I was very impressed with the room, the size, the great wifi. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Definitely will be going back there.

One of the best hotels ive been to. They have a smart TV... The shower is massive (big plus) and the property is absolutely stunning. The room was very clean and they had 2 cookies with the tea tray - what a nice touch.

Its one state of the art and artificial boutique hotel. With such beautiful rooms. I was impressed beyond my expectations in terms of room sizes as well as the set up st large. With complimentary effective WiFi that comes with a tea station. Im thrilled to say expectations we met 😊 and exceeded

Terrible, staff unhelpful, showers clogging and wash basin clogging cannot brush teeth. Cupboards full of left over eats and packaging from previous guests. No towels, had to request.Very unhygienic.Disgusted will never go back.

Decent hotel, but service can be improved.Room was received 2 hours after arrival (4pm). Tea condiments not replenished after day 1. Otherwise not a bad hotel.

Beware of the security deposit! When you book and phone to confirm your reservation they fail to inform you about the R500.00 security deposit, that they say they will refund within 7 days. Its been 9 days and nothing has been refunded.The room in what we stayed in smelled of smoke and the water pressure in the shower was low that you have to jump around to get wet, not to mention the tap at the basin when you open it, it sprays you full of water!

The service is lacking here, and the rooms were not made up when guests check in.Our rooms were dirty and not even the bedding was changed.What a mess. Luckily we insisted on another room and we got it.Out aircon did not work and we were not informed. We had to fit in a portable unit.And this to we had to do it ourselves not letting us know that it was for our room.*positive note*They give you water everyday and clean well.Also they helpful.Overall good stayBut staff is inundated or slow. Lovely place to start. Rooms are adequately spacious and comfortable. Service is exceptional and staff extra friendly and always willing to assist. Florida rd is within walking distance with a nice selection of eateries to suit your craving.The hotels kitchen is itself absolutely amazing. I have not been disappointed once but the exquisite quality and presentation of their meals. This is quickly becoming my happy place.If your one to go for a walk run or jog there are a few challenging hill routes and in the area. I have felt safe on all my runs and have also come across other runners both morning and evening. That being said awareness and safety are always key..

Not recommended place to stay! Unacceptable service, rooms booked and paid for in full over 1 entire month in advance. Rooms not as asked and paid for, am asthmatic so asked for room to be cleaned and aired or preferably non smoking room, asked for 2 rooms next to each other and even phoned a week in advance to check everything okay - arrival and nothing as asked for was not done. They did not even have the proof of payment!! Room sizes given were smaller than what was paid for. No manager on-site to address query. Donovan the manager couldnt even be bothered to come and resolve issue. He told night staff to get us a room at 19h10 at night in another hotel around area. He said he would only address the matter after 5 days. Not customer focused at all. Restaurant meals are not even included in price of rooms...not even breakfast. Not worth it.

Never again will I book into Avondale Boutique Hotel!I called and made reservations on the 7th of Nov 2019, for 1 night stay for myself and my daughters for the 13 December 2019. We were traveling from Jhb for an event and I had made the booking for 2 superior king rooms (paid for them in full), non smoking, next to each other and for the rooms to be on the top floor. The payment, my requests and bookings were confirmed prior to our trip.Upon our arrival at Avondale Boutique hotel at 19h00 due to delays at OR Tambo International (for which we called and informed the hotel as well), we are informed by the receptionist that we needed to pay for the rooms and the rooms that were assigned were 1 superior king and 1 standard room. The rooms were in separate buildings, one on the top floor of the main building and the other in the adjacent building. We insisted on speaking to the manager, whom had left for the evening and there was not a night manager available. Upon speaking with the very unhelpful General manager, Donovan, whom advised us that he will look into the matter only on Tuesday and the only solution he could offer was to get the receptionist to call other hotels in the area to look for rooms for the night, which we would have to pay for. Meaning that a family of 4 women should drive around in the dark and pay extra for the hotels error!As it was already dark and the weather bad, we decided we will stay at Avondale Boutique Hotel. Eventually, the receptionist gave us rooms next to each other in the outside building (1 superior and 1 standard). Although the rooms are suppose to be non smoking, the standard room reeked of cigarette smoke and the bed sheets, covers and pillows had stains all over them.The stay was extremely disappointing and I will never book with this boutique hotel again. I expect a full refund from the hotel as the stay was unacceptable!

Had breakfast there with friends and tbh it was nice. The facilities are also good and clean. But the service from the booking assistant named Courtney left a bitter taste in my mouth. She messed up my reservation and did not bother to right the wrong. As a result I was inconvenienced having to look for alternative lodging and our party had to be separated. I had booked a good 3-4 weeks in advance. When I called to find out when I needed to pay, by my bad luck, Courtney answered the phone!😡 she told me I was paying way too much and she could offer me a better rate. Naturally, I accepted, she advised me to cancel my reservation via Central Reservations so she could reload it with the revised rate. She said she would call me back but she never did. Infact I had to call back more than once to find out what was going on. And only after constantly calling back was I told that all of a sudden the hotel was fully booked and my new booking was actually not loaded! 😡 All she could say for herself was a pathetic “there’s nothing I can do, the system did not cancel your previous reservation in time”. I am still so angry because I was looking forward to that stay. So if you going to stay at Avondale, pleeeeeease do yourself a favour and avoid dealing with Courtney like the plague, ask for literally, anybody else.

A+ Accommodation.So refreshing to stay at a place where everything is just right. Swift check-in, spotless rooms, luxury sheets & finishings, decent wifi, smart tv and spacious bathroom with rainfall shower.Breakfast is amazing, while there is no buffet - you order of a menu - this works out much better and you get a variety of freshly prepared and plated meals as well as platters of fruits, yogurts, cold meats, cheeses & pastries. You know the food is good when the locals come here just for the breakfast!Location is bang in the hub of durbans foodie paradise with dozens of restaurants, coffee shops, and smaller malls in the vicinity, some walkable, others a 1 or 2km drive away.For Muslims, youll be happy to know their breakfast is halal, a spacious and beautiful musallah across the road for your prayers & tons of halal restaurants nearby (and the bathroom has a trigger spray:)All in all, we had a lovely stay and this is probably going to be our go-to place to stay whenever we visit Durban!
