Lovely place. Situated just of the N2 entrance to Salt Rock. Beautiful litchi trees starting to bear fruits. Possibly Dec/Jan it would be in full bloom. That would certainly be a pretty sight. Lovely small flea market with a few shops on site n busy on open days. The Shed provides restaurant facilities including bar n live music. Great place to spend some relaxing time on a Saturday. Lots of free parking under these shady trees.
Wow what a beautiful place. A real little garden of Eden just around the corner from the hustle and bustle. The garden restaurants is impressive. They are also fully licensed. The Litchi tree is one of the most beautiful. These trees are everywhere om the grounds packed with fruit. Fruit is not to be touched. That is what the shop is for. There is gorgeous little shops to get necessities or just something nice. The kids play area is not something Ive seen before. Their core business is furniture manufacturing. They give back to the community by teaching the skill to make furniture. Also great vegetables gardens.
The vendors are still recovering from the lockdown and it is important to support the home industries . I loved the cheeses and olives .
I absolutely love the Litchi Orchard.Whenever I am planning a break to my Salt Rock holiday cottage I plan it around the Litchi Orchard because I am so in love with the place. Its a north coast weekend institution with the freshest food, the coldest beers, the nicest crowd, the best music and the most beautiful weather
The Litchi Orchard is a great place to stop over for a cup of coffee, breakfast, lunch or dinner. While we did not visit the restaurants, judging from the menus on display, prices are reasonable and the menu varied. This is a great place to spend an hour or two. And before you leave, make certain you grab your fresh litchis. At R110 for two Kg pack, you will not regret it
Gorgeous spot. Lovely outdoor seating under trees and umbrellas, plus good coffee options and friendly service.
We were lucky enough to be on holiday in salt rock when the litchi orchards market was on. We walked away with sweet treats, yummy stuffed olives, delicious samoosas and if there was anymore room, a kebab! Great morning out with the family. Live music, a restaurant called the Shed, and a way to support the locals. If you are in the area, pop in to the market...first weekend of every month it seems.
A really beautiful outdoor setting. The restaurant at the shed was excellent, with a great menu. However, the communal shed structure and outdoor seating was really dirty and unkempt. A good time, otherwise.
Run down - only the shed restaurant was open and 3 stores. Nice food and drinks there but dont serve any coffee or tea. Nice venue but needs some TLC.
I was not impressed. The little shops have interesting things with very friendly staff. It is more high end articles and not the typical locals hang out type of place. We planned coffee and a slice off something sweet but that was a dream for another stop. Coffee not served at the Shed. Not sure how they got through the no alcohol 2020/21 stage without coffee on the menu.
Fantastic ambience, plenty of food and great arts, gifting and live music! Space is adequate with live music and entertainment on Saturdays. Parking can be busy but staff assistance is helpful.
Nice atmosphere. Interesting surrounding shops
An absolute dream of an experience, sadly the place was booked for another event and we could only but purchase some litchi and not have the full experience of picking from the orchard itself. The trees are overflowing in the parking area but one is not allowed to pick any which is another negative point but I suppose an understandable restriction.
Market good on Saturdays. But feel they would get more if people didnt have to pay R10 to gain entrance then have to spend more when in. Feel alot of families can afford that each . Restaurant / pub good, music, a nice morning out.
Amazing establishment for an afternoon beer with a tasty lunch. Highly recommended 👌
Lovely boutique shops, but not much going on for a Saturday afternoon. A couple of years ago it was full of life.
I pretty, quaint place. When we came to their „Shed“ restaurant in 2019 we were impressed by the food. Unfortunately quality has declined a lot. Pizzas served in December 2020 were bad: Ready made dough, no proper mozzarella, cheap tomato sauce. It‘s really a shame because the scenery is great. So once drinks are legal again I would still recommend the place for some cold beers or even a family outing — just don‘t expect good food anymore.
Beautiful place. Litchis you buy are so sweet and delicious, however you are not allowed to pick litchis even though they grow in the parking lots as well. Theres no tarred roads and road is quite bumpy. Dont take a chance with your vehicle unless you have good ground clearance
For in season time... They had tons of Litchis on the trees and made no effort to get them for the clients... Ran out of Litchis and quite disinterested in helping anyone out. Still had hours of open time. Just bad management I guess. Pretty disappointing... Adding this after the fact. Theres a sweet family who were super delightful and gracious for supporting them at cornubia mall... Litchis on the stalk for half the price.
Very sad to say. Went this morning and af 10h00 nothing was happening. Nothjng was open. Even though website said open until 16h00. Sad to say we left.
Serene and calm atmosphere. Perfect for a family. Consists of a nice little coffee shop and nursery alongside the Litchi Orchid. It would be wonderful to have a few more activities or attractions.
What an amazing place. Fantastic garden nursery. Great cosy restaurants. And awesomely friendly, knowledgeable staff everywhere we shopped.
Nothing open all Mon to Sat. Dont recommend at all.
