Decent lunch overall. Croque Monsieur was tasty. Salad had a nice light dressing. The burger was mixed: patty well done instead of the medium we ordered so was a bit dry but the bun was fantastic. Most disappointing was the pretzel we bought: very dry and did not taste fresh. NY cheesecake was great. Baklava cheesecake very difficult to eat but visually gorgeous.
Id definitely recommend this restaurant to friends and family with an appetite for European food. The unique decor gives the place a friendly, French ambience. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The food was served simply, but appetisingly and creatively. I loved the beautifully, neat cursive in which the menu was written on a large blackboard. The only unfortunate experience was the waiter forgot to bring cold milk for my husbands coffee on both occasions. However, he was quick to bring it when reminded to do so. The service was good considering the restaurant was busy due to it being Mothers Day.
I bought a Carrot and Walnut cake last week. I have to say IT IS THE BEST CAKE I HAVE EATEN!! Moist, full of flavour, loads of ingredients, tasty cream cheese icing. We all savoured every moment eating this cake!!! Will certainly order again!! Well done, I thought there were no more bakeries around making delicious cakes!!
Went for lunch yesterday as the place is highly recommended. Arrived at 1215. We sat down, were brought menus, waited to order. As we were placing our order around 1225 another waiter informed the waitress and us that they were closing at 1 instead of 2. It would have been better to let us know before we sat down . I can’t comment on the food as I have never eaten there.
This really is a Parisian patisserie. The pastries are really good, and the croissants as good as anything you will get in Paris. The sit-down menu is fairly limited, but good. If youre looking for a French restaurant you might well look elsewhere .Parking isnt plentiful, but adequate.Prices are a bit on the high side, but not silly.Get there earlyish because todays stock is sold today, and when its finished...
Novel unique little place. The jazz music, the pastries, friendly waiters, the Belgian beers are all just so different. Ive yet to try the normal food though
Good food, venue needs abit of an upgrade
A fresh taste of France, every time that I have their fine Croissants. Best in Johannesburg, probably SA…Patisserie de Paris is my favourite bakery.
Best baguettes in town. Great variety of croissants and other pastries and bread. Sit down option. Cheese selection and other European delicacies. Great service, grateful staff, this place deserves the support of the community.
Awesome little French Cafe, lovit! 😍 Pastries are absolutely amazing, service was good and staff very friendly, will definitely be back - highly recommended! 💯
1 Star is too high of rating for this place. They messed up my order completely and the manager was unwilling to help. He has a very bad attitude and I would never support this place again as they have no integrity or business sense.
Fantastic to go for breakfast, delicious cakes, and the most amazing brownies I have ever had in my life!
Absolutely fabulous the food is amazing and extremely tastey, the service is amazing and there are extremely friendly waiters. Love this restaurant
Great food, would have been greatly have a bit of French background music. Staff were helpful. We arrived around lunch time and most of the food had been sold or was not on offer. Next time arrive earlier. I would go back. Lekker coffee and amazing mango smoothie.
Never fail to impress with their beautiful selection of bread, cheeses and pastries. Delivery services are fantastic too 👌
Patisserie de Paris is very European in its feeling. Delicious pastry coupled with on point coffee. The service is just ok, friendly enough but expect to wonder at some point about the service and how it should be better. However, this too is very European. I haven’t found better pain au chocolat and sitting out there in the mornings is utterly charming.
Sadly closed during lockdown. Staff very helpful with takeaways which were delicious. Date and walnut loaf highly recommended.
Quaint little bakery, its quite cramped inside, making browsing their goods a bit difficult. Although everything is clean, they need some kind of covering to keep bees off of their baked goods, other than that it is really good.
Lovely place...food is good quality and tastes great and staff is super friendly
Charming suburban bakery and coffee shop. Loved the food and the vanilla milkshake.
The food is lovely. And so many interesting things to chose from! But you know that feeling when you wanted to treat yourself, and then when you are there you wish youd rather just stayed home? The attraction of the menu and its delights failed to extend to the venue and the atmosphere. Its a pity because its a beautiful idea that fail to deliver on its promises. (Please paint the walls!)
If I could give a million stars I wouldve!!! Thank you to the manager and his team for helping me give my partner an amazing Valentines day surprise!!! They really went the extra mile!!! I wish more businesses took pride in there service like this bakery! I am super impressed. You have a customer for life!
