Staff not helpfull, selected treatment and unprofessional in assisting with sizes. I wouldnt visit that store again.I had to search for my own shoe size amongst boxes on the floor. The lady who rang up my sale, was the only professional in that store. I love Birkenstock but Cavendish is a huge let down. Very disappointed.BAD impression on many customers. Staff not knowing their stock.

The actual shop (at the V and A Waterfront has gone - but a table/market version has popped up. A but chaotic and assistants somewhat disinvested in attending to clients. However, came away with 2 lovely pairs of sandals for summer.

Wow what a great selection. The stock availability is fantastic. The store is situated next to Cavendish, so parking can prove difficult if not parking at Cavendish.

Store has had the stock and I was able to purchase what I wanted. But my oh my, the worst service from a premium store with very unhelpful staff. According to the slip, the name was Rene de Wet.It is as if they were doing us a favour to let us be in the store. Playing on their phones behind the counter and not paying attention to us. I asked them to assist, where she just looked at us with a lack of interest. After purchasing two pair of sandals we did not get a good by or thanks. Just snarky remarks when finding out the difference between Synthetic vs Leather. Pathetic from a premium store.

I am writing this review given it should be made clear that this isnt an official birkenstock store and my whole experience with them was being ripped off (sounds like someone else also had similiar experience). I thought I would write an honest review so future people avoid said store. This is a wholesaler that fronts like an official store however doesnt offer the Birkenstock customer service, care and guarantee. Check birkenstock website, no store under this address. They also mark up prices compared to what you can buy online on the actual birkenstock website or from official stores. I bought a pair here while on holiday in Cape Town which turned out to really hurt my feet and caused burns at the sole of my foot. I went back within two days to complain and I was told to come back the next day for the store manager who wasnt there the following day either. She told me Birkenstock doesnt return or exchange without assessment which can take up to 7-10 days (the usual official policy allowing return within 6 months mind you). I was told I would have to send it to an assessment center who will guage from photos of my foot and various tests whats wrong. I guess I should have figured out was a game to avoid refunding or exchanging. I confirmed with them whether I could resolve this in London and shop assistants werent certain, but the store manager who I managed to catch on the phone assured me that its a global brand and I can resolve this in London where I live. She even gave me her email to contact if i have any issues. Having returned to London and spoken to an official store (as per birkenstock website), turns out the cape town store isnt an official store and arent affiliated with the brand. They have hugely marked up profit margins. I paid £109 for a shoe worth £75 on the website and in official retail stores. They clearly dont follow the policies about returns that Birkenstock do which is what makes them so worth in terms of returning or repairing the shoe when its not comfortable. Birkenstock UK hq said they have an issue of wholesalers setting up and fronting like legitimate stores. While they may perhaps stock original shoes, they make profits and dont offer quality and customer service that original Birkenstock do.

There are not many places to get my supply of Birkis. It is a small shop, but I always find the sandals or shoes I am looking for.

My son bought me a pair of Birkenstocks for Chrustmas 2014 which I was delighted with.....very comfortable as usual. I obviously wore them during the summer ie January to May ....Cape Town weather does not treat sandles very well during the winter so they have been hibernating for 5 months.. you can see from the soles that there has been very little wear!! I had taken very good care of them and were put away very clean and dry.Last week I put them on to air the feet on our first day of real sunshine since winter and to my horror noiticed a crack in the cork on both sandals in exactly the same place. My son dutifully returned them to your shop and obviously did not have the receipt (who keeps receipts for shoes for 6 months??) and was told that there is nothing that can be done .....paid for on credit card which he proof of but that is only valid for 6 months .... I find this rather annoying as there is obviously a fault in the manufacture ie same fault on both sandals..... My husband and I have always worn Birkenstocks and have been very happy to spend the extra to get a good comfortable shoe/sandal but after such appalling service will not be doing so in future ! ....