A bit sad to see it deserted, they are moving.
Great Service | Customer Friendly | 💯🇿🇦💖
I dont hate but the atmosphere was sad. No Christmas songs no decor. Just boring really. Beautiful trees tho. Get it right next year guys.
Interesting. Nice shops and stalls. Litchis are amazing!Pity that the lady in the farm stall today was wearing a political face mask, it makes the customers feel uncomfortable, its unprofessional and the stall should not link itself to any particular political party.
Nice flea market and enjoyed the place. A must to visit.
Left home early and drove 300km for the litchi festival. We arrived before noon, busy place without parking place. Then, we found that litchi already SOLD OUT!! Very disappointed!!Thank you for the clarification. Wish you a good litchi season. Will try again next time.
Lovely litchi here.
It is basically a farmers and local handicrafts market with a litchi orchard. Litchi picking is not allowed but you can buy from them which costs you 110 Rands for 2 kg. There is no entry fees but litchis are considerable costlier than what you get in the market...so u can offset with the fact that there is no entry fees to the garden.
Nice experience with a good meal at the Shed
One of my favorite places, love the Shed
Awesome vibe. Great live music on first and last Fridays of every month. Good food and bar as well
Awesome, fast and delicious! Would definitely come here again. 👌😍🤤
Restaurants and a couple of little shops. Great playing area for kids
Lovely venue featuring a night market and live entertainment a few times a month :)) the craft market was limited and the food was similar but more than made up for by the vibe :)) there is parking but get there early as it gets very full lol
Wasnt open as their website said.
Friendly trees... Realy bad communication skills. No luck of even tasting or purchasing the fruit.Tried to get assistance but the most helpful word was... I dont knw/no?
Wish that tractor drive could be longer
Cool place to spend the day and have an experience, they have cafes and few boutique shops for you to checkout but also ask them about the litchis of course
What a beautiful place!! Even the breakfast was fantastic. Will be visiting again
Pastures has the most phenomenal food, and personal service.
Great venue, beautifully scenic
No litchis for sale today, huge disappointment unfortunately. Other than that, there were some good food and coffee
Please water the plants in the nursery - they are so dehydrated
Fabulous place I would recommend it to anyone
Special place with unique shops. Lovely place to have a coffee and relax
Wonderful outdoor activities, market and fresh litchi pickings sold everyday during litchi season. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, some activities could not proceed.
Was closed. Was advertised as being open. Was a disappointment.
Have so much potential
This is a sweet spot
It was an okay visit considering it was not litchi picking season. There is a little golf shop and a restaurant that does not serve coffee along with a few other little shops.
Ice cold craft beer, live music, and great pizza. What more do you want? Bag of Litchis to go!
Absolutely amazing ! Good chill spot and I love the loading money into a card to make purchases at the stalls instead of using cash
Beautiful scenery with millions of juicy red litchies ready for plucking. However not for public picking. Bunches sold at different times of day.
Had the durbanite pizza was so good. Also has very nice curries available.
Good for the family outing
Nicely made hand crafted items for sale especially the marmalade jam.
Expected the night time market at the end of the month but nothing happening.Shops closing early and no live music. 90 year yes were interesting
Best place to have awesome food and a great atmosphere
Totally dissatisfied. Drove my family from Phoenix to be told that no Litchi can be harvested or sold. I phoned several times but could not get through. It was a disastrous start to my wifes birthday. Totally disappointed.
Nice little shops and eateries set in a litchi orchard.
Beautiful place. So many gorgeous flowers and plants. Litchi trees were brimming with fruits which I was assured would be ready in the second week of December. Cant wait to go back. Reasonable prices, friendly and informative staff. Eagerly awaiting to see what their giant granidillas look like.
Used to be a nice busy place with alot to do and see.
Stunning! I happened to stumble past on a market day, which was so lively and fun! Popped into the nursery and I enjoyed advice of knowledgeable staff! As well as the friendly vibe at the local meet the shed.
It was amazing, food was delicious , bought some fresh veg , clothing and took a refreshing walk around the farm .....well done!! Devini Naicker
Love the Litchi! The Shed owners and all the store owners are awesome there! (,)
Fantastic family time
Beautiful atmosphere among litchi trees.Visited Greenhaus.
Disappointment. Litchies at Spar across road better and cheaper
Pasture Deli is amazing, food is an experience
No Litchfield picking allowed was very dissapointing
First time visit, think because covid, wasnt much happening
Very disappointing. No picking of fruit allowed. Selling old packets of litchi.
Easily accessible. Great shops to browse around in. One shops sells cow hides at a great price.Convenient coffee shop.
It has nice open, clean spaces. You can enjoy the view while you eat a light meal made on the premises.
A place to behold...excellent
Horrible parking and not much to see. Mostly overpriced food and slow service. Besides that at least a nice play area for the kids.
Litchis are fat and juicy with small pips.
There she glows salon is awesome!!!