Food was good, service could CERTAINLY be a lot better - it felt like we were imposing on the waiters.
Had to telephone for service from the outside seating area. Totally overpriced at R40 for a small meatpie. No menus you have to get up and walk to a menu on the shopfront. Not greeted by waiter. No service at all. Waited 25 minutes and still my burger hadnt arrived. This place is a joke.
Waited for service. Products excellent.
The best madam croque in JHB 👌🏻
Delicious, light pastries.
This place has a great ambiance and really is a sweet little place to go grab a delicious piece of cake and a coffee or even if youre in the mood for a savoury dish, those are great too! The servers are always smiling and the small things that have been done to make this place welcoming and warm are just great! Definitely would recommend.
My friend and I had a very busy day planned and thought it very convenient that the place opens at 6:30. We got there met with a sign saying they opened at 7:00, since we would still make our 8:00 appointment this wouldve been fine. Once we are finally seated we were told that the kitchen only opens at 8:00 throwing a massive spanner in the works. It would be really helpful if this information was on the website.
Lovely French themed bakery and deli with elegant street side café vibe. Big thumbs up for good service, early opening hours & being pet friendly. Our breakfast meal was average and a small portion, but we will be back for the delicious breads and delicatessen. Dont miss the deli with rare and imported cheeses.
Great place for freshly baked pastries. Love the croissants especially when they are fresh and hot from the oven.
The pastries and cakes here are delicious and they serve a fantastic strong cappuccino! The only real let down came with the service...which left a bad taste in my mouth after all the yumminess. Perhaps if you are seated outside you get more attention but it truly was a struggle to get our waitresses attention and eventually we just used which ever waiter we saw in desperation to get our orders placed. Maybe they were short staffed , so Ill give it another go and see if they can put a sweeter taste to my first impression!
The coffe is amazing, the pastries were fresh and tasty and the service was just lovely. Ill definitely be back!
Love the food and coffee, macaroons are also a big delish
Amazing pastries...worth the drive and a great coffee as well.
It was absolutely amazing and the food was fabulous & the serviceby the staff was excellent & I would recommend the Patisserie de Paris in Blaigowrie to anyone who is looking for a special place to have an enjoyable meal with Friends and family. 😄😁👍👍
The best cheesecake in town!
Great little breakfast place with a delicious menu and good coffee. Service was a little on the slow side but hey its Saturday morning and I got no plans.I had the croc monsieur with Emmental cheese, it was amazing.Theres a sweet little deli and bakery so you can stock up on cheese, charcuterie, bread and amazing pastries. The sourdough bread sells out early so try to get there before 10:30 if you want to take a loaf home. Also, once the place started emptying out bird come drink from the fountain 😁
Food and staff are amazing. The team really understand and know their pastry.
Easily the best croissants in town
Exceptional quality food and baked goods, a bit on the expensive side but worth it!
Quaint little establishment with a great typical bakery menu comprising quiches, baguettes, croissants, pies and of course, pastries and cakes. Unfortunately for me as a lacto- vegetarian, my options were extremely limited so I ended up having an over-priced piece of toasted sourdough with smashed avocado, dukkah, and feta with cherry tomatoes (had to leave the poached egg off) for R95. Not their fault as Im not their target market but my companion swore by their baked goods hence the 3 stars and not 2.
Im giving the establishment only 3 stars for the following reasons:1) the sautéed potatoes and cherry tomatoes was cold when it arrived. Almost as if was prepared this morning and then slap on plate. The tomatoes didnt have the texture or consistentcy of freshly prepared fried tomatoes. And it lack taste and aroma. The same goes for the potatoes as it was already stale and bit dry.2) I had the Lyon breakfast, the mushroom sauce was cold as well but it had a very nice flavour and texture to it. Must be amazing if hot and freshly prepared.3) Sourdough bread....... must be lightly toasted to be crispy and not rock hard.4) My poached eggs was perfectly done medium. Thank you5) your hot chocolate is to die for. Well done.Something to remember. Its middle of winter, warm the plate to touch as this will keep the food warm and flavorful longer.People love this place as Ive noticed a few regulars. Staff know them which means people go back. This is my first time and will try them again
Their products are awesome, but get there early. They also sell eggs from Dusty Dog Farms which is a huge plus
I have read such beautiful reviews about the place. Also was referred by my sister as she goes there every Sunday with her hubby. Bad service will ruin a place! The guy with a green nano mask was so nonchalant and rolling his eyes. I asked about the Mississippi mud cake and it took him a good 20 secs to even look at me to respond. He then proceeded to walk away from me asking another gentleman to help me. Im so disappointed as this was a my time there and was excited. His energy towards me was at negative 1 while I was beaming at a solid 10. This encounter ruined the tone for my day. So sad. The other guy that came was very sweet. But that one who was taking orders over the gate in a green mask was very bad. 😔
Service is so dependent on who is serving but the pastries are great.
