A good place for breakfast.Service was accommodating and friendly. The staff managed to serve us during load shedding.The breakfast was well prepared, even if a bit under seasoned ( preference I guess ).Would really like to see more meat options ( only pork was available).The menu could also do with a bit more excitement. The items were fairly standard and I don’t remember any particular item that jumped at me. This isn’t always a bad thing though.The plunger coffee I ordered was good.

Here every weekend. My regular order of halloumi, peppers, mushrooms on Ciabatta. Try the milktart coffee!

What a lovely place! Probably the best toastie Ive ever had and hubby had a fabulous concoction of a scone/croissant hybrid bun. Delicious! And they serve bluebird coffee. If I lived closer I would frequent often. Very friendly staff!

We met up for quick lunch , just moms and daughters. I loved their simple menu offering, I ordered a tasty chicken fillet salad, that my daughter ended up finishing off! The portions were quite sizeable amounts. The restaurant is situated in a small fairly busy shopping centre, it is partly indoors but moreso outdoors, with a walkaway leaving the centre into the parking lot. Which can be slightly awkward. But the friendly staff and owner /manager make up for it. They also sell good quality scatter cushions and other soft furnishings more for the shabby chic, country styled home . 9/10

What a really super Cafe. Our waiter was incredible making sure that we were well cared for. A lovely cosy blanket as it was cold. The Crunchie with our coffee was top notch and our food was very good.Would definately recommend

Talkhouse is conveniently situated in Westville Mall and still has a nice atmosphere despite being near the parking lot. The staff are always friendly and efficient (and have been there a long time which is always a good sign). I love the halloumi breakfast and the butternut stack.

The food was good, and better than most other places in the neighborhood. The service however was terrible and the serving staff were disorganized and unable to provide even mediocre service.

Hadnt been here since 2015. But it still has the same great environment. With absolutely great staff, that is welcoming and friendly.Had a beef sandwich and coffee. Prices are soo affordable and the food is great 😊.Great place for having meetings or if you want a place to read and enjoy your own company 😉.

Great food, super friendly manager and good staff with quick service. Could be better if some staff werent over-friendly to the point of flirting. It does make one feel super uncomfortable. Some people might not mind it, but personally Im not okay with it. Other than that, its a great place.

We went to this amazing place and all i can say is WOW. The service was amazing all the waiters that served my family and i were all so sweet and kind. Their food was so tasty and the presentation was so good it looked like the food belonged in a famous restaurant. My family and i will definitely go back to this restaurant anytime. These people and the restaurant is just amazing and it is honestly the best restaurant i have ever been to in my life

Just had a coffee during a meeting. Good feel. Service was polite and friendly but lacked in urgency or attention especially when the meeting was over and we needed the bill. Probably would have ordered a desert if the waiter/waitress marketed the items better.

The service was terrible. Our waiter didnt clean the table after we sat down. The manager came by after 10 minutes and cleaned the table. Ordered cappuccinos with cream which took 20 minutes to arrive. Without cream. The waiter was condescending when I asked if we could order food. Ordered food and watched as people whod arrived after us got their food. Hadnt received our food after 40 minutes of waiting. When I eventually complained to the manager about our food order it turned out that no order had been placed. Shocking service all around. Will never go back here.

I thought I found a hidden gem in Durban but I got excited too soon. I’ve never been to restaurant and left without eating purely for not being served. While I ordered my tea and meal, the tea came after nudging another waiter. The waiter claims to not have heard me order. All this while I watch my white friend finish his meal and enjoy his 2 coffees. Will not even bother to recommend this place to my guests. Very disappointing.

One of my favourite spots in Westville. What a great team of waiters who are vibey, friendly and on the ball. The food is always freshly made, well presented and tasty. I LOVE that they serve cappuccinos in mugs. Their glasses of wine are also generous. Well done to Shane and team!
