Luxury on safari. This is great and perfect for the person that wants an easy safari. The airport is 5 minutes from the lodge, the lodge has first class rooms, facilities, staff, drinks and food. There are many White Rhinos in this reserve as well as Lions, so lots of exciting. Ive done many safaris and I prefer the rustic (but with great service), but this was still amazing and a nice relief.

Perfection. Everything about our stay was nothing less than perfection.We were able to spot the big 5 with our awesome rangers Bryce & Thabo!Definitely going back.

This was an amazing experience. From the time we arrived for our game drive until we left we were treated like Kings and Queens. The guides were very knowledgeable. They made sure our game drive was a memorable one. Dinner was also one to boast about.

We had a terrible experience in this lodge!We had been advised to carry some money for any emergency in South Africa.One of the employees stole 400USD from us.⚠️ We left the money always in the safe and in the last day we started packing early and left for breakfast, as no one was supposed to enter our tent, I left my backpack with the money inside of a pouch in the chair and locked the tent. Later we noticed that 400USD were missing. The manager Chris at fist said he was willing to investigate, he never called me back, it was always us chasing him in search for an answer. Chris kept for weeks telling us that the investigations were in process. After a month and many messages with no reply, the conclusion was: “Investigations were not conclusive and sorry for your loss.” I am not sure if it really had any investigations whatsoever. Problem not addressed properly.I would avoid this lodge as the problem is still there, involving bad management and also staff integrity.That is how after 25 years of experience traveling everywhere, we have been stolen for the first time with no one claiming liability for this.Apart from this episode, the experience wasn’t bad, but not brilliant too! The drivers were very commercial and not personal (free lancers). Many times they didn’t even spotted an animal that we did. We stayed at Kapama River Lodge after this MD Luli Lodge and that was truly an amazing experience!!!

Extremely exciting, Tranquillity, clean, well cared for and friendly, inviting. John Mbetse en Noel Mongwe were very well trained Rangers and spotters.They know the land, animals and provided us with great viewings of the Ingwe, fast food, lions, cubs,Ndlovus, Buffalo, Rhinos etc.Zandile was our food host and she was excellent, friendly and very professional.

Our stay was really wonderful, the staff at the Lodge was so hospitable, the food, the rooms and the game drives were out of this world.

Had a fantastic stay at Kapama River Lodge. Special shoutout to Tasha, Ringo, Besani and Mapule who went out of their way to make my stay as comfortable and educative as possible. Besani came on some days to serve us food in the dining area even when she was on a break. Tasha and Ringo are a dream team when it comes to finding and tracking animals in the reserve - saw all big 5! Last but not least, Mapule kept the room immaculate, her attention to detail cannot be commended enough.Great property, wonderfully maintained, clean, great mix of rustic and modern. Highly recommended!

From the pick up at the airport, the lovely welcome at the lodge, the staff, the organised safari drives, the food, the accommodation, the pool, the general lovely atmosphere throughout our stay, everything was beyond expectation and fabulous.Saw the big 5 and much more, and Stephan(us) our driver made the whole experience great fun and amazing.The trackers are so great at their job and ready to go the extra mile to give you their best.The room was beautiful and all the food on offer was delicious and plentiful.I could go on but 10/10 isn’t high enough. Hope to return and do it all again. Thanks to all the wonderful staff for a dream holiday .

Amazing place to come and relax

Everyone at the lodge was so friendly and worked hard to make us enjoy our vacation. We received 5 star treatment. The accommodations were beautiful, the food was amazing, and the common areas were inviting. The spa is phenomenal. There was so much food to eat and the chefs were accommodating. The safari drives were spectacular. We saw a lot of different animals. The rangers and trackers wanted us to see as many animals as possible to make it an enjoyable experience, which I appreciate. This place is paradise and Id stay again in a heart beat.

Great experience overall! All staff was very very kind and helpful, the rooms were cleaned and checked every time we left. Safari experiencie was also really cool! Our ranger was fantastic!The only thing I have to say and give only 4 stars is the quality of food.For a 5-star hotel with all infrastructure I must say I expected much more from the gastronomic experience... the food was normal-buffet all inclusive style...

This is an exceptional resort. The grounds are beautiful and tastefully decorated. The staff are welcoming, friendly and caring, they really go above and beyond for you. The cuisine is excellent and interesting, featuring a lot of local game to try, and the coffee is great too. The game drives are a lot of fun, featuring knowledgeable and friendly guides. There is a beautiful spa offering fantastic treatments. Wildlife comes right up to the resort and you can see them from the balcony or pools. Only 4 star as the rooms could be noisy at times and needed some maintenance, but still very comfortable nonetheless.

Definitely a winner

Ill remember the experience I had here forever. We did 4 drives (3 hours each) and saw the big 5! Shout out to Edwin who was our guide. He made the drives fun and interactive. The grounds were well maintained and the staff was super attentive. We also had some dietary restrictions and the chef would check in constantly to make sure our needs were met, and often made specifically prepared food for me and my family.Ive attached some pictures here. You get really close to the animals.

Greatest Adventure of My Life! Ranger Freedom and Tracker Noel are the best! Seen all animals up close! Lodge is very good. Animal outside the window every morning! Clean and people very helpful and friendly. Food was excellent!

