Dont make the mistake of ordering teppanyaki if youre not seated upstairs - you will wait over 90 minutes for your food that takes 5 - 7 minutes to prepare. The staff in the kitchen do not keep their masks on and most of the waiters (when they do arrive at your table) have their masks below their nose. Very poor experience overall.
I cannot believe how far the standards have dropped at this RJs. The last time I ate there was in November 2020 and the food was excellent, service great. This time I was on holiday again so decided to take my in-laws and my family for a steak that we had been really looking forward to.Firstly we got seated and the waitress gave us our menus and I noticed a few of the speciality steaks were off the new menu, but after 15 minutes of waiting I had to go call her to take our order. 5 minutes later she was there. We told her our order. She informed us they did not have fillet steak (I dont understand how that can be possible on a busy Saturday night) but I said okay its fine just use an alternative cut. She said she still had to charge us fillet prices. I was really looking forward to the steak so I said okay and the order was placed. We waited 50 minutes and no feedback was given (the place was not even full perhaps 3 quarters full) so I had to get up once again to enquire and our food started arriving thereafter. To be short, the steak was of poor quality, 3/10 orders the steak was not done as requested, and we were more than halfway through our meal when I had to ask again where are our drinks. She seemed flustered and ran off to bring drinks. This took another 10 minutes and almost everyone was done with their meal.Spoke to the manager a few times during the night who seemed clueless in how to actually go about running the place and offered no apologies. All in all a disappointing experience and sad for me who used to enjoy a great meal at a place which I will never visit again.
Halaal! 👌Visited on a Sunny Saturday. Very clean establishment, serious covid protocols in effect. Waiter was friendly and efficient. Service was very quick. Was part of a table of 10 patrons, no hiccups in service. 👌The Food.. Overall very good👍 meats were cooked as per request. Teppanyaki was amazing. They offer a seating area where you can watch the teppanyaki being prepared. The Milkshakes are SUBLIME. ABSOLUTELY DECADENT. Try any of them, you will not be disappointed 🤣.They also have a supervised play area that the kids apparently love✌.Overall a good lunch experience. Will visit again. Recommended 👍👌
Excellent food and service from a well known restaurant.Food was cooked well and presented well. Menu seems to be smaller than before Covid but still a good variety available.Portion sizes are medium but you do get what you pay for.
Super friendly staffs, meals were hot and sizzling the portions was amazing thats the place Id go for every occasion, well worth it for its prices amazing place to be such a cosy atmosphere. Simply love it!
This was the first time we came here. No direction from downstairs. No juices available. My wife had to take carbonated soft drink. This is sad because first impressions last. I dont think i will return. Thanks
Very family friendly. Kids love the experience of the play area and the food is excellent.
Everything was perfect from the starter to the desert. I wouldnt opt for another option asides the tepanyanki.Starters: Chicken livers in creamy Perry Perry sauce.Main: Fillet steak tepanyaki and egg fried rice.Drink: PinacolladaDesert: Chocolate volcanoPlease open a branch in Johannesburg and capetown soon😀
Honestly the experience was one which would essentially terminate my visiting this restaurant ever again in the future. I went in for breakfast one Saturday morning and the restaurant had not been packed. When my order was taken the waitress had neglected to ask me how I like my eggs and I had to remind her. She didnt give us a drink menu or ask what wed like to drink. When we did place our order finally, we had a 50 minute wait.. FOR BREAKFAST. Literally eggs, rashers, sausages and toast(for two) . We paid for our drinks and left. Utterly disappointed.
A good eating house in a good locationJust know how to get thereNeed more people to choose the correct entrance to make google maps change the entrance to the correct oneA decent menuSpecials are lackingGeneralquiet during the weekFrequency of patrons increases on the weekendsGreat on the floor help from manager and staffAll round Management can improveGreat kids play areaSafe secure parking as outside guardsThe food came to the table quicklyAll the above makes for a very delightful outingBe good do good spread good
On principle I never give 1 stars to Halal establishments , but exceptionally bad food comes with exceptions I suppose .I ordered a cheesy jalapeño Burger , with a coke . After an hour and a half I got a cheese burger , still no drink in sight .The most interesting part is ... I never disliked coke reducing their cans from 330ml to 300ml. I mean it wasn’t cool and the price stayed the same . But I really hated it at this restaurant because it robbed me of 10% of the only thing that had flavor .It’s been getting rave reviews from people , and I don’t understand why , perhaps they are used to terrible service at high prices . Perhaps those reviewers aren’t disclosing that they were paid to prop up an untrained staff behind a reputable brand piggybacking off the Previous RJs on Florida good name .If the current owner were wise , they’d know this is no way to make a Food “Empire “
Excellent experience and very good customer experience. Keep up the good service. Staff is always pleasant and friendly.
