Loved the vibe here. Food was food and live entertainment was provided (DJ). The view is amazing. Definitely recommend this place for lunchs and early suppers. Smoking is allowed freely as it is opened.

I got a bit flustered when I saw that the menu had been changed, so I tried the chicken wrap, its not great but its not bad either.But the music is amazing as always!! Huge fan of the DJ👌❤

The place was really crowded and had some difficulties getting a space to stand/sit, but we managed to get a table after a few minutes. The drinks are good and cheap while the food is good but nothing special, just a few bites to hang. The music was amazing and the whole atmosphere was perfect - people were dancing in their spots. The décor inside is really special, lots of plants and very special. Definitely recommend the place!

Spending an afternoon at Mabonengs Living Room was a delightful experience! The decor is truly alive, Beautiful plants, Pots against the wall, lots of sunshine streaming in, which was welcome on a wintry afternoon. The music was Live snd good, their menu is perfect for the venue, most of us chose burgers or wraps, well priced and delicious. Thank you to attentive waiters, the welcoming team and Guy at the door (maybe security?) who put his hand on his heart to acknowledge us in thanks when we left.

What a lovely gem in the middle of Joburg! Entering the building, not sure what to expect youll be delighted by the green shrubbery and simplicity of the decor. Fresh flowers adorn each table welcoming you to the establishment. The waiting staff are helpful friendly and seem to know the menu well. The chameleon is a unique cocktail to try while the ramen will have you wanting more. All the dishes with a side of chips come with a fairy decent serving so thats also an option.Definitely a place to visit more than once.

Such stunning views from up here. Quite the hip crowd as well. There is an entrance fee of R60 so be prepared, they do accept cards though 😉

Had some amazing food and drinks at this place. The view wasnt like those found in Cape Town, but its definitely different - in a good way. They would have received a way better rating if they werent so damn expensive and made me pay for entry.

We hosted our Christmas party here and it was nice until they told us that,by 16:00 we should be out as they had to prepare for a private function. I wish they had told us well in advance before making a booking.

The view and the vibe are some of the best in Joburg. Unfortunately on the weekends Sundays especially it is overly full to the point that one feels claustrophobic and week nights are seemingly dead.Really beautiful concept and design.

What a vibe. Very cool sunset from the rooftop. We spent a good few hours jamming to some very cool music while enjoying the rare view of Jhb CBD skyline.

Booked the whole place for an evening event. Great view, one of the best places to have a drink and get a feel for inner city Joburg.

Place is great to escape the hustle & bustle of joburg after work. Not a great venue for kids or non-smokers, smoking is allowed everywhere which contradicts the greenery & fresh air you seek in this open air space. the food was excellently presented but tasted quite bland - but theres room for improvement.

Amazing place to hang out on Sunday afternoon - I believe there is cover on Sundays but its absolutely worth it. Interior decor is very modern and green. Cant go wrong with their cocktails. There are DJs as well - I didnt particularly enjoy the DJ I had on the day I went but typically they have good DJs. Another bonus point is that you get to see beautiful sunset at Living Room.

This place is absolutely perfect if you want to see Joburg Skyline. Love their cocktails and its best you visit for sundowners. Parking seems to be always full in Maboneng,but safety is never an issue as there are security guards visible until very late at night

Nice vibe, just doesnt have WiFi

One of the most trendy rooftops in Joburg...with a good music and with an underground stile in downtown...its views will make you feel as a local although you never been to before...Sundays afternoons turned into a day club despite it closes at 7pm...a must if you want to dance listening to electronic chords...Love it!

Beautiful vibey upmarket themed rooftop venue for every occasion. A little cramped and youll struggle to find space. But that adds to the cosy theme. I will go back. A must see in the Maboneng District.

We had a work function here. The view was spectacular, the decor is unique and the food was delicious. The only downfall of the venue was the temperature. It is an open rooftop and we baked!

Ambience is super chilled on a Wednesday afternoon. Perfect for sundowners after a hectic day. They experiment with their in house cocktails. Still want to try out their mains. The plants in the room give it that city life in the jungle fee l.

Great great place to come with work colleagues or friends after a tough week. The waiters and manager ensure exceptional service while the barmen always has a smile and keeps the beverages coming. The interior is also really well done! Just a great place to hang out.

