Spilt Milk is a lovely little restaurant in the heart of Melville in Johannesburg. It has lovely atmosphere where you can spend quality time with friends and family. Good food en drinks. And a beautifully decorated outdoor courtyard where you can enjoy the fresh air. Really enjoyed the place. Friendly staff and management that does the most to make you feel welcome. Will definately visit them again💗

What a lovely spot for a quick bite. It was quiet, the food was to my liking. I absolutely loved it. I never finish food, but that waffle topped with an egg, bacon and syrup was amazing. The 4 star is for those chips tasting like they came from the freezer. However, If I ever find myself on that side of life, Ill definitely pop in.

Its a cute little getaway in a busy place. Service really wasnt that great seeing as I had to wait over 30min for my plane Jane waffles and even longer for my pineapple juice. 🙃 I didnt feel like tipping at this point since everything I ordered took super long and it wasnt even that busy, but the food is good and the drinks not too bad.

Today was my first time, first viewed on Instagram. It has a vintage appeal, staff with a great sense of humour, I had as a starter a Macadamia Cortado double shot espresso, divine and for mains the Spilt Burger bunless with a side salad. The pictures did not lie the real thing was even better. Centrally situated in Mellville. If you havent tried, try you must. I look forward to returning and trying some of the other goodies on offer. Thank you Spilt Milk for an enjoyable experience.

Due to level 4 lockdown restrictions only a limited menu is available. Hubby and I both had roasted chicken mayo sandwiches.There were no ingredients for the berry smoothie so I opted for the lemon one instead and it wasvery refreshing. Will definitely go back once restrictions are eased and sit in is allowed.

They have one of the best hallumi wraps. The hallumi is not overpowering and you can taste the other sauces.

This place serves amazing breakfast and it is really affordable. The service was impeccable, the food was really fresh. Our waiter recommended the sour dough toast and I had never tried it before, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Really a great space for group and family outings.

Besides delicious food, this place has a wonderful brunchy atmosphere. I love the variety of things in their menu and also the variety of prices. If this place was around the corner from where I live Id be broke...Oh and the coffee? Its definitely made with the good stuff by someone that knows how.

You cant have a bad meal here. The food is excellent and the service is great. Indoor and outdoor seating are available. Definitely worth a visit :)

Nice location, a little corner shop with window bar style seating or a max 20 pax little courtyard with cosy benches or smaller tables.The menu was very limited. We ordered the roast chicken mayo bagels (R80) which were not available, and settled for the salami and egg bagels (R50)It was a standard size bagel with very sparse toppings, two thin slices of salami and hardly equivalent to one scrambled eggAbsolutely nothing else - very disappointed with the food especially at their pricesThey were very busy with people popping in for take away coffeesMaybe they should offer toasted sandwiches at a fair price and take the 5 bagel/ciabatta items off their menu

Split milk is a gem in the rough considering how up and down Melvilles reputation is. It does help a lot that theyre at the very top of 7th Avenue so away from the rough. Their corner setting in an old building with outside quartyard is quirky and cozy. The staff are very friendly and generally attentive. Theyve paired down their menu in lockdown times but whats left are great options and very well priced. We food is generous and tasty. Definitely pop in.

45 mins waiting for breakfast. When we complained, only one breakfast was served. Please dont spoil your morning here, there are plenty of other restaurants to choose from.

Service was appalling. Waited 30 Min to be served a simple cappuccino. Limited menu. Didnt order food after having our drinks. Restrooms need attending too.

Spilt Milk is the ironic namesake derived from the idea that you should not sweat the small stuff. Food is great, the servers are friendly and the atmosphere is as relevant as you need any time of the day.

Average customer service. We waited +/- 30 mins for our food to arrive which, surprise surprise, was average, too. Giving it two extra stars due to the dope ambiance.

These guys at the cafe are great. So kind and best of all the food and cafes were delicious. Portions are big but the next day we had to get back for breakfast which was also good
