Absolutely disappointed we just ordered 2 lamb breyanis food was drenched in egg yellow salt was less and for 120rand I really did expect more meat instead just a whole lot of grainy rice and a small piece of hard potato the kids chicken and chips was kebabs that was flame grilled I assume they were nice just too much salt but guys this is one place I will never support again the previous chef was amazing but with the new chef Id would of rather feed my family toast and black tea

Authentic North Indian food experience with great service from Pintu, who made us feel at home. We had sweetcorn and cheese samoosas, paneer kadai and garlic naan bread which was all very tasty. Good value for money too. A newly established restaurant worthy of support - make a point of giving them a try when you next visit Umhlanga, Durban.

They made a very tasty mix veg curry. If only the veg was cooked more.. Used frozen veg n it was just heated up. Good potential

Absolute gem of a restaurant. Great tasting Indian food at very reasonable prices, lovely setting and such friendly owners/chefs. Will definitely be going back again. The chicken biryani and the sogee were top notch

A bit aggravated with the whole situation. Dont get me wrong I ordered the butter chicken and its delicious however the Naan is a bit disappointing very tasteless and chewy.The chicken briyani is more rice than anything else however the most disappointing thing of the whole situation is that you have to order the rice separately it does not come with the curry and for the price of the food I would expect rice to be included.Even more no one made us aware that the meal does not come with rice so how are we supposed to know I expect rice with the dish and if its not included I expect to be told about it.

Bought Tandoori chicken and butter naan it is sour. I phoned them and told then the chef is asking what must do if it is sour. I wont ever go there

My daughter, son in law, 2 grandkids and 2 mum in laws arrived at about 8.15pm on Sunday at Crown of India and were treated absolutely wonderfully. We received a service worthy of royalty by the staff and the chef who took time out to chat with us. Thank you for the most awesome experience tasting Indian food outside of my home and is definitely my new favourite go to place when Im next in Durban.

The food was excellent. We entered hungry and left more than satisfied. So many great dishes on the menu. Tried the roganjosh and tandoori chicken. Both meals an absolute hit. The kebab starter was very tasty, especially the lamb chops! The naans were so fresh, soft and yummy. Everything was done so well that we are looking forward to returning very soon. What a classy restaurant serving exceptionally great tasting Indian food!

I like this place. The staff are friendly. The meals are slightly cheaper than similar places while the food is just as good and in the case of some meals, better.

Ordered 5 portions of lamb breyani for take away . Each portion was sold at R120 each. Meal was filled with rice , had to sift through to find a maximum for 3 or 4 pieces of meat which was overpowered by breyani riceVery disappointing purchaseEach of the 5 takeaways had the same minimum bites of meat. Will not be returning.

Food was very bland...poor service...I was asked could I order Asian food at an Indian restaurant it was simply to test the versatility of the chefs and in that department they failed which I was expecting but the breyani was an even further disappointment... granted...this was in November 2018 so hopefully they have improved

Just finished a takeaway from Crown of India. Had the kebab platter and rotti. Brother had the paneer tikka with rice and aloo paratha. The best Indian food we have had in a long time. Friendly staff and reasonable prices. Will be back there for sure! Keep doing what you doing guys!

This is one of the best indian resturants in Durban. If u looking for an authentic indian meal this is the place to go. You can choose how hot or mild you want your food. Im a regular here and will continue to suport them. They are an upclass resturant but wont hurt your wallet. Recommend the beans bunny , mutton bunny, and the butter chicken.
