Unexpectedly relaxing atmosphere. The coffee shop’s menu has a variety of traditional Italian dishes and many vegetarian options. Desserts are delicious too.

What a lovely cozy restaurant with very attentive friendly staff, delicious meals and a warm atmosphere!

First time, loved the decor and atmosphere. The food was excellent, so much so that we ordered extra mains to take away. Three of us had pasta dishes (I think the pasta was freshly homemade, awesome) and one had a veg bake. For dessert we ordered a few tartlets so we could try a variety - they were all delicious. I only wish it was nearby for me.

Had our anniversary dinner there tonight. Outstanding. From the reception (Wilson) to our waiter (Carron) to the owners and, of course, the food … world class. Just brilliant. Thank you Dolci

Food was good despite the order being slightly wrong. Would be a 5 star experience was it not for the service being quite tardy. Perhaps we had an inexperienced waitron.I ate the Gormet Salmon Avo, it was delicious and would certainly recommend.

The food and service is excellent however the portion sizes for all pasta is very very small... it’s a pity and when asking management if we had ordered a starter portion, he said they have had many complaints about portion size but unfortunately that’s just how they do things. So if you are expecting a big filling dinner it is maybe not the place.

Without a doubt the best Prawn pasta I have ever had in my life.The home made pasta is sublime and the Limoncello is a delicious beverage to sip on while enjoying your meal.

Im a regular and never eaten badley or had a bad experience but this was exceptional... It was my wifes birthday 🎂 I called them early to book a table and asked if they wouldnt mind buying some flowers 💐 and putting them on my bill. When arrived the flowers 💐 werent there, the manager on the earlier shift had forgotten so the manager on duty made a plan and purchased the most beautiful bouquet 💐 of flowers, we had champagne 🥂 and dessert on the house 🏡 and the meal and service was excellent. Coffee was ok. Cappachino that were ordered was rather bitter. Perhaps we got the bottom of the coffee pot. Breakfast ordered was good.. cant really compare fried eggs from place to place but it was good. We were ushered out after our breakfast as they had another table coming which was a bit disconcerting... almost like that waited for us to finish our food then pushed us on. So wasnt a relaxed Sunday breakfast unfortunately.

The venue is fantastic. Well-lit, very pretty and very homely. You are greeted by the owners of the restaurant who are always keen on a quick chat & are happy to pass their recommendations.The Sascilia Pizza with the Italian Sausage was sensational, as was the Amaretto based dessert which is home-made & definitely is something which I would rate as one of the best Italian desserts that Ive had.Unfortunately, the main course (Madagascar Fillet Medallions) was poor & unappetizing which is why I cannot rate the restaurant higher than a 4/5. For R198, you get around half a kilo of mash with three cold & unseasoned pieces of prego-style fillet steak surrounded by spinach leaves & drizzled with cold black peppercorn sauce. And this item was listed on the specials menu. Highly disappointing.Would like to go back & try the other items on the menu. Perhaps they are much better. Still a fantastic venue & would highly recommend.

I have no complaints whatsoever. This place was absolutely amazing! The food was the best Ive had in a while with plenty of vegetarian options. The decor is lovely, with art by local artists featuring prominently. The experience was lovely.

We love popping in here for a casual meal - their homemade pastas are delicious. The Specials menu is always varied and it’s difficult to decide what to order because it all sounds so good.Service is always friendly.

Breakfast was average, but cant speak for the rest of the menu. Fun decor inside and good service but food is not amazing.

What a great find! Looks tiny and a little dull from outside, but you walk into airy, nicely decorated rooms with a vibey buzz. Its quiet enough to have proper conversations, though. There were 5 or 6 dishes I wanted to try, and the ones we had were all good. Ill definitely go back to try the others. A large choice of wines by the glass and a knowledgeable waitress add to the experience.

My favourite spot in Craighall. More than a trendy here-today-gone-tomorrow, this lovely bistro has established itself in the community. Always good coffee, good food and excellent service.

Local favorite. Great authentic Italian, ran by 3 generations of Italian origin (if I am not mistaken). Pasta is home made and divine, with the Truffle and salmon pastas being my standard go to’s (although it seems that they recently started serving smaller portions?).

The casual but VERY efficient service make this eatery one of the best kept secrets in Johannesburg. The pastries are to die for !. The food from both menus is delicious. Ive never wanted anything additional when the meals are served. My favourite hang out with friends or quietly working alone WiFi network is efficient and always reliable.

I went to Dolci with my parents for the weekend dinner. Thoroughly impressed with the selection of meals and hospitality of the owners. Great wine selection at competitive prices and delicious mains. Good parking above the centre with parking security. The waiting staff could do with a little extra training as their knowledge of the menu was minimal and unprofessional.

Manager was very rude and not accommodating at all. Not worth it

Thank you for a wonderful evening last night. My first visit. I loved the decor and the busy atmosphere, as well as the talented Italian Cafe live music 👌. Waiters also good. I have spicy chicken livers & asparagus brie lasagne: both sublime. Hubby had calamari starter which he said was awesome but his t-bone tough & bland. Zucchini fried - could have eaten a ton. Overall a great experience. Grazie!

What a treat. I went with my wife on a date night a few weeks back. The food was amazing, atmosphere warm and welcoming. Best pasta I have had in a while. I will definitely go back.

Venue and staff is lovely. The food is tasty. The problem is the value for money. The price charged at the food you receive is not the same. R103.00 You get a thin slices chicken. Hand full baby pototoes. 3 slices tomoto. Cheese sauce is two spoon fulls. 😞. Cafe needs to relook at the price

The food was good, if a bit on the pricey side, we had poached eggs in spicy arrabiata sauce with a side order of bacon and cheesy scrambled eggs. Very tasty but the bacon was cold. My nephew had pancakes with cinnamon & sugar that were rubbery, cold and had so much cinnamon on they were inedible. The service today was shocking. We waited almost an hour to get our food and the table next to us waited 30 mins for coffee. Hoping for better & quicker service to match the food we enjoyed

Excellent authentic Italian food. Loved the Vitello Tonne (just like mom used to make), ossobucco, vitello con fungi porcini and the famous fried zucchini sticks (the head of kitchen is none other than the lady of Assagi & Amacord). Her daughter Jacqui is the owner and does wonderful baking

Quality of food outstanding. Not had better in Jhb. Except for the ice cream in the Affogato.The ice cream was not as creamy as it could have been and had too much ice in the cream. It did not taste like it was made in your kitchen - unlike everything else. 10/10 for everything else. 7/10 for the Affogato.

Authentic food, lovely people

Great atmosphere, genuine Italian cuisine. We went for desserts but ended up ordering off the main menu. The interior feels sincere and unassuming while the food is anything but modest. The jalapeño peppers were perfectly fried and the complementary jam was a great dip. The prawn spaghetti was very well made true to the original taste with the spaghetti being cooked to perfection. The dolci della nonna dessert is a fusion of flavours that may be a bit overwhelming for some palates, however, the restaurant has a great selection of dessert items to choose from on display. Will definitely be coming back to try more of the genuine Italian dishes.
