I was a little disappointed with the creamy chicken as it lacks flavour.
Appealing location with well thought out decor touches and a light vibe. Menu is impressive on first glance, but fails to entirely live up to its promise. On the truly negative though, the service level standards fail to live up to even a basic standard. To expand on the negative; there is no queue management while busy, leaving customers having to gun for tables as they open up. There is no dedicated waiting staff per table, a loose round robin system seems to be in effect with a lot of lost communication. As an example, we waited 40 minutes for our food before the manager realised a waiter didn’t even place the order. Food arrived cold and incomplete, a full hour after ordering. Coffee was cold upon arrival, and only one drink order was ever offered in a 60 minute window.Nice décor though.
We visited for the first time on Sunday; and although it was quite packed- we enjoyed ourselves immensely. Its a tiny spot(and that in itself is part of the allure); so youll need to wait a little longer for your food...but when it comes- itll knock your pink socks off.The Waiteress who served us was on top of it- despite running around like crazy. Morning Glory is clearly doing something right.
Fantastic! We were in jhb for a few days on business and stayed around the corner, we had breakfast there everyday and without fail it was great. the quality of the food and coffee is only shadowed by the staff... after 2 visits they knew our preferred coffee order greeted us. its great to see the owners in the shop.
They have the best bagels in town😩 and not only bagels , the whole breakfast range
Loved Every Moment of IT!!! I would highly recommend it
Well its below average, cold food and plates, not much filling in any of there dishes....
Fun little hidden gem in Jhb. The blueberry and white chocolate freezo was to die for! Loved the atmosphere and service.
The food is average at best, the service is friendly but slow, the queue is long, but worst of all is the screeching traffic of Jan Smuts. Not only will you struggle to hear others at your table, youll feel like youre moments away from witnessing a car accident every time someone runs a red traffic light. On the food side, while my hot cross bun with ice cream and Nutella was Instagram friendly, it wasnt what I ordered. I ordered the hot cross bun with fried egg and bacon. And upon arrival, I had a faint apology, and certainly no offer to have it replaced, or that it be struck off my bill. While brunch certainly is the best meal of the day, this Morning Glory left me feeling rather limp.
Awesome vibe and food. Brilliant Service, too.
Great spot for excellent coffee and breakfast. Opens early.
Great coffee, amazing food, awesome owners. Definitely would recommend!
New hidden jem on Jan Smuts. Lovely coffee and super breakfast menu (small but every item executed perfectly). You definitely need to try the french toast! Yum!
We sat outside its noisy and in the car fumes. We asked to move and they refused eventhough there was open tables. Their chai latte with almond milk was delicious!
We had a staff brunch at Morning Glory and it was superb.Great pricing, one of the best single-origin flat whites have had in Joburg, and really friendly staff. Definitely try the Cornflakes-coated French toast if you have a bit os a sweet tooth. The pink is also such a vibe.
Made a booking to sit inside for Sunday breakfast as all the outside tables are literally on Jan Smuts road, and upon arrival was casually turned away saying there’s no space. The attitude of the staff is unacceptable.
Service is mediocre. Food ok. Coffee great!
The service is incomprehensibly slow. We waited over an hour for our food- which was essentially 3 orders of poached eggs on toast. We were basically told that the food order for a table of 11 people **who arrived after us** was going to be made first, so our food would take longer than usual. I was stunned, but we took it in our stride and figured wed just drink and chat the time away... That didnt work because every drink order took 20min to arrive. When the food did eventually arrive the eggs (which were ordered soft) were more akin to golf balls, and the bacon burned. The decor is lovely and its got a cute vibe, but you wont catch me there ever again.
Something different on offer. Great bacon and Brie breakfast just add sunnyside egg. Was totally different.
Great food, great coffee
Such a sexy lil shop... perfect spot to grab a yummmmmy coffee or pass some time...Love the the food! Great service!!#banana ramahhhhh...#ill be back...
Breakfast tasty and fresh.
Food and ambience is great. Service needs improvement.
Great experience with excellent service, would definitely suggest it to anyone.

5/5 for service4/5 for food3/5 for coffee , it just wasn’t it for the price I paid
Amazing vibe and the best coffee in Johannesburg. Brunch was just what I needed will highly recommend Morning Glory!!
Hi, is a booking required for the 6 course meal going for R350 at Morning Glory Cafe based in Highlands North?
Just needs more cold drink options e.g kambucha tea or craft iced tea. The coffee & food was amazing & great service.
Lovely pink nook in Parkwood. Serves great coffee and excellent light meals.
I absolutely love this place. It has become a second office to me. The owners are the kindest, most genuine humans you will meet. The baristas make a great flat white, and they serve Bean There coffee which hits the spot. The food is affordable and delicious - one of my go to sarmies has to be the Leafy Treat (the beetroot hummus is out of this world). Just over 3 months old, this little place is a must visit for everyone - they are also doggo friendly with an outside seating area, and can make some babychinos for your littlies too!
Best coffee shop in Jozi!!Ask about their incredible, monthly pop-up fine-dining events.
The Banana bread is absolutely delicious!
All day brunch! Yay! Absolutely adore this vibey brunch spot - such an asset to the Jozi eatery scene! The coffee is outstanding, food is delectable and the spot is just so darn Instagram worthy! Watch this space, it’s going places! *going back for a pink Mimosa
Will definitely be coming back
Bit biased. Met an epic girl here. Coffee and food was on point.
Best breakfast and coffee in JHB!
A must visit in JHB, great coffee, fast & free wifi and good food.
Excellent cappuccino # great brekky
Amazing French toast 🤤
A great new coffee spot between Social and Saigon Suzy. Perfect for a cortado or to start a bar-hopping brunch on the corner.
Great food, service, decor, style, new family favourite
