The staff was very accommodating, friendly etc.and definately deserve a 110%.The breakfast and room service was excellent and also deserve a 110%.The room was spacious,clean and had a beautiful view of the estate and the ocean. There is however a few things that needs attention. The curtains and lace curtains need a proper wash. The walls need to be repainted as its peeling at a few places. Therefore maintenance gets a 70%. ( Please bare in mind that Covid 19 has a big part to play in this Department)Really did enjoy our stay and will be back.

Staff is friendly and rooms are nice and spacious. Breakfast service is a disaster. Every man for himself at the cooking station, theres only one lady frying eggs and making omelets. Coffee machine ran out multiple times, or no cups available. Bread ran out multiple times, staff just standing there and not it taking any initiative replacing the items.

A pleasant stay but spoiled by Covid 19 restrictions. Hotel services reduced and facilities closed despite being advertised on the website.

Very nice place, great location and views. The hotel staff are great, however I cant say the same about their harolds restaurant staff.

Not good, electrical problem with room, although the staff were alerted, reluctant to assist. Moving us to another room after 20:00 seemed to be a big problem. Requested 4 times for electric problem to be corrected. Turns out db box faulty. Loadshedding just an excuse. Must say breakfast was great.

Beautiful venue. Really good facilities for most ages. The toddler sections with jungle gym needs a bit more work. But sports and activity Centre has more r Jan enough to keep slightly older kids busy. Then spa, golf, etc... Means there is enough to keep you occupied on the premises.Access control can become frustrating with having to get a new access code everyday rather than a set code for your full stay. But that is just something small.Overall an awesome experience. I would go back again.

Front desk staff were wonderful. They allowed us to partially book in when we arrived 3 hours early, then called us when the room was ready. Guest service and cleaning let them down a bit. We had to call Guest Services twice before someone came out for the aircon. General wear and tear is obvious, you can see there are signs its struggling. Food was excellent, both breakfast and dinner ordered from the Bistro.

I think they have a standard policy for group tours, they dont consider the group tours as guests, i requested them to refill the toiletries not once but twice in two days, they didnt even care, I had to go and get it for myself. Lovely stay at Oubaai last week despite the weather not playing along. Although still a fine hotel, it’s apparent where COVID has had an impact - meals all rather average, not many staff around, and general maintenance required.

Loved the place. Classy. All the staff very friendly all round. From housekeeping through to F & B. Will recommend to family and friends. Nice for kids too.

Its mine and my husbands 2nd stay here and this time it coincides with his birthday and fathers day. I can definitely say nothing has changed since 2017 (Pre covid), we love the spacious rooms, gorgeous views, mouth watering breakfast and outstanding service. It feels our honeymoon all over again, I cant wait to experience the spa tomorrow.

Hotel was excellent, rooms large and very comfortable. Service was good but the hotel was very empty - presume covid restrictions but maybe also the time of year. Very nice pool and deck area just a shame there is not a better view of the sea.Breakfast really was good. Will definitely stay a couple of days on the next bike trip.

This hotel did not reflect 5 star (luxury) at all. I would expect friendly staff welcoming you with a drink and providing you with a generous stay. The opposite was the case. Staff was unfriendly, hotel was in horrible shape (e.g. wallpapers coming off the walls) and breakfast was lacking quality (e.g. no freshly squeezed orange juice). I had the impression that this hotel used to be of the Hyatt group, but has been dropped and is now lacking budget. Wouldn’t come again...

Staff at the hotel, restuarant, proshop very friendly. The golf course is in top notch with spectacular views. Mrs and I went for a body treatment at Freesia Spa, and had an absolute wonderful experience. Amber, Daniella and Yolanda, you guys are super stars. We will definitely visit again.

The venue is located in the beautiful herolds baai area which in itself you need to visit and have a swim at...the staff is extremely friendly, the venue has views over the sea, gold course, mountains... The rooms are 10 star... Spacious, extra king beds... Showers and bath, black out curtains, balcony over a beautiful pool for kids and adults, 3 restaurants, tennis court, gym... It has it all... Price is well below what the rooms are worth... Breakfast is amazing... More than enough for anyone... Highly recommended for couples or family unit...

Not impressed at all.Poor serves. The waiters did not clean the tables. The buffet was very limited but they asked the same price as in then past.Cutlery did not matxh. They had 5 different glasses and you can see it was not intentional they just die not have sufficient glasses.The plates were not uniform.We waited for 10 minutes at the time for the waiter /manager to attend to us to be able to pay our breakfast.Would not recommend it at all

Best buffet style breakfast. Ocean view room, with king size bed, overhead shower en bathtub. What a treat. Personally id suggest they put out more plates for breakfast, thus cutting down the time spend standing around waiting foe plates and glasses.

Stayed for one night enroute to Cape Town. Rooms are outstanding. Good security. Impressed with the fact that you need to use your room card in the lift to access your floor. Room service and food was excellent. A great experience. Staying there again in two weeks time on our way back from CT.

Hotel was clean, staff were friendly and always willing to assist. Rooms are large and the bathroom has an amazing finishing and layout. Should you want to do a tour around the Hotel, youve been chauffeured with a Cart. Food at the canteen was great and breakfast has a variety to choose and accommodates everyone.

