The silver orange bistro was such a delight to visit. The place is stunning and the food as delicious. The menu is concise yet offers variety. We went out for a birthday and they catered for that with a happy birthday on tje dessert place. They really put in the effort and its appreciated.

I have been coming to Silver Orange Bistro for almost a decade and with every visit - whether it is just for lunch or to celebrate a special occasion - my expectations are met.Few restaurants in the country bother to exceed service standards, here all the staff is well trained, kind and courteous. David was amazing the last time I went.I go there for a break from the city and the beautiful food. The Duck & Fig Samoosa starter is always a win (couldve used a bit more ginger) , tried out their Seared Salmon for my main (paired with chickpeas - the combos were communicating) and Citrus-infused Chocolate Cake for dessert (just heaven).The menu hasnt seen dramatic changes over the years and is executed to perfection, with presentation, flavour profiling, portion size and overall value for money making it worth sharing with friends and strangers as a highly recommended must-go spot.From where I come from, the drive is long (I still underestimate how long it takes to get there, ask me how...). When you finally arrive, it all feels worth it - the citrus orchard is wonderful to walk through and hear distant laughter from Gin-ed up guests at Almost Orange (light vibes - they serve up cocktails and platters in a garden setting).We have many great restaurants in the city but none can replicate the ambiance and attention to detail youll find at Silver Orange Bistro.

Beautiful ambience. Excellent Quezzine. The food is always of a high standard every time we go there.The chef has turned his grandmothers house into a beautiful Restaurant .There are not a lot of tables so you need to book as it is usually full no matter what night of the week it is!

The food was a 3.5 at most; however it was visually pleasing.The layout if the restaurant and the atmosphere is great though. Service was above average and we really enjoyed the walk in the naartjie orchid.

Loved this place. The setting is beautiful. Breakfast was lovely. Fillet steak in the omelettes. It was my birthday and they made the table so special. Petals on the table and also a free delicious sorbet after the meal.

My first visit 😊 I love this place the atmosphere is breath taking. The food was beyond my expectations presentation was lovely hands up to the chef. My only disappointment was the waiter Courage, we only heard his name when he was introducing himself to the large table next to us which he was glad to serve and attend. He was clearly not interested in serving us. Being in the industry for over 10 years I know what am talking about. We had to walk to get the bill and my partner tried telling him about the service he only sad ok and never cared what we had to say. All we ask for is try and attend all tables equally.

Food does not get any better than what you are served at the Silver Orange Bistro. Romantic setting and great for occasions such as birthdays and anniversaries. Standard has always been 5 star every time we have eaten there over the last 10 years or so. Also great wine list

A very good dining experience. A fine dining restaurant that caters for all tastes. Perfection and worth the day trip. I’m a simple eater and found a steak that was done to perfection! Lots of intricate dishes as well. Awesome deserts.

Fantastic ambiance and the food was really great. The pastry on the starter was close to perfection and the filling was great. Duck samosas and tempura prawns. The mains were also great I had a steak medium rare cooked exactly to medium rare beautifully seared on the outside. The other main we had was the lamb shank, fall off the bone tender. Both mains were accompanied with delicious vegetables.Dessert was creme brulee. The custard was perfect the sugar crust not great. But excusable with everything else being so good.Definitely a dining destination worth visiting.

Just lazy Friday luncheon. Leon prepared a stunning Pork Belly. And a salad with the most interesting bursts flavours. The views across the orange and naartjie orchards are beautiful. And the trees were creaking at the weight of the fruit.

Been going for years. Beautiful setting and ambiance. Stunning wine and gin selection. Food pretty as a picture. Enjoyed some good meals there.

What a lovely place! It is upmarket but the experience and presentation of the food is well worth it. I opted for the Tagliatelle and was very impressed. It is surrounded by big shady trees with a covered patio if you feel like dining outdoors. They have a substantial wine list too. Its a great place if you have an afternoon to spend catching up with friends! Not suitable for a fast dining stop.

Lovely meal. The service was professional and the food was absolutely delicious. Im a vegetarian and the only main course on the menu for me was a veggie curry, so the waiter suggested that he would check with the chef if they could make me something else. They offered to make a veggie pasta, and it was probably the nicest vegetable pasta Ive had! Asparagus, artichokes, peppers, cauliflower, spinach and parmesan. Yummy!!! If youre vegetarian, I highly recommend you ask for the veggie pasta thats NOT on the menu! ;-)

Silver Orange is worth the 50min drive from Johannesburg. Situated in a sultry tropical garden in an old manor house. Thoroughly enjoyed leisurely fine dining lunch - halloumi grilled to perfection, Mediterranean platter, gorgonzola and springbok fillets and peanut butter halva ice cream. Sumptuous!

Its the third time weve been to Silver Orange and yet another memorable experience. Nice cosy and romantic atmosphere, very friendly and knowledgeable waiters, absolutely delicious food and a great wine, beer and Gin selection. Recommended to book before you go but definitely a must visit when you around the area.

A lot of mosquitoes at outside sitting area they must get something to get rid of mosquitoes not spray, you don’t want to spray yourself if you are dressed up. Should have a dress code!!!

If you are in the mood to treat yourself, family and possibly some very fortunate friends then you have to try this Bistro, the setting is very tranquil and comfortable and gives that sense of being away from the city as Magalies usually does. They boast a huge wine selection that is more than the palette can endure. The pier de resistance, besides having the melt in your mouth Slow braised lamb shoulder which I had to let my group have a small taster and fortunately they were just as giving so I can say each dish is like a work of art, very fresh full of flavor cooked perfectly but dont take my word for it. I want to thank the staff for making it special for my grilfriends birthday and their effort they put in.This is a fine dining restaurant hidden in Hartebeestpoort Dam that serves dishes set to amaze your pallets. Each ingredient is carefully chosen to complement one another. Absolutely amazing establishment and compliments to the creativity and conplex understanding of food structure by Chef Leon Nel.I would definitley go back to this restaurant, and i reccomend it to anyone who wishes to have an amazing dining experience.
