Great coffee, amazing cakes... Not the most cozy of places for a coffee date. Id recommend it for doing some work, meeting an acquaintance or a take away.

Great service, heavenly cake, very neat packaging lately. Only one problem, the cake doesnt last forever...😂 always want more after the last bite. Red Valvet and Choc Nostalgia favorites. If you like exploring with your food, try Chocolate Nostalgia cake with Caramel Milkshake from WW down the road-DIVINE!!!Will be coming back every chance I get.

You guys have to try out the caramel velvet cake. Its delectable and almost 4kg. I wouldnt recommend the rococo though, its less than mediocre. Cant wait to try out other flavours. Watch this space!

Superb range of cakes. Cheese cake is a firm favourite.

They have a sign saying it is dog friendly but refused to serve us while I was carrying my small dog to the till. Worried about my clean small dog, yet as we sat outside at their one table, we found it unclean with a hair on it. Rather clarify on the sign that dogs are allowed outside. Also, the carrot cake had raisins, so it was not a hit for me.

Always a delight. The team are amazing and the coffee and cake... well, thats always sublime.

Was here just a few minutes after loadshedding in the area had ended. So, they need to get their equipment up and ready again. No fault of theirs.The staff though, were apologetic (no need, guys) and went out their way to make us feel comfortable. Sat inside to enjoy the aircon. Typical warm Summer afternoon in Durban so had their Lemonade and Mint frappe - Awesome! Coupled it off with their carrot cake. Great selection of cakes, tarts, croissants, biscuits, etc. Nice atmosphere here too.

The deserts are divine. If youre craving for something rich. This is the place to buy from.

Always a dependable spot for a quick downtime chill out. Just one thing I dont every recall being a problem before, maybe just wasnt aware. When ordering a regular size capucino and its charged accordingly, either my hands have grown smaller with age or they now using their expresso cups as a regular. Damb, after one had sipped off the top foam you left with two sips. Good tasting quality coffee but definitely not value for money. Anyways... Their cheesecake makes all my bitchyness seem insignificant. But be warned... If you dying for a solid cuppa to sort you out, have one at home first and you can have theirs as a chaser....

Cappuccino is strong and delish and well the cakes are yum. Getting busy again as nowhere to sit.

My favorite place to buy cake! But I am disappointed with a purchase I made this past Saturday. Bought a large black Forest and felt like we were only eating cherries, there was way too much this time and black forest is my favorite. The cake was soft and moist as usual though.

Google maps indicate that they open at 7am so arrived there at 7.10am. All the staff in the shop having a meeting so I waited outside while all the staff members where looking at me through the shopfront for 10 min. There was no signage on the shopfront showing opening or closing times so I decided to phone the shop. That got a staff member to acknowledge me at the door and to tell me that they are only opening at 7.30am so I left frustrated that I have waisted 25min of my morning.

Such terrible experience at the store today! The manager was so unnecessarily rude and arrogant (and even shouted at us)! Wonderful service from Nellie as always, but I will not be back due to the manager. Customer Service training is definitely needed.

I love the wide selection of hot beverages, my favorite being chai latte. This cozy spot provides great customer service which is prompt. The staff is very friendly and the outlet is clean and always smells fresh coffee.

Chateau Gateaux caters for both sweet and savory lovers, their variety of cakes makes every sweet lover feel as if they are in heaven. With their perfection level at baking being incomparable, their drinks had to keep up to standards and they have done just that! Available parking, seating both on the inside and outside, decadent desserts and tea time treats and only the most divine frappes and delicious beverages, every visit surely is a pleasant one.

I am absolutely disappointed in chateau Gateaux on Cowey Road service during stage 4 Lockdown! I ordered 3 slices of cake. When I recieved it all 3 slices were a different size and all were much smaller than the regular size.

I was terribly disappointed on Friday the 13 December as I purchased a cake n was going to pick it up later that afternoon, the cake was marked with my name n put aside by Busi, the cashier. I usually shop at the Glen in Gauteng. When I arrived there was load shedding n the store was closed. The staff were all inside the store n kept saying to me the store is closed, I tried showing the slip expecting Busi to respond to my request. Eventually when someone did open the door no one apologised or acknowledged that the cake was set aside for pick up. This is unacceptable customer service. Up your game Durban or rusk losing our patronage.

They have the most delicious cakes. Red Velvet and Cookies and Cream is a MUST. The Red Velvet has got some iciness in it and its moist and mouth watering. The Cookies and Creams has got pieces of cookies on top. Mmm...
