On 26/09/21 I made a purchase at the store. Bought a chocolate cake and samosas,the cake was okay but some of the samosas were very old and even turned black inside already.This was my 1st purchase at the store and I wont be returning there ever again.

Well the place is not to shabby, could do with an up grade, in my opinion. There raks are, neat and tidy packed. And there cake 🎂🍰 and biscuits look good and delicious. But parking looks like a problem, because its virtually in the street.

Always fresh. However, the prices of some items have increased drastically. Few years ago the Caramel bread was like R 15. Now the small is R 50

The people there lie and say its fresh cream stuff when its actually imitation cream yuck!!! Butter buiscuits are not pure butter its magirine!!! Dont mislead people in false advertising. Not many items on the shelf but this was because we went there early.

Gone down from what it was. This was the best place for the original Hanover Bakery products. Previous owners, mom and dad knew them well, and we loved coming here. Clearly not anymore because even if they follow the recipes to a T, it wont come out the same if you dont have that passion and drive. The sugar coated rolls were the best. Not the same anymore.

Butter biscuits are actually magerine biscuits. Very disappointing.. the fresh cream used is also not pure fresh cream. Wont visit this bakery again.

Hanover street is a very busy street with both traffic and pedestrians. Its also among the popular bakery like Hanover bakery which is also opposite the biggest Mosque called Mayfair Jummah Masjid. I love this street ❤️😍😍. Please put it in your list to visit one day.

The service was poor I waited 10 minutes in a que to order a cake they still made me wait another 20 minutes because no one could take my order.

The rudest manager Afzal. We travel a distance to support this business and have been doing so for many years. The manager Afzals attitude to customers is totally unprefessional. He is extremely rude and screams at customers. Unacceptable. I will not bother to shop here again because of his attitudeUnfortunately I cannot find a reply option to the response received, so I will reply here. Your arrogance knows no bounds. The 3 star rating is for the products on offer and its your rude and arrogant behaviour that is the cause of the 5 star short fall. You claim that you limit the number of staff due to Covid protocol when in actual fact you follow NO covid protocols in store with regards to social distancing, by your own admission of and I quote a very busy period with a line of customers. Well actually we were 4 customers, hardly a busy time but too many in that small space. So instead of limiting your staff, you should limit the amount of customers you allow in store at a given time. 2 of us needed 1 cake from that counter which wouldve taken all of 10 seconds to hand over to both of us.So let me tell you the truth of what actually happened and not your sugar coated version trying to make you look good. I turned around to you and one other staff member, the 2 of you were busy packing goods onto a table. Something that couldve been done after serving customers.At NO time did I yell out to you and you most certainly DID not reply politely because if yiu did there wouldve been no need for this review.I asked you very politely if there were any other staff that could assist us as we only needed 1 item. You turned around and very loudly and rudely said, We all busy. You must wait. Cant you see we doing things. Hardly the response a manager should give to a customer. Had you been polite I assure you this review would not have been written.Now to clear your misinformation. It was the lady next to me that told you that you should hire more staff. Not me. And none of us were rude in any way.At this stage you had 3 very irate customers as we were all standing around for over 5 minutes. For something that couldve been handed to us in 5 seconds.The lady working along side you came over and assited 2 of us in under 10 seconds and resumed her packing when you ran away to the back. She was so embarrased by your outburst she did what a good manager would have done, despite NOT being the manager, and came to assist the customer.Please dont try to justify your rude behaviour. A manager needs to resolve issues not create new ones. You go on to talk of the positive reviews. You also chose to ignore the 1 & 2 star ratings you got and most of the high ratings and mine included is for the product and not the service. However no matter how good the product no customer wants to be treated in such a rude manner as you were to 3 of your customers.

Hanover used to be a fantastic bakery . I have noticed a change in management and also the cakes is not as fantastic as they should have been. Management could also do with a course on customer courtesy. Non exists.

I bought a black forest cake today at a top hat price, and it was expired, its not the first time. the sponge was old, hardly any cherry flavour , very disappointing. will not be going there again!

This place does not care about its customers,I bought a cake and we sent them a picture.When we collect my cake they said we didnt send them a picture and we did .We had to wait half an hour for them to put the picture on (they said it would take fifteen minutes,but it didnt ).The service was really bad.
