Great food. Their steak and oxtail was mouth watering. Manager was very kind to let us sit and order right before the kitchen closer. Great ambiance. Quality food. Throughly enjoyed the night. Will definitely be returning with friends and family.

I really love this place. The service is amazing. The waiters are so friendly and they are really helpful. It is so huge with lots of sitting areas depending on your mood and vibe. The food is great and I had the best none alcoholic red wine. I really recommend this place.

Reserved a table at this well known restaurant on a Monday evening when it was not busy to celebrate an occasion. It had been a while since we had been there and having recently heard good things about the place, our party of 4 were quite excited about the opportunity. All in all, it was a pleasant experience but nothing to rave about. The food was tasty and plentiful but the service and overall ambiance needs attention. Disappointing given the hype.

Dinner there three out of four nights in town. Best beef filet ever! Beats any Argentinian, American, Australian etc. beef I had over the years, hands down. A lovely restaurant with beautiful decor. Classy, neat and great service. Even during lockdown the menu was great, the food exceptional and the mocktails super tasty. The restaurant staff was so accommodating for our small birthday group and even allowed us to bring decor and our own cake. Service is great and quick, nice decor. Steak was good. Caesar chicken salad came just with lettuce, chicken and parmesan (bacon and croutons were missing). But they brought croutons by request. Lindt chocolate mousse was good but had light aftertaste of raw egg. Prices are a bit higher than average.

Excellent quality food. I had the New York Steak with chips and onion rings - I thoroughly enjoyed it. Maybe Ill choose a different cut of steak next time as this was quite chewey, but it was perfectly prepared (ordered it medium rare). Their bread is also AMAZING! If anything I can go there for the bread alone.

Good. Steaks and burgers of high quality, the pepper sauce was delicious. Good atmosphere for families, friends, even parties: Pick an outdoor table in spring, or inside in winter.Craft beers on the menu were out of stock but the draughts were nice. Theres a big wine list on the pricy side.

This has to be one of the best Grill houses in SA. The quality of the food is outstanding. Amazing, attentive staff and a great atmosphere. I only wish i could treat myself every week. The perfect venue for a special occasion.

There’s an indoor, terrace and pavement area prepared for dining here; I was sat on the pavement and it’s a great spot for watching the world go by while you dine on some incredible food. Initially I thought that service may be a little slower being so far away from the main restaurant but I was pleasantly proved wrong. The staff were all wonderful and made me feel welcome and valued throughout the whole stay.The menu was provided quickly and there’s an extensive range of drink options. Bottles of wine were really well priced and there were a large number available by the glass too. My order was taken but there was no rush for the food order and I was left to take my time which was great.As soon as I had placed my food order a delicious side of freshly baked bread was served, along with a pot of butter. The warm softness was really delicious so it was a shame it was removed straight after the starter. The starter for me was marrow bone, and the three pieces of bone were presented well along with some toast and it was piping hot. Once finished the (I assume) manager came out to greet me, ensured everything was fine and then offered to keep the main dish on hold until I was ready. I was a little apprehensive of this, thinking the steak would be overdone as a result, but he assured me everything would be fine so I took the opportunity to relax.Once my 300g filet steak with chips was eventually served I wasn’t disappointed. It was cooked so perfectly to my medium-rare order and was so soft and juicy; I’d say it is one of the best steaks I’ve had. The chips were equally as satisfying and very unique, it’s hard to describe how they’d been cooked but they were superb.Throughout the meal staff kept my drinks topped up and were really friendly, ensuring everything was as I needed without being overbearing. Best of all was at the end of the meal, when the bill was incredibly reasonable for what was a truly enjoyable meal. In such a prime location it’s a wonderful place and I’ll be sure to return should I be in the area again!

The food was as good as you can expect for the location, the staff was kind but very weary (rude) to when you leave the table to smoke. It takes more than a couple of reminders to get your food on time as well. Beautiful scenery, and in the centre of everything.

Very good fillet on the bone and excellent service. The vegetable side was also much better than average. The toilets being up two flights of stairs is slightly inconvenient.

I went to this restaurant for the first time 2 weeks ago, it was my birthday... I ordered platters to go, listen the meat Platter is to die for. Ill definitely go back on my next trip to Joburg.

The grill house is a chick, neat, and stylish looking place. The waiters are courteous, clean looking and eager to please. The menus is skewed towards beef, which is to be expected so dont much else. The wine selection is good, and they have a variety of beers.If I could describe this place in a short sentence, Id say its a place for guys to grab dinner or lunch. Note though, you must turn up with heavy pockets, its not cheap. A typical meal will be about R190, without drinks.On a side note, its not bad for a date too, pick a place upstairs, and make a booking.....and share the bill on the 1st date, always tell dudes this!!!

There are additional options on the menu if you do not eat steak and there is an impressive wine selection available. Service is amazing and you can also host a private event as there are several rooms available.

The guy is not welcoming at all, he cant talk to ppl nicely, dont know if his racist or just doesnt have patience for ppl. Does he even have experience working with ppl.? . Honestly, disappointing. Food was good, however the service was atrocious.I asked for a take away, my food was taken from the table, and never returned, until I asked for it. In covid times, where was my food sitting for all that time? It was my husbands birthday, I called and arranged, then sitting at dinner, we paid the bill, we sitting and sitting. Then I go and ask, a male server then comes to the table, puts down a plate with a piece of cake and a sparkle, says here (quite aggressively) and walked away.

Situated in the lovely Melrose Place, the Grillhouse overlooks the square. The service is good and everyone is friendly. We were a large group and they had a room prepared for us. They have rooms for groups that are apart from the main dining area. The steaks were great as well as the kingclip although a bit oversalted. The desserts were ok although they were not all served at the same time and the chocolate brownie was drowned in the chocolate sauce. To their credit, they offered to make another one but we declined as it was late. I would go back for the steak anytime!!

Service, Service, Service from the time you enter. Very nice set up and atmosphere with good Covid protocols. Tasty complimentary bread, good Biltong and Wors. Lets talk about the Fillet on the Bone, one of the best ever. Tender, flavoursome and cooked perfectly and accompanied by Heavenly Mash. A most satisfying culinary experience. And, not bad on the pricing, I wished I could try the whole of their fantastic menu options. I was hugely impressed, every aspect of the visit was beyond expectation. Great establishment, very well worth the visit. Ill be back for sure

What a lovely experience. We started off with the snails, calamari and marrow. Delish. Drinks were tasty. I had the prawns that were also very good. A few friends had the meat platter that was done to perfection. Wait staff was terrific. I love this pic because it sums up our experience. We were all laughing after a great meal and our waitress was the sweetest and funniest. Would absolutely return.

Everything is just done so perfect here, the steak was masterfully cooked medium rare as it should be, most places I have send it back because its way over cooked and then the next one I get is severely undercooked but this place just gets it right everytime, the food was absolutely delicious