What an amazing place

Of all the lodges, Kapama river lodge is the biggest. That being said, it is still a beautiful lodge! The public areas are incredible and the artwork has you looking at it for a long time! If you want a spa treatment, you will not be disappointed here. They have one of the most amazing spas that I have seen!

Great location, opt for the bigger room if possible. It was relaxing there. Every day you can do the game drives to see the animals. If you want something extra special, add the feature to stay out in the wild for a night. You can sleep nearby the animals and the view is gorgeous.

Beautiful, high class facility. Saw tons of amazing animals! I highly recommend Ranger Eben and Tracker Michael. They were a great team who were extremely knowledgeable and friendly, making us feel welcome and comfortable!

The food is truly delicious and our guide was very knowledgeable. We were very happy to spot the big five! I will definitely return.

Kapama River Lodge is incredible! The staff are amazingly friendly and attentive (for the best service, see Olga!) and the facilities are incredible. The food is above and beyond!! I wish we couldve brought it all home with us!Our safari drives were really fun and informative. Our tracker, Panic, can find the sneakiest and most well hidden animals and our driver, Imtyaaz was very knowledgeable and always made sure we were in the right places at the right time! Bryce joined us for a few drives and his knowledge of tracks and the animals is fantastic (and witty!).100% recommend. Its worth the time and money to visit!

This is not a part of Kruger National Park. I want to be clear on this. The place is very elegant and comfortable but we were a bit disappointed with the way the entire place is run. The rangers claim to own the animals. The food served was Impala meat and stuff. It was clear that they were killing animals within the park for food for guests.

Highly recommend. Had an amazing visit with my wife. The staff was very attentive and great to deal with. Saw all the big five and loved our visit. If you visit, fly into Eastgate and have the lodge come pick you up (10 minute drive). Self driving from anywhere else is not worth it due to police corruption (it is common to get stopped and solicited for bribes, had happened to us twice).

Magnificent stay at Kapama River Lodge. Comfortable rooms, attention to detail, friendly staff. Wonderful meals and superb game viewing. We saw all of the Big 5, including young lion cubs, a baby elephant and a leopard with a recent kill. What a perfect weekend break. Will defintely be back.

My guide, Clifton, was the best! He was able to find many animals and show them in its natural habitat. The resort is very well run and the food was great!

What a wonderful place! Excellent cuisine, magnificent game drives and very caring and friendly staff. This is a true 5 star experience!

Kapama River Lodge was everything we would like & more. We were very nervous taking our children who are 10 & 7 years old, however the staff at Kapama were very accommodating & treated our children so well.  Marinus our guide & Bernard our tracker were amazing & a great team who worked well together and their persistence ensured we were able to see the big 5, particularly the elusive Leopard. The hotel is in great condition & furnished beautifully with a local touch. The family spa suite is very large and the kids beds fitted nicely. Be sure to stay 3 nights in order to enjoy this lodge & you will get to see the big 5 plus more! One negative is that the Kapama reserve has huge power lines running through in one section which makes the park less natural but if that doesnt bother you then this is the place to come to if planning a trip to greater Kruger National park.

Amazing place with missed concepts.The lodge, the food, the guides and the resort are great.A few things that could make it better:-No international electric plugs. You have to BUY one at their shop for about 10€.-They ask you to help them save water by reusing the towels but they change them each day twice even though you try to keep them.-No internet in the rooms, only at the bar/pool area.-Non of the soft drinks are included in the price.-Slow communication and sometimes no answers at all for phone calls or emails.

It was out of this world. Soooo close to nature. We just loved it.

Rooms are great like living in a tree house village, food is wonderful but the best is the game reserve. Its really all good,...ok great!!

We had booked and paid through expedia. At the checkout they asked for payment again. I asked the staff whether or not we had already paid ( I did not remember since booking/payment had been made several weeks before our stay).They said that we had not made any advance payment and that the full payment has to be made now at checkout. So we paid a second time for our stay because the staff lied to us!They are now refusing to refund the double payment and pretend that they did not do anything wrong.Customer support is a joke, absolutely incompetent. They do not even understand what the problem is. Even after explaining everything ten times...Update: weeks later they at least refunded the money.Besides that:Rooms are ok, safari is good, food - especially dinner - is average at best, there is no wifi in the roomsOverall: very disappointing, especially given the price

Fantastic reserve with great safari tours. Passionate guides with full respect of the nature. Exceptional experience and a good chance to see the big 5.The hotel itself is of a western 4 star large resort standard (not boutique). Rooms are comfortable and large.Service and staff extremely friendly.Only buffets are available for lunch and diner. No a la carte menu. Pity - food quality is ok, but not meering the Cape Town standards for example.Cocktails are not meeting expectations.Wifi only works near the lobby area, not in the rooms.Prefer the Buffalo camp a few km away if you want a real 5 star hotel.

Great food excellent accomodation kept spotlesly clean, had international plugs and wifi in the room, great wildlife spotting great guides and trackers saw the big 5 in just 2 days and went on to see lots more ended up taking 2,800 wildlife photos it can not be better than this.
