We decided to try The View Cafe, arrived at 12.30pm on a Saturday. Gate closed and no answer to our phone call. Then checked the internet and saw this establishment is only open on a Wed from 9am to 10am. Surely that is wrong? So we left.

Lovely quite venue for Sunday morning breakfast. The food and service was great. Will definitely return. 💯👍🤗

My name is Iqbal Syed, I have of this morning posted a very negative post about this place. I guess I did this because I was hungry and pulled out my phone out of mere anger. I would like to apologize to the owner for my last post. This is a family run business and they are doing their best. Please I urge the public to go and try out this place, the food is good and their prices are good. So once again I would like to apologize to the owner for my earlier post. These are good people who runs this place and trying to earn a living. May Aallaah SWT grant you success in your business

Great service. Good Cafe food. Menu slightly more pricier than nearby coffee shops but the view is spectacular.

Had lunch at the cafe. As many reviews have said the view is indeed mesmorizing. We found table service in general friendly and helpful. The food is ok, dont expect a master chef type of experience. You definately go here more for the view and atmosphere rather then the cuisine. There is a nice kiddie play area.

Amazing Hospitality And Food With A Stunning View Of The Valley of 1000 Hills

Great experience - drove up from Umhlanga with two others and it was so worth it. The view was beautiful on an overcast day, the food was homey and delicious, and the pancakes very satisfying. Loved that the drinks are served in chilled glasses. Some elements of the place feel a little aged, but in some ways that was part of the charm. Super lovely and chill place to have a great conversation for hours. Last time I went I may have been 9 or 10. So happy to have gone back.

Lovely place with an amazing view.The service was friendly and efficient. Our waitress attentiveness was appreciated.Unfortunately our Pizza was very bland. Even some hot sauce didnt help. But our desert pancakes and waffles were divine.There is a great little kids play area. We will definitely come back with the kids for pancakes and waffles one day soon.

Apart from the awesome view the food we have eaten at The View Cafe has been just as awesome.😊Normal, vegetarian or Vegan meals are all available and are delicious.And well the pancakes - what can I say about those other than if you havent tried one then you need to visit the View Cafe and have one. You will go back again and again for the different options.

Nice spot with a kids play area, though not as safe as Id like. Best for kids 5+. Indoor and outdoor seating. Food is great for families, simple, nice. The best aspect in my view are the staff members! Very friendly, helpful with kids, accommodating.

Went with my girlfriend. Had a lovely time. Friendly staff, they accommodated my vegetarian girlfriend without any hassles. An amazing view great food. Definitely due for another visit.

Always worth a stop at The View Cafe. Not only are staff and management polite and friendly the views alone are amazing. Then the Pizza. My personal favorite. So much good food to chose from, keeps you going back for more.

The service is beyond excellent, the staff are super friendly and go above and beyond for their customers. They are pet friendly so as soon as we arrived our dogs were given bowls of water. Food was great, my bar one milkshake was by far the best I have EVER had & my Gluten free pizza was nice & crispy. Top service with a smile.

What a wonderful place to spend a Sunday morning. After recently visiting The View cafe after notification of new management i was happily attended by pleasant and quick staff in a welcoming space.The best aspect for me however was to look out at a beautiful view in and have food that was delicious and a menu that consists of traditional meal and a few new trending treatsThis beautiful serene cafe now has an accompanying foodie experience to go with the lovely views

The views are really quite delightful. The friendly staff served me the most incredible Milk tart Pancake! How awesome my two most favourite things in one! The texture alone leaves me yearning for more. Perfect place for any occasion - coffee and chats.....a place to go with the kids....a great place for brakfast, and lunch. Planning a special Birthday party there in September!

Worth coming here if you want to relax and enjoy the views. Food/coffee was average. The breakfast avo,scrambled egg&cheese would probably be better without the cheese. There is a small kids play area, although it would require supervision by parents.

The view is INDEED AMAZING but the food was not. My mother ordered the most expensive salad on the menu, but it was totally underwhelming...very stingy on the blue cheese and she even asked for them to be generous with it. No fancy lettuce, just basic iceberg, a few cucumber pieces etc. I had the bobotie savoury pancake, which was nice, but not a meal I would rave about. My mom had a cappuccino and that was good.

Lovely family Cafe with beautiful views. Even when sitting inside you feel the peaceful surroundings of nature. From fluffy pancakes with either sweet or savory fillings to pizzas (even a wheat free option) and yummy mega milkshakes! Kids love it there, a must to visit!

Quiet little place tucked away on the side of a hill. Wonderful view of the hills. Kids have some space to keep them occupied. Pancakes were great. Staff friendly and attentive.

I have been to The View Cafe about four or five times so far... I absolutely love this place.😍 It does get a bit chilly up there, but I see the owner has put out some blankets which makes the view up there even better. I recommend this awesome restaurant to everyone. Especially for events. 😁

Disappointed. The view is good although there were grass fires in the valley that day so it was very hazy. I had a pizza that was very nice but all the pancakes were poorly made (thin at the edges) and small. The drinks were unexciting (powdered hot chocolate and ginger beer was canned Stoney). Rustic but not designed that way, more from lack of maintenance. We saw many other eating places in the area which would probably be worth trying instead of this one

Burgers are great, service is good, view is amazing, Thai green curry pancake is flavorless and disappointing. Would recommend this spot...just dont have the thai curry.

Awesome view and live band great but thats about all. Service was shockingly slow. My husband had the pie-was just an upside pizza base with reheated chicken stuff on top! My cranberry burger was burnt, way too much lettuce and in fact a Mcdonalds burger is tastier by far! Definitely will never go back!!

An amazing view of the Valley of 1000 Hills sets this Cafe ahead from the start! The cuisine is well prepared to tantilize your palet and the variety on the menu has something for everyone. Gorgeous view with delicious pancakes!I struggled to find it initially as Google maps had it pinpointed at the wrong place. If you, like I was, are standing at the spot Google tells you to go to, jump back into your car, and proceed further up the hill. Go past the spar, past the Build It, round a corner or two and then you will find it on your right.As previous posters have said, the place could do with a bit of a scrub, but it does have a certain rustic charm, and the view is certainly worth it!The pancakes were great (and came quickly), they did have ice cream to serve with it and the coffee was decent, but the view itself is definitely the show stopper! If for nothing else, its definitely worth a visit for the view!

Lots of potential for this rustic little spot. Let down by the poor (slow) service and sub par quality of burgers on a day where they only sold burgers and pancakes(no pizzas, wraps, milkshakes, beers or ciders) Pancakes were great though!

The view was absolutely amazing. Perfect for a relaxed lunch over looking the mountains. Chicken burger was abit dry for me. But the staff was super friendly and funny.

Very slow service for a lunch time. Table next to me had been waiting for ages for their pizzas, when they arrived, quality was awful and a 3rd of the guests wouldnt eat them. Waiter implied that the kitchen was spinning (There were 4 - 5 tables running) and the pizza oven had stopped working. He then approached us, 55minutes after order our pizza to say ours was not going to be made. I was angry, hungry, settled my bill and left. Wont be going back.

Had a pancake and a cup of coffee. It was great. Waitresses are very good.

Arrived for lunch with my wife and children. The furniture was dusty and gave an overall impression that the restaurant was not the cleanest. Then to top it all... They had no ice cream! A pancake restaurant without ice cream...

The directions posted on every site this Cafe is featured on is wrong.The adventure to find the spot was more exciting than my experience at the View.My order took 45 minutes to make and was wrong. The cutlery was dirty and there is one waitress in the entire premises.I definitely would never reccomend this place to anyone, even it was a LAST option.
