Can anyone tell me where about in durban there are because this place has been converted into a hotel after the fire
This restaurant was recommended to me by a local as the best place to get bunny chow, Durban South Africas most popular dish and it was delicious. For newbies, this dish is a bread loaf stuffed with chicken and potato and then curry sauce is poured over the top and on the sides. It is a quaint sit down restaurant with formal table setting, but you can eat for less than $7 US per person.
They are renovating at the moment so it may be things still the get up and running. It seems that it may not be the same team as before and thus may not be the same taste as before. You may like it as I dont know what the fuss was about the first time around. The food is okay and somewhat different from other eastern restaurants. The prices are okay and there is a large range. I did see the effort in service and they delivered close by without charge. For that well done.
You want naaaan? Were the only words from our waiter after replying no he continued to stare us down until he eventually left. The food was good but the service and restaurant were not up to par at all. The wait for the food was very long.
We went to the newly opened restaurant in Amanzimtoti. Best curry I ever had. Full of flavour and tender. We also had some cheese & onion samoosas. The service was world class. Every question we had on the menu was answered and good recommendations was given.
Opening soon
Great place, always perfect food, and very much family friendly
They currently closed due to a fire and unsure of any details about opening up again. Used to sell good halal food with good choices.
The decorations are very basic. The food is ok .The pricing is ok .The menu has no descriptions (a massive con in my opinion).Overall this place is average, just average.TL:DRId eat there once in a while but not every month here .
Al Mehran has moved to South Beach near Durban sands Hotel. Still the best chicken tikka in Durban
Simply .. don’t even think of going there ... that’s my say
