FANTASTIC restaurant serving really good French food. I HIGHLY recommend! Good selection of French wines.

All the food was excellently prepared and flavourful. There wasnt a bite that wasnt wonderful. A good variety of dishes with something for everyone. Every dish was prepared to perfection. We will definitely be back to try more items off the menu.

We loved the duck pate and the rib eye steak. Excellent waitress Bianca. Calvin the manager was hands on and the whole evening was superb.

Regretfully my previous review is to be amended. Went again and worse food in a while. Steak was unbeatable, so returned it and the alternative pasta supplied was too hot and a mess, so returned that. So left hungry. What happened???????......Previous review was ; Back again and the food and service is yet again on point. The calamari starter was the best I have had in a long time. I am not a vegetarian but the mushroom and truffle linguni was amazing. Then service as always excellent. Everything from from the food, decor, background music ensures that there no better place to spend a sunny afternoon in Parkhurst.

One of my favorite restaurant and definetely the best place in Joburg if you want to have moule frites, they are just to die for 😋 the food is excellent!!! I always spend good time here. I forgot to take photos of my moules frites I was so in a rush to eat them. 🙈

Was taken here by an a friend for lunch really liked the small cozy feel of the place. Service was casual but quiet adequate - my deboned half chicken was absolutely superb. Would definitely recommend a visit if you want to break out of the chain restaurant rut.Parking in the area is always up a side street but it’s worth the walk if you have to park further away than usual - it’s the areas popularity that makes it this way.

I like this place. One of the more upmarket places on the ever-popular Parkhurst Strip. Friendly, unpretentious and excellent mussels & chips! Not a vast choice of wine by the glass, but decent options.

The most intimate and fantastic dining experience one could hope to have. Honest cooking with attention to detail. Well priced if compared with other restaurants in the area and in Johannesburg, in fact. Well pricing extends itself to the wine list which is a fantastic balance between local and international wines. A must visit!

Beautifully decorated and tiny space. So reminiscent of European dining. Very enjoyable space to relax with a cafe styled handwritten specials board. The food however was a little disappointing. I enjoyed elements of the meal - like the chourizo and squid starter - but overall I found the flavour lacking. In the case of the pork chops I would not recommend at all. Go if you prefer the ambience to the flavour.

Found this lovely little French Restuarant on the Internet.We were thrilled with the underdecorated look, very French. Marvelous menu..not 50 pages long and an excellent choice. The longest wine list Ive ever seen and this was admired by a young wine expert from the Cape.Great service too.

Atmosphere is cosy and wine list is good. Service is impeccable. Well worth a visit, food is unfortunately a bit inconsistent with some meals being awesome and others falling short.

My Steak was chewy. Service nice. Loved the menu and the steak tartare my mom had.

Smaller restaurant with local feel. Small menu, but having tried everything at least once, would happily have all again. Small but good quality relatively inexpensive wine list also appeals. Pork belly and chorizo is a favourite and the burger is an excellent lunch option.

Fantastic menu and delicious food A bit pricey.

Always a great place to have a relaxing lunch or intimate evening. Seafood linguine and braised lamb shoulder are highly recommended. Not the best place to have steak in my experience. Panna cotta and chocolate tart are great. Best part is that you can book a table by sending Daniel, the owner, a text. He always responds quickly.

Great cosy setting for a cold winters evening. Not our first time at Bistro. Would recommend and have recommended Bistro to our friends. Service was great, except this time had to kill a cockroach on the table and my burger was uber dry, mussels were a bit dull. Am sure next time would be 100% again.

They have a great menu, and a very intimate atmosphere, but do not deliver both on service and their star dishes (The bouillabaisse was a salt and tomato stew that happened to have some fish and one or two pieces of shell fish). Great potential, ruined by any kind of personality or charisma.

My Lord! The freaking cockroaches are insane. We sat by the coffee machine, and honestly, despite cockroaches being clean, not cool at a restaurant!Im talking at least 40 in one sitting!!!!

The food was lovely. Pity about the cockroach infestation. We asked to move tables half way through the evening after I killed a cockroach with my menu.

A wonderful, cozy French inspired restaurant. There is a good wine list, a menu of only a few items that are the focus for the season and friendly staff. The steak frites was good and the panna cota rounded out the meal. All in all it was a great dining experience.

The place has a warm atmosphere thats romantic without being fetitious. It always feels like home or even Italy. The food is amazing, hearty and on point. No matter what you order its to die for!!! Especially chorizzo and pork stew thing!!!! Its to die for.

The special was good and the half deboned chicken was very good. Our waiter was friendly and efficient and helped us out of a spot of trouble with Uber by ordering us an Uber.

Absolutely no atmosphere at lunch. Constantly had to look for our waiter and pour our own wine. Duck confit was completely bland and dry. Not rushing back.
