Lovely restaurant with a beautiful ocean view wherever you sit. Theyve got a lovely bathroom with comfortable changing areas for those with kids.Our waitress was quite friendly and attentive considering she had so many tables.We had the savoury mince with chips and calamari with chips. Both were very good and quite flavourful although the cheese sauce on the pancake was a bit grainy. Cant remember the full name of the cocktail, Whale watcher something. It was good as well, perfect for those who dont want cocktails that are too sweet.

Absolutely amazing place to go to for delicious and fresh seafood. Stunning Seaview and got to see dolphins and whales. Will definitely be going back.

Great seaside atmosphere. Lovely seafood and a beer while watching the dolphins playing in the waves. One of our favourite spots in PE.

I loved it, it is a great homely restaurant with breathtaking ocean views (you almost always see dolphins)The food is delicious and not too pricey, the staff are very helpful and friendly, and they have a few beers on tap which is always nice. 👌They also follow covid regulations even when they were very busy

The food was great, specially the sea food platter, the fish was fresh. The waiting was a bit slow.

You cant go wrong to order a dish here. Tried something new today and was super impressed with chillie chicken salad. And to top it of there was 2 pods of dolphin playing in the surf.

The Sea View, from the outside seating we had, is to die for!! And I have never had more crispy and tasty fries with a meal than those at Barnacles!! Friendly and cosy place to relax! Thank you Barnacles!

You can tell this is a “must go place “Owners take personal care in making sure you have a good experience , food is good , and the cocktails are even better !

Very disappointing. Service was slow, food was cold, my steak which I ordered med/rare arrived med/well. Our waitron came to our table once to ask if we needed anything and taking into account how long we waited, was just not acceptable. The view over the sea is breathtakingly beautiful but our experience at the Restaurant took some of that shine away. Such a pity

I had a pleasantly wonderful experience here. There are clever puns all over the restaurant to spot, and I appreciate the sense of humour. The views of the ocean are stunning! And you can easily spend hours at the restaurant. The food is delicious and fresh and the staff are friendly and informative. It is a bit far out of town but totally worth the drive, and you can explore what is on the rocks while you are there. Highly recommended!

What a great restaurant with great service even though they had load shedding and limited kitchen available they still kept everyone informed. Food was also great! Thanks to our waiter Sheldon

15Jult 2020: the latest times are Mon - Sat : 09:00-17:00; Sun 09:00-15:00. Long ago: I popped in to update their opening times during the covid. Dont be jealous of me being here today...and you werent!!! It was a cold and rainy day today so the nice and hot Cappuccino with the view of a wild sea made a good start. Their liver with onions, bacon and egg is legendary amongst my friends, on toast of course and thats what we had for breakfast. The company was good, the service similar and we had our normal great time at this interesting venue.

Restaurant has a very nice sea view. Saw some dolphins hunting and playing in the waves.The staff is very friendly. Food freshly made so you wait a while but its worth it!! Chips you wont get anywhere else and the seafood is well prepared.

Always good to have brunch here, if you ate lucky you can see dolphins and whales.

This restaurant has amazing sea views from the outside deck while you can order and eat while looking at the sea. Their service was quick and friendly and we didnt have to wait very long for the food.

The hake itself wasnt bad but the beef burger and chicken schnitzel were dry. The seafood platter for 2 was not value for money; the prawns were overcooked and tasteless and the calamari was average; not worth R370.We also felt the meals were over overpriced, especially since sides (including chips) have to be ordered at an additional cost; R78 for a single piece of hake.We expected more from a seafood restaurant.

Best sea view out of town

The most incredible ocean views. We watched the sun set in the best setting possible. Food could have been better, but staff was very friendly and helpful, and you just cant beat that oceanside setting!

Once again a great experience. The food was tasty and portion size just right. Owners are welcoming and the service is good. The view and sunset is breathtakingly beautiful.

What a great experience we had! This restaurant overlooks the ocean with a 180 degree ocean view. Their seafood is very fresh and the table service is excellent. Also, we saw dolphins!! Amazing atmosphere, awesome cocktails and one of the best malva puddings Ive ever had. If you feel like a short holiday by the sea this is the place to go.

Food great but service is non existent. I dont mind waiting for food when freshly prepared. Ordered second round of drinks which never arrived. Bill took extremely long to arrive. There is no excuse for poor service. Owners responsibility to ensure waiting staff is compitent.

When the day is perfect, there is no other place to enjoy your seafood experience than at barnacles Restaurant.

The view was spectacular! Also like it that there isnt music playing, just the sound of the ocean.The calamari was great, but the hake is better at almost any cornershop cafė. The chips were good too, but for some reason I got a total of 5 whereas people with me got plenty. We never received the appetizers they said they would bring. Beer was cold and crisp. Prices are very steep for what you get. R175 for a small portion of calamari and a small hake with 5 chips is not cheap in my book.Our waitress was a darling and super good conversationalist. She had us in stiches a few times.Covid protocols are very loosely implemented with groups of people coming into the restaurant without masks and not sanitising upon entry without anyone monitoring it.I guess we might visit again, but well be looking for something better.

Good view of the sea, saw a pod of dolphins past. Service was good, Fishermans breakfast was tasty and the coffee good.
