Allan was great, but WiFi (even at additional cost) will attract more people traveling for work.

Excellent well kept guest house. Alan and his team are super friendly, the venue is clean and neat. Close to the Engen 1 Stop and walking distance to the shopping centre, fuel station and a service,/towing and breakdown service garage. I would highly recommend stopping off in Colesberg when travelling on the N1 and check in at Ebenezer. We have found a new spot to take a break when travelling.

Nothing wrong with the accommodation. Had all the basics with some improvements since the first time (a year ago) I stayed here, and the stay was comfortable. The problem I experienced was similar to my first experience. The owner wanted to by-pass booking.com to avoid paying commission, so I was again asked to cancel the booking while I was there and pay directly into (who I believe to be) the owners bank account. The story started the same, a mistake with the booking. According to the lady (owner) the room that was booked was for six people which I confirmed is exactly right and what I booked, then she changed the story and said the amount for the room I booked was the out of season rate and was incorrectly attached to the room on Booking.com on the date I booked. She gave me R100 off if I canceled with booking.com and selected Covid-19 restrictions as a reason for cancelation. The last time (a year ago) she said the room I booked wasnt big enough for my family so she would give me the family room for the same price if I paid directly to her. They only have one family room. This is clearly an ongoing business practice which left me feeling very bad because I had lie about canceling my booking on Booking.com.It goes without saying that I cant recommend this place. I wouldve made it my annual stop over to Cape Town but now I have have to go elsewhere.

Good overnight accommodation between Johannesburg and Cape Town. In fact Colesberg is almost midway. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Has TV, kettle, microwave and fridge. Clean swimming pool to cool off in the hot seasons. OK Bazaar, coffee shop and restaurants within walking distance.

Our room was neat and clean, but personally I dont feel the price is justified. Some of the taps were loose and blinds broken. Not quite the same as the pictures displayed. Hosts are friendly though. Overall: sufficient for a one night stop-over.

The host is very hospitable. We booked this place as a pit stop on the way to Jhb from CT. The room was spacious and very clean. We felt very secure. Close to eating and hangout spots.

Neat and clean albeit busy with renovations. According to the owner Marie, premises provide sleeping for 68 people. We enjoyed our overnight.

What I liked much about the place was about their chck-in check-out time. Whilst all other Guesthouses ask you to check-out at 10am at Ebenezer you can check-out at the end of your check-out date.

Great place for laying one’s head while passing through from CT. Got to dip in pool after Karoo heat. Was warmly received by Marie(owner) and Tersia(manager). Both shared plants and gardening insights. Place is a travellers’ lodge, so you get fit-for-purpose amenities of a room in a converted house. Met other people doing as we were. Liked it. Will do it again.

Absolute no interest in returning enquiries regarding availabilty! Im waiting 2 days now for them to give me an answer!!! Tried phoning them - no luck . I will not recommend a stay at this institution. If this is the way they treat potential guest then I wonder what it will be like when you are face to face with them!Lekkeslaap contacted them as well for feedback, but it seems they are not interested in clients! They should remove their institution from the website and allow other institution a chance to prove what hospitality is about!

We had car trouble and had to find last minute, pet friendly accomodation.RE accomodation: Lady explained that the available unit was being renovated and not yet complete which was ok because we just needed a place to sleep for the night. On arrival she asked about the dog and was very concerned when she realised that we had 4 dogs of which one is a bull terrier. I dont think there were any issues with the doggies because we kept them out of other guests way, took them for a nice long walk and picked up their poo but i think they will end up removing the pets very welcome after our visit. 🤣
