Definitely one of the best places to eat within the area. Authentic Portuguese style food. The chicken espetada is delicious! Prawns are fresh. Great service and has a play place for the kids. Will definitely return again. Overall great experience.

The food here is great, as the name suggests you can get Portuguese cuisine. The service is great too, with a small play area for kids as well. Suitable for large groups, with smoking and non-smoking areas.

When I kneed a beer and Im in Hartbeespoortdam, Caravela has the best Bar to sit at! Smoking friendly but non smokers dont be alarmed, there is great airflow.The colored lights create a soothing yet entertaining ambiance!If youre a seafood lover this spot is perfect.

The best Mediterranean seafood in Harties! Worth a visit when you are in the area. Even though the restaurant was packed they allowed us a small table in the bar and served a wonderful meal. Try the prawns! Recommended

Lovely restaurant. Friendly staff and their meals are delicious.I mostly enjoyed the groovy, yet catchy Portuguese tunes. Given the pandemic, the restuarant kept us all at a good distance. Sunday afternoon well spent :)

Awesome friendly and attentive service, the MOST amazing melt in your mouth calamari and hake. Starter mussels were divine. Tender steak. Delicious chocolate brownie to end off the meal. They Just dont have kiddies burgers so had to pay for an adult size burger for our little one. Definitely recommend this restaurant.

Overall great atmosphere! I would be cautious if you attempting to visit this restuarant on a busy day if you are Covid conscious; as they appear to be close to, or at 100% capacity around midday during C19 times (we werent asked to sign a C19 tracing book). Waitress didnt have an answer for us when asked what the difference was between two items on the menu. Although we confirmed the order with the waitress, we received the wrong order (one of the two dishes), and were blamed for the mistake. Chicken was over salted.

The atmosfere was very friendly. Access to the property is easy accessable. There is a ramp for disabled people like me.The staff was very friendly and gave good service.The food was Excellent. All the food. Only bad thing was I ordered a 500 g T bone but it was same size as the other 2 350 g Tbone steaks. Besides that excellent.

This has become our major fish joint as they grill the fish so nicely that it retains all its nutrient and when you eat it, you can savour the deep aroma and a tingling on your taste buds.Its the best place to eat nice fresh fish in Gauteng. We drive over 40kms just for the fish here.Absolutely tasteful.

The food was really good, pricey, but very good. The food made up for the unfriendly atmosphere given off by management and staff. It is a pity that it is situated on the main road, and although we visited during a week night (not known to be busy in Harties) it was quite noisy sitting outside on the deck. Overall experience was pleasant and enjoyable.

Very pleasant and quiet on a Monday lunch. Staff attentive in spite of quiet time. Ordered two combos, typical Portuguese preparation and good tasting. Parking sufficiently close. Really good place to relax.

It was the second time my fiancé and I had gone there, it was definitely worth the drive from Joburg.It was busier than usual due to it being valentines day, but the staff / management were attentive and apologetic about the wait, but it gave my partner and I more time to spend together.The food was phenomenal, even better than the last time as was the cocktails.Unfortunately we didnt catch our waitress name as it was so hectic. But she really was a superstar.We will definitely be back again.

The worst experience ever at a Restaurant , first of all Management did not wear any masks and it felt unsafe and uncomfortable, when the one Manager brought the food out he had no mask on and yet bend over my shoulder to give my food 😠 I have never after Covid started experienced a restaurant with this arrogance!!!!Their food was always of great quality but sadly not anymore. Very disappointing to see a big restaurant like this not knowing what medium rare is!!Extremely disappointed and annoyed with their arrogance, after the Manager asked how it was, I said terrible as why are they not wearing masks and he replied back saying they want customers to feel safe...yet still not reaching for his mask.Wow what a reply!!!!!!!!!

Terrible service. Cannot cope on busy days. Short staffed on waiters and kitchen staff. Seated at a table that was not cleared or clean. No covid compliance whatsoever . Sit and stared ay dirty plates glasses fingers bowls etc for 27min before 2 cokes were brought to the table. Tried to get waiters attention by was ignored was eventually told food would take a minimum of one hour so we left

Service is okay. The menu is too pricy for the quality of food that we received. The smoking area that is outside is not far enough so it spoils the non-smoking area inside.
