It was ok. A bit challenging if you are not fit. Steep incline to get to the top. Some seriously old algae mat fossils to be seen if you have a keen eye.The view is cool, I wont lie. But only worth doing once, in my opinion.

Great hike for the weekend. It is a strenuous hike, so you will need to be moderately fit and take plenty of water and snacks to keep your energy levels up.There isnt a lot of cover or shade. Be sure to apply sunscreen to avoid sunburn, its a good 3 hours hike minimum.The view makes the hike worth it!

An awesome hiking trail. Clearly marked all the way to and from the summit. The Magaliesberg at its majestic best as always. It is testing in parts, and you need to be reasonably fit. It is July, so nature is for the most part at rest, but still spectacular.

This is a fantastic trail. Well balanced, it has an easy route with some challenging portions to give you a workout. The view is certainly worth it! Make sure download the app for all the info, even with it, we got lost a few times; the directional markings could be better.

This is a challenging hiking trail but safety is a real issue. Please follow the rules at all times make sure you stick together as a group at all times and make sure your group has lots of Male and carry as less expensive possessions as possible because theres robbers on the trail.

Nice Hike to the top. The walk down was a little uneventful except for someone tripping on the stones and hurting an ankle. The views at the top are amazing, id suggest taking snacks to eat when you get there because after 2 hours going up, youd want to spend atleast an hour taking in those views.

Trail is awesome and well marked. The dam views are no more breathtaking like before due to the negligence by Goveement on the dam. Parking is not sufficient, unsafe due to no security. Hike at own risk. No signage as to where the venue is.

Beautiful trail. Excellently marked so you will never lose your way.You definitely need to book in advance. 20 people minimum is for safety as there are theives who target stray hikers.The hike is very taxing on your body and you need to be relatively fit to summit this hike.

Extremely Unsafe and Poor ManagementA group of 23 hikers visited the trail in August 2020. 14 of the hikers were mugged at knife point by six men, they were kicked and punched. As a result, one of the hikers have a cracked rib. All their valuables taken including car keys however, no vehicles were stolen.Once the hikers reached the exit, the security guard was informed. Management personnel arrived but did not approach the hikers to offer any sympathy. This is allegedly not the first time such has occurred but the hiking trail does not include this in the waiver signed before the hike.

Really a awesome day out to enjoy the beautiful outside. Love it.

Just wait for a clear day when the smog has cleared. Tough to do this with the long advanced planning needed so choose Spring time when the winds clean up the air!

It is a good hiking place for beginners. A 9km hiking trail. Classified as medium to difficult but I felt it was easy to medium. Im not a regular hiker and this is only my 4th hike.

Loved the view from the top of the trail,the hike is easy at the start but gets more challenging in the middle when you start walking up the mountain. The picnic area needs some shade area and benches!! Overall a great hiking trail!!