Service appalling. They said they were short-staffed today. I didnt even get what I ordered in more than an hour and it was less than half full. The ambiance seems really nice and the menu looks good and well priced... just a pity i didnt even get to try it because the service was disastrously slow.
The walls are Pink, like very pink. The waiters cleaned the tables before we sat and we had our tempature scanned at the door and hands sanitized. The quiche I had was incredibly fluffy and delicious 😋
I absolutely love their baguettes and danish pastries but I have not been disappointed by anything Ive bought from them. I would suggest stopping by or ordering early in the morning because their freshly baked food sells out FAST! They also have absolutely amazing cake.
Yum. Superb
Delicious cafe fare foods and glorious breads/pastries to take home. The ambiance of a street cafe, lovely community vibe, great staff, all combine to make it a go to venue.
Shew.... if it wasnt for the great baguettes... the place is really tired. Service not bad but indifferent. Place could do with a dust and a spruce up.
Dog friendly with the best baguettes and breakfast in town!
Loverly little get away out of hussel and busses of malls. Awesome pastries with touch of France tastes
A gem of a bakery! The NY Cheesecake is to die for!!! The macaroons are out of this world. I cant recommend these two items on their menu enough. Go and try for yourself!
The food is divine! I had the French toast which was exquisite. Service a bit slow but some (not all) waiters are super friendly.
Nice, relaxed atmosphere. Good sandwiches 👌
Delicious food - always! Especially pastries.
Very lovely set up. Awesome outside seating. Not so much food options but breakfast and coffee and cake/pastry’s r good.
Good service. Reasonable prices and tasty pastries.
One of my favourite places! Service is great, food is lovely and the music is the cherry on top!
Best croissants in town
Great place, they offer amazing baked goods. You can order at the door take away, we really enjoyed it. The coffee is good and the staff are very happy
Awesome place. First time going there. was highly recommended by my girlfriend. Bread was fresh and amazing!Highly recommended.Only gripe/suggestion have a separate entrance for people wanting to buy and go. Walking past other peoples tables seems a little disruptive. Other than that! Awesome food!
Great food. Great Cafe atmosphere. Always make time to come here when Im in town.
It is a little coffee shop with a store attached and a tad overpriced.Locals love it but you wont be seeing me again. A lot of other bakeries to frequent.
Not as impressive as I heard it was. I visited after 3 pm and maybe everyone was just tired from a long day. Bought frozen croissants that I want to try out at home. Lets see.
An important stop when visiting Johannesburg. These guys make great coffee! Not to mention their fabulous breakfasts and to die for pastries. Unhurried, this is a place to linger over a lazy breakfast or lunch. A welcome escape from the frenetic pace of the surrounding city. Welcoming and friendly service will have your order on your table promptly. All in all a very pleasant experience.
Great bakery with amazing bread, BUT you can never see their bread on the shelves - they are always out of stock and dont you dare mentioning it to their staff - you will experience the full might of their attitude
Amazing croissants, wide selection of baked goods. This place is quite busy on the weekends. I loved the chocolate croissant that came out fresh from the oven. The establishment is quite old and a little run down. The quality is great though.
A delight to the senses. Great atmosphere, delicious food.
One of my fav places but got there today at 3:20pm and the waiter told me they are closing early nowdays because of COVID. Very disappointed. Why the need to close early? Makes me wonder if the waiters just want to go home early. I am sure they must miss out on a lot if business.
The baked goods are great but a bit pricey for me.
No frills, great value. Had a tasty bacon and egg croissant and a cappuccino.
Lovely ambience and good value for money
Fine except for the bees!
Wonderful food and great ambience
Great potential but careless business owners who dont care about customers and customer service. Bad service overall
