I have just had the worst experience ever. I received my Builders card just over a week ago and since then i have been receiving on average three marketing emails per day. Each one i have attempted to unsubscribe but this makes no difference. I find it amazing that a listed company can have such scant regard for the new POPI act. Builders sort yourselves out!

Good range of products. However, slightly more expensive than other similar stores.

Although the store is lovely, they didnt have basic items or were sold out on what we need, that aside ,I would go back if I had needed to but the staff were so slow and some so rude. Card machines were not in proper working order. Management hadnt been notified of faulty machines. I waited over 30 mins in the store for various points of help.

Went in to buy white modelling clay but there was only one unit on the shelf. A teller made the special effort of sourcing more from stock after I enquired. This is customer service to be commended. Sorry I did not get her name but I am sure management will able to trace her to express my gratitude.

To be honest, this is hands down the best builders. They are super helpful. Everyone in there wants to help you. Its super great.

Most unhelpful staff. Store is out of stock all the time. Items on website are never available and when you go into the store to order they dont know what ypu are referring to even though its on the website. Dont waste your time rather go to Mica. Mica is half the size and always has what Builders does not have.

Worst customer service! Not a single staff member on the floor to help customers! I Waited for 30 minutes for someone to assist me. The help desk called for staff to assist 5 times, but No-one came. Loads of tellers to take your money but not one person to assist. Shocking! I eventually left

No assistance from floor staff, we had to pick up and carry a 20l paint from the back of a stack all by ourself and incorrect price on item

Builders used to be my go to hardware store for everything from flanges to specialised car polishes. This past week I needed an epoxy glue to repair a broken toilet seat. I looked up the price on the Builders website and it was listed at R55. 00, so off I went to buy my epoxy. I walked in and was struggling to find the adhesives aisle and was dismayed to find assistants remaining rooted to their stations as if keeping goal for Chelsea! No assistance was volunteered despite the fact that I passed them at least twice. Then, to add insult to injury, when I finally did find my epoxy it was now marked at R85!Its sad how lack of consistency and a feeling that the staff are just getting through the day can impact ones opinion of a store.It felt a little like disinterested extortion!

Ease of access and systematic layout is the default strength of these Home Depot style retailers. The problem is that help on the floor from staff is a challenge when looking for very specific items. Ready help is hard to find in the presence of nonchalance.

At collection you first cant go in with your vehicle because of space, when you in the staff ignores you for up until you go inside and act.

I placed an order (3 Feb 2021) with the builder warehouse website. I Used the payment option for instant EFT (PAYU.COM). Supply and Delivery by the Durban North Branch.The payment was deducted from my bank account , but did not reflect on the builders warehouse system. I have made 8 phonecalls and sent 6 emails with no success in bringing this matter to a resolution . Due to the delay i went down to a builders warehouse , placed a new order and got it delivered , this was paid for by credit card. I simply would like a refund of the amount that i paid online. I have spoken to Zonke , Anastasia , Aisha , Jolene and other call centre operators. I have requested to speak to a manager to file a complaint. I have requested to have this referred to senior management . No success. Please dont use builders online system , as their systems are poor and not service orientated. Legendary poor service.

There is sufficient store personnel on the floor to assist. What makes this hardware store branch unique as well is they have a big nursery as well. Where you can buy plants soil, fertilizer herbs etc.

This place always has everything that weve ever gone there for. Staff very knowledgeable and helpful. Thank you for all your great service.

So much for customer service got here 5 minutes late after they closed just needed 1 bag of concrete mix to complete a project at home, they blatantly refused even asked to speak to management they also refused although there was customers still inside, definitely wont becoming back here

Bad service ended up helping my self had to wait 30 minutes for someone to eventually show up to help me with a special then with a photo and names brand of equipment they still didnt know what was going on they got onto the computer and took 10minutes to find the inventory in the stocks list it took me 1 minute to find all available stock in kwazulu natal at each branch on the internet very incompetent workers

Worst customer experience by far from trying to sell plascon paint products that are past their expiration date to waiting for up to 45 minutes to get service and having no stock of products required for site wasted my travel expenses as well as staff to be paid for work I do not recommend anyone to buy from here

Very large hardware store with just about everything you would need in general. But if you want a specialization tool then they might not be able to assist. Nice selection of gardening assortments as well.

Helpful friendly staff. Wide range of products for all your home improvement needs. They also sell gardening equipment and seedlings. I went there to have a piece of board cut to size. They offered a range of woods and were able to get me the size I wanted. They helped load the car and I was overall very pleased. They also offer a pensioners discount in Wednesdays

Covid protocol in place. The nursery plant stock is lower then it usually is. The hardware area is well stock. Service is slow. They also offer pensioners discounts on Wednesdays. They do accurate pool water testing.

Enjoy the seedlings one can purchase there.

There is 2 section to the building. Appliances and plumbing, service is good. Either long wait or no help in the garden section .

I have had only problems with Builders Express Durban North. The cashier that assisted me made a mistake when I paid my account cash. I went back to the store for assistance yesterday as the Hillcrest Builders advised me that I needed to go back to the branch that I made the payment. (Builders Express Durban North) The accounts lady refused to assist the cashier after the cashier phoned her many times. After spending more than an hour and the cashier nearly in tears because she didnt know how to rectify the problem, I WAS TOLD to check if the mistake was rectified and if the money was now reflecting in the right account!!!! I phoned and still the money is not reflecting in the right account. I now have to face penalties because my account shows in arrears. This is totally unacceptable as I the customer was refused assistance from the accounts department. This is an absolute disgrace that I have to be sent from pillar to post not to talk about the inconvenience and now my name being on the Blacklist for an account that was paid up and extra????? I phoned the customer complaints department and was told they would phone to assist. Nobody has phoned me back so now I must once again do a trip to useless Builders Express Durban North. TOTALLY UNACEPTABLE!!!!

For the DIY enthusiast, whos purchases is based on the job at hand, its sometimes better to go to the warehouse as the express store has a limited range of products. If you have to factor in time wasted, cost of travel, inconvenience, unnecessary stress, work down time, etc.

Its a big Builders but it has very little actual stock. Every time ive been they either dont stock the item/product or its out of stock. Also just note that Builders is also more expensive than most places but just more convenient. Not a recommended branch. Try any of the others.