The view is nice and the drinks are too. The food was okay. If you are looking for chilled vibes, this is not really the place, as it is quite loud and you have to shout in order to have a conversation. But if you are looking for funky, upbeat vibes then youll love it. The decor is wonderful.

A must when in Jo-burg!Great vibes, interior, view, people and staff. It is a great place to catch the sunset over the skyline. Dance in daylight to some old school tunes made new with a live dj.They are throwing daytime parties from mid day ish until seven in the evening every sunday. The first entries are free and you get a wrist band so you can come back in. That makes you able to go and check out the market on the street just outside and also the food market just up that same street.To be sure you have a seat you should book it in advance.Went there saturday evening as well and was not disappointed.

A fresh vibe on the rooftop with a substantial view of the Johannesburg skyline. Youre greeted by a lobby wherein you adjourn by an elevator to the restaurant. The room is lit up with a very organic vibe, almost hipster like. They have a room filled with green plants and wood based architecture that livens up the environment. The place is filled with a homogeneous spectrum of people - young and old alike. The room begins feeling more lively during the night with live musical performances played from the front stage and thats when you strap on your dancing shoes and dance to the lights of the Johannesburg skyline. Highly recommend coming here with your family during the day and friends at night.

One of my favourite places to visit in Maboneng. I love the lush green setting on a rooftop overlooking the famous Johannesburg skyline. The food is also competitively priced and its delicious.

Their cocktails can be better. Food presentation is lovely, especially their fries being served in a flower pot; adds on to the atmosphere theyre creating.Music is very lively. It can get extremely packed making the walk to the restrooms very overwhelming as you have to squeeze your way through- literally.Whether youre grabbing a bite or a few drinks its definitely the place to be.

What an awesome place in the city

Decent place for locals and tourists alike to enjoy some house music on a sunday and look at the sunset over Beautiful Johannesburg.Unfortunately its very small and very popular so it gets cramped and uncomfortable on most occasions. Hopefully they expand the existing venue soon.

I loved the whole concept of the place, it having an outdoorsy feel to it and a lot of plants. The sticky wings are a must have and you definitely have to make a reservation because it gets packed. The music suited the atmosphere (soulful house). The manager was a bit rude about getting an extra chair when a friend joined me. Maybe yall should just have extra chairs lying around somewhere especially on busy weekends. Nonetheless I had a great time.

The restaurant is beautiful, the food is delicious and the DJ, she blew me away. The wine list is very limiting, with only one Chardonnay. The views are great. I will definitely return.

Honestly, the weekend vibe here is everything. The venue is so nice and green with plants, the people are awesome. The only thing I have against them is their cocktails. They were pretty bad. Their shoe lace chips are to die for. The cocktails though...

Perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Awesome music and good food. Make sure to reserve a table as it gets very full and you will end up standing the whole night. Its got an amazing view and its pretty cool to watch the sunset. The chicken burger twice as nice is really good and the fries are like Mac donalds fries which is great.

A friend recommended The Living Room to us and we are very glad he did. Only being new to Johburg it’s hard to find good places to visit.The concept of the place with all the greenery is a winner. The vibe is excellent which goes with the great service and I was really surprised with how great the food was.With two beers and two cocktails plus two plates of great food the bill was only 350R which for a expat Aussie was cheap.Keep up the great work Living Room, we will definitely be back

Great spot to have lunch or arrange an function for a smaller group. Food is presented well and well prepared. Lovely rooftop view over Jozi. Call to check if theyre open. They often close due to being booked fro events, especially during the end of the year.

There vibe is beautiful esp at night, the music is so different and good. Im very happy about the service and the attention you get. Perfect place for nice pictures with the green plants and flowers! 😊

Food is fantastic except for the lamb chops in the best of both which had a rather pungent taste. Had to use Tabasco and other sauces to see if I can stomach it. Service is great, atmosphere fantastic. Will definitely visit again.

Nothing like chilling with friends and overlooking the jhb skyline at sunset. Atmosphere is amazing. Theres a live band from time to time. I recall being here for a year end event a while back. Worth the experience. The street parking was pretty safe as well.