Its was ok for a one nighter. Mouldy smell in room. Expected much more.

Really beautiful place

It is not value for money. The food is not nice and you drive 20 minutes to get to town. The menu is boring, they do not clean up the table during breakfast, you supposed to ask them, always run out of glasses.no trolley for someone to help you with the luggage. Our balcony has never been cleaned and we asked for them to clean it but they didnt. There is one lady who was very friendly at the reception bit i doubt i will ever ckme back here again.

Beautiful surroundings including the secluded Herolds Bay beach. Hotel accommodation was great. We had a sea facing room with a stunning view across the golf course. The room and amenities were great. Breakfast selection was plentiful and delicious. If you enjoy smoked salmon you have to order via one of the waiters. Dinner is available from 2 restaurants, we tried the more family oriented Herolds Bistro which has an extensive menu. Pork ribs and pizza was great. Overall a great experience and we will be back.

This was such a lovely venue for the conference i attended there. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The food was also very good especially the breakfast.They have a wonderful setting and it is a perfect venue for hosting social events.There was a restaurant we went to on the premises the night before, although it wasnt quite that easy to find and we got lost a couple of times.Although, overall this is such a classy place to visit if you are ever that side. I unfortunately cant tell you about the hotel it self because we didnt sleep there , but i am sure it would have been a wonderful experience especially with the golf course.

Not so good as expected, got the junior suite at a lower price. Cleaniness 2/10 we werr on ground floor, no lights were working outside, felt unsafe, no outside furniture on stoep, most dstv channels were out 80% of our 6 day stay. Wifi unsecured, dining room lights didnt work, bedroom sliding door did not lock at all.Spa was great - 5star as expected.Whale deck beautifull but not allowed to drive by ourselves, hotel staff took us.Laundry too expensive - but well notified beforehand.Bistro food was devine and 5 star as expectedAnd final, we did not get a sea view unit 🙁🥺

I cannot recommend this place enough. Its breathtakingly beautiful and the service is out of this world. I will return here as much as I can. I absolutely love it and the rooms are maintained to an extremely high standard. Wow this is worth every star I can give it.

We visited on our honeymoon and have some mixed feelings about our stay. Hotel is perhaps still struggling a bit after Covid-19. Dirty dishes left in passageway outside our door for 2 days and the room wasnt very clean (dirty cups, spoon and tub).Rooms are quite nice otherwise and still quite luxurious. We enjoyed the bistro and breakfast a lot.The hotel itself is very neat and professional and porters are nice. We did however feel a bit deceived when they gave us a standard room with a sea view (for R300 upgrade) and the room didnt even have a good view of the sea. We had initially asked that if an upgrade to a king club room was R300, then please charge us R300 per night, and we were charged R300 extra, but not given a club room. We did show the email communication but we were told this is not possible as a club room is not R300.... Perhaps Ou baai didnt read the email properly, or perhaps it was deliberate false advertising (well let you decide).We also had asked via telephone about club rooms and club house cocktail benefits for R300 upgrade but on arrival it seems that you dont get this benefit due to covid in any case(so dont waste your money)We have emailed ou baai and received a response that they will take this into consideration in future.

Beautiful venue that is still recovering from COVID lockdown.

Must admit to being disappointed after my first stay at Oubaai. When I arrived the key to the room didn’t work. Two more trips to reception and still couldn’t get into the room. Room was switched out. Power was out when I returned after dinner and struggled to find the room.I left my Kindle behind in the room by mistake. Emailed and called hotel who promised to check and call back. No return call. No kindle. Not what I expected from a 5 star resort.

No one there ... no restautant ... no nothing ... should close down the hotel until they can do it properly ...

Oubaai hotel is one of the best properties I have stayed in. It offers you the perfect experience to relax and have fun. It has 3 different restaurants for you to enjoy delicious food. Spa and recreational facilities are available too. Although the recreational facilities like table tennis, lawn tennis is chargeable if you rent the equipment from the hotel. Lots of park space if you want to bring your own drive. Great staff and definitely an amazing place to stay

We had a wonderful time here and extended for 1 night longer. The room are very big with comfortable beds.The variety of the breakfast is just great. If you stay at the hotel they charge you 200R less for the greenfee. The golf course is in very good shape.

The best place ever. Clean and beautiful rooms. The guy at the reception was great. Great customer experience and the breakfast was amazing. Atmosphere so great and a young man named Sherwin is great at providing great service. Will highly recommend this place and will go back soon.

Lovely venue

Mixed feelings about the place. The views are just fantastic, look and feel of the rooms and the hotel is also great. Where they lack are service manner attitude and staffing. The day we arrived at the hotel itself there was no one at the lobby and the lady standing there was on the phone and ignored me. Someone came to check me in after 15 min of waiting. The telephone in my room refused to work. Later when we were heading for dinner there are no signs which say where we should have dinner (FYI its this Herald Bar or something) we went to the all day diner they said the dinner is else where, when we went there they sent us somewhere else. Service etiquettes and standard are neglected and worst part was the discrimination we had, we sat on the bench kind of table where everyone got a cushion me and my family didnt get it... Horrible experience will never recommend for service, however the product you have is great. Change your staff or teach them how to behave.