Loved the teppanyaki grill. A must do in Durban for a halaal experience...
Good service.Good food.Nice set up.One of my 3 top places to have a steak
This place deserves to get more traction and attention. The staff is friendly and chatty and the teppanyaki is truly entertaining to watch. The food is so good everyone I was with was asking the chef what seasoning and sauces was in the food so that we could all replicate it at home, lol. I suggest the mango daiquiri (its non-alcoholic, the place is halaal).
(Rjs Argyle road) - - Honestly, if negative ratings were available, Id use it!! Gave this restaurant another chance to redeem itself... We visited them 2 yrs back and vowed to never return... But... We believe in second chances and unfortunately should have stuck to our guns. Pathetic service. My mom and I were seated, which seemed unnecessary as the restaurant literally had only 4 tables occupied...we were told a waiter would be with us.... 20min lapsed and nothing..... I managed to wave down the manager who approached with a smile (no mask) and sent over Shadrack. He took our order and returned a while after with our drinks and starters... The nachos were missing the sour cream which was never brought to the table. Before the starters were cleared from the table, the mains were brought out.... Cold and missing our top up request which came at the end of our meal because the waiter did not bother to return to our table and check if everything was ok or in order. Again, the restaurant was not full.. Plenty open tables and plenty staff chilling, talking, screaming to each other... Having fun. Waited forever for the bill, then waited forever for the card machine.... I mean this was an overall ridiculous experience. The lack of attention, service and efficiency is appalling. I am surely never going back, whether or not that means anything to the owners or managers wont be surprising to me. I am utterly disappointed and astonished. To top it off there were no sanitizers on the tables.... Staff were wearing their masks like a chin cover and the manager was not wearing a mask at all. People are losing their lives and loved ones and it seems like this place is on another planet where none of this matters. Sigh.... An absolute let down and distasteful experience. Never ever to be repeated!!!!
Exquisite steak. Enjoyed the fillet steak teppanyaki, not enough to re order however. The noodles were far better than the rice in my opinion. The uppermost seating was quite hazy and smoked up as well as being uncomfortably hot. The kids play area was extremely helpful in keeping the children occupied.
Great portions at reasonable prices.Completely halaal....super friendly staff.Good value for money
One of the best steakhouses Ive been to. Seafood here is great. I like that there are also curries on the menu and the food is very flavorful
Terrific staff and venue. Kids get to enjoy their time as well.
They have ample space, great food and prices are reasonable.
What an awesome experience. Great food, great service. Everything was on point, spot on. Menu catered for everyone. Staff were friendly. Definitely going back... The Munsurs
Such a bad service with such bad staff member. Full of attitude and trying to be cool by saying I don’t care.... needs a lot of improvement.
Food, venue and decor were fantastic. Great steakhouse. A little complicated to arrive at and unfortunate temperature control failure but otherwise a nice experience with prayer and kids facilities. Improvement from the last visit at the previous location. Will certainly visit again
Delicious food. Steak was great. Served a good portion. Chips were fresh. Service was incredible.
If you like well done/overcooked steak, this is the place to go. Thats the only way they know how to prepare it!
Had my childs 6th birthday here. Was such a success. They gave us a good time. Kids enjoy the play area. Our waiter Sam n host Jackie were amazing. Keep us the good standard
The best steak I had since I started eating steak. Awesome same day next month.
The food was good. Service was excellent too. The steaks were tasty. Place was a little hot tho.
Had my husbands birthday here, was such a success. IQ the manager and the staff Harmony and Simon as well were absolutely incredible, friendly, and so helpful. All my needs as well as my guests were catered too exceptionally well. So pleased. Would definitely recommend RJs Premier for all occasions. Thank you guys for making our experience a memorable one. ☺☺☺
Food was amazing, so where our waiters. Tepanyaki was prepared to perfection
Its clean and good halal family restaurants
Simply DeliciousDate: 16/06/2019TeppanyakiOrdered beef fillet and king prawnsBeef was made to medium rare perfection that just melted in your mouth. The Soi sauce and noodles complemented the dish very well...The prawns were just as good....generous amounts of butter, garlic and Chili, A mouthgasm indeedHighly recommend Teppanyaki if you can get a booking 😀
Never again. Too long wait for food to arrive.
