The place is small for the price you pay the wifi go on and off

Positive: Lovely location that was close to the shops and where I needed to be. The host was incredibly friendly and I was very impressed with the overall service and value.. Negative: Pretty satisfied with what we had..

Negative: The hospitality was disappointing... as we were chilling till late, the property manager switch off our WI-Fi that connect to the TV... breakfast was not served as it promised to do so according to the benefits of the room. Would never consider staying there again..

Highly upset ;-(Visited Die Plaashuis, Barrie street, George, on Monday 25.02.19Paid for 2 nights stayupon arrival we were allocated a room, we opened the back door and there was dead geckos between the door and the door frame, the toilet in the room was leaking.when we started unpacking etc, we noticed that the clothing cupboard in the room, was full of dust, and in one of the drawers there was a stack op missing paperwork,cards,wallets etc, we notified the owners etc, relieved they advised us that they were looking for these docs and are happy it was found. We were happy that we could help.We were moved from the one room to another - as we entered the room seemed to look like an upgraded room, as this suite had a kitchen, a bathroom, 2 rooms -upon unpacking once again- we noticed a lot of dead spiders and spider webs on the walls - we called it in, and the cleaning lady came a and dusted it off, still we were not agitated and rude to the owner or cleaners, as things like that does happen , so we understood that. Once that was sorted out, we wanted to use the microwave in the kitchen to prepare supper, when we opened the microwave there was old food in a glass bowl, and a lot of fruit flies came flying out of the microwave - we reported that - still we did not have any attitude or rudeness toward the staff - we then noticed a lot of mosquitos(which is not a issue as the room was under a lot of trees) we then went to the reception and asked for a mosquito/bug plug that we could plug into the wall, the owners wife happily provided us with one of those . That night whilst trying to sleep etc, we were constantly being bitten by something - so we thought, but to our surprise we had no visible markings on our bodies the following day - so that could have been that our skins were maybe too sensitive for the washing powder that was used to wash bedding etc.the following morning - i addressed all these issues with the owner - and still speaking in a normal calm voice, not raising my voice or throwing tantrums, i asked the owner if he could refund me the second nights stay, as the Tuesday would have been the second night i paid for - and he promptly advised me that their policy is no cash refund , however if something had to happen and we had to leave in a hurry we would get a discount on the following visit -I feel that after the first lot of issues we encountered at the first room, we wouldnt have any other problems. That when we advised about all the other issues at the second room, that there could have at least been some form of compromise from the owneri feel that we were treated unfairly, and that the owner could have at least given us half the deposit back, if he didnt want to give the full R600, because of their policy.As for Wifi - we couldnt use it at allThus i had to pay for another nights accommodation at a different guest house, and loose the R600 for the Tuesday night.

We are pet friendly and charge a rate R80/day per pet for their stay.We have a R400 refundable deposit payable on arrival, for keys & remote and damages.DE PLAASHUIS is anthing but Pet-friendly as advertised, yet theyll happily take R80 PER DAY PER DOG!We were asked to pay a R600 RE-FUNDABLE DEPOSIT and they spent our entire visit trying to find reasons not to give it back.They offer below budget accommodation and find every reason to charge you for something. You dont get what you pay for. There is no wifi and you are bothered by the staff constantly.Certainty not a relaxing stay.

Great rustic place

Quiet. Old old farm house. Dutch style.

Will never ever go back there again. My husband suffered of hayfever the whole time. They told us we were booked in honeymoon suite. But it turned out to be a dormetory room fit for 5 people. I was highly disappointed. Not to even speak about the spears hanging in the room. Never again!!!

Ek en my familie het die 23ste September by De Plaashuis ingeklok vir die lang naweek. Ons was woonagtig in die Hoenderhok. Dit was regtig so lekker naweek, sal enige tyd weer teruggaan daarheen. Dankie Juan vir jul gasvryheid en aangename atmosfeer. Hopelik sien ons julle binnekort weer ☺️