I had a rib and steak combo, which was prepared to perfection👌🏻 RJs never disappoint
Food is AMAZING. Service EXCELLENT. Thank you. Will be a definite stop when visiting Dbn. Lamb bunny....finger licken good.
Very tasty and delicious. I would recommend it to alot of people
Good service....and nice food
O wow.Really amazing food.Ordered ribs. Was well cooked, tender and juicy.
Food was poor. Ordered I medium rump. It came more than well done
Good experience. Teppanyaki is a must visit although they could use more interaction
The nachos were good however I was surprised that it was not served with guacamole. I was very disappointed with my steak, which was dry and hard. The basting has way too much of vinegar. My onion rings arrived at the table and the waitress did bring us a freshly fried serving. Today was a reminder of why I stopped eating at RJs.
Sunday breakfast buffet was really great. Food was delicious with a wide variety and service was spot on. And most impressive the store was open and ready for service at 9am
Really nice.. Awesome kids play area.. Foods good.. Very nice layout..
Precious here, I would love to commend RJs on the excellent service they provided. Everything was on point from the decor, to the service right through to the food. They made our birthday party one worth experiencing 🥰. We absolutely enjoyed ourselves🤭
Just beware they serve off food to your kids. Management is unapologetic.Pity they used to be good.
Food is 5 🌟 service is excellent prices are on the mark,,What epse u can ask for
Absolutely Awesome! Good food! And the chef was really fascinating to watch! Excellent.
Recently used their private space upstairs for a friends bridal shower. The service was awesome and the food was amazing. Their menu caters for everyone, from grills to burgers and curries.
As usual top delicious food
Had a wonderful experience at the Tepinyake section. All staff were friendly and extremely helpful.special credit to Mdu (the chef). He was entertaining, informative and made the overall experience more enjoyable. an asset to RJs!
Great woks and Teppanyaki. Only issue is never have i ever seen tomato sauce being used in Japanese cuisine. Destroys the dish
Tasty food. Good service. Large play area for kids with child minders. Beware.. stairs.
The steak was like overcooked , too dry. Overall good place , chicken was amazing, juggets for kids was fresh and crispy, the kids play area was awesome, fresh chips was good.
SlmzThe service was excellent n the food was divine
The first thing when you arrive the official entrance is via Florida road to 8th avenue till the end. The guards are very friendly. The ground floor is for after hours. The floors above are regular hours. The decor and feel is very nice and clean. It is very suitable for family outings. The seating is comfortable and there is a huge play area for kids. The menu is quite long. The wait is not too long, the staff is friendly and you can see into the kitchen which makes me feel very confident that they do everything above board. The food itself looks great and but for me it is missing something, bland comes to mind (personally). Proportions are fair. I feel this place is expensive, R300/person including drinks and desert. You cant run out of ribs as a steak house and not replace that days special with another special.
All the hype about RJs Premier I now see why.The food was delicious. Served on time. No delays and everything was on point. The staff were very welcoming, making sure that we were good, always there checking if we needed anything which showed really good workmanship. From my experience, RJs Premier is a must try. Well done team RJs
Good food..good vibe!
I just ordered a steak via Mr D. I specified medium rare it is so overcooked , dry and chewy. I wont be ordering from Rjs again
We enjoyed our meals. The steaks were prepared to expectations. I was really impressed. The restaurant was a bit overcrowded. I could barely converse with my family, due to the loud atmosphere. Wait staff are fairly attentive. A fair experience overall.
We (myself and 2 visitors from CPT) got there minutes before the kitchen could close. We were welcomed and never once felt rushed to leave. The service was excellent and the waiter was awesome. The food was exceptionally good as well. Definitely a place to dine at when in Durban.
Consistent in preparing meals of substandard quality, all round. Sadly, it gets worse each time. Customer service is extremely poor! It just doesnt cut it 👎
The ribs are a must try. service can b improved
Great food
This was the longest wait ever. They brought the wrong size steak. Service was fairly good. Only had Coke as a beverage. Wont be visiting again.
What an awesome experience. The GM IQ personally delivered my meal to the guest house where I was staying. The food was spectacular and the personal service was really appreciated. Well done IQ!!
If you want to waste your hard earned money on terrible service and distasteful food, then this is the place to go. I wish to could give it a NO star.
