The food is just excellent, fresh melt in your mouth sushi. Seriously, if you dont believe me, try it for yourself. And also very affordable. And the service is very good too.

The eat as much as you like conveyor was not running as the place was empty BUT they had awesome specials on sushi platters. Freshly prepared and so tasty. Quite an extensive menu to choose from with friendly service and very well priced. This is the second Asamis Ive been too on 4 separate occasions and theyve never let me down with their sushi.

BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!Wanted to try this place out. My friend got there before me. Staff was rude to her but seated her, then didnt come check on her at all but above all they were not ready to open on time-they were still cleaning from the night before it seemed.Customer service is a big deal for me having worked in hospitality, so we went decided to rather go to another restaurant. Id rather pay more for sushi and get good service, than cheaper and have bad service.

We ordered the Crunch Combo, a buy one take one special, on Ubereats. The chicken wonton was still raw in the middle, it was obvious that it came out of the freezer and into very hot oil that lead to it being overcooked on the outside and undercooked in the middle. Not only can customers get food poisoning but could get very sick. I am disappointed food quality was bad and bad food safety practice.

Wow! That’s all I can say. I have heard that Asami has great sushi, but I severely underestimated just how amazing the sushi was. All the ingredients were very fresh and each piece of sushi was made to perfection. I had heard that their spring rolls were great, and there is no doubting that the spring rolls were great! Our waiter, Simba was amazing too. I’m really happy to have such a great sushi spot in the area!

Bad service coming from Lawrence the manager. Waited for my food from 6.30 eventually at 10pm after all Lawrence stories i had to cancel the order. Pathetic service and all i was fed was lies. I will not advise anyone to waste their time or money from this place.

Sushi was good but not what Im used to from Asamis. Restaurant looks dated, dark and empty. Unpleasant smell in the restaurant and the staff seemed like they dont really want to be there. I will definately not go to this Asamis again.

There was some confusion over the phone during the table booking regarding the sushi buffet, you need to purchase a voucher online before going to the restaurant, which is something I didn’t do. Luckily our waiter helped me make a plan which was awesome of him. The food was also really good and I’ll gladly make a return.

I called and ordered i arrived atb5he time they said i must come andnstill had to wait 45 mins for my order and whenni got home i found no ginger and very little wasabi by the way it was 100 piece platter and i had friends waiting for the 45 min not very impressed

Service was a bit delayed but one assumes that is because their was only one waiter. We ordered 2 x soup starters and was informed 20min later that their isnt any soup. We then just went with our main course which was chicken chow mein. That was absolutely delicious and fresh which we thoroughly enjoyed.Requested a cappuccino but told machine is broken, since last week. No other warm drinks available so settled for an ice tea.Will definitely be back even if just for the quality of the food. But please work on the service.

Exceptionally slow service. Food was OK. Nothing to write home about. Tomato juice came already poured into glasses and tasted watered down. Cherry on the cake - the waiter got out bill wrong - twice!!

The sushi was good the duck a bit dry. The service was poor due to a very inexperienced waiter. We had to help ourselves to glasses, chop sticks etc and the restaurant was not very busy.

Very disappointed in your chicken chow mein. Who puts mixed veg in chow mein. The chicken was tasteless and found a random soggy piece of cucumber in the chow mein. Really guys a couple of strips of carrots and cabbage would have been acceptable.

Weve been eating there every Sunday since January , the staff and management have always been welcoming and humble... And the sushi...... Is on another level of awesomeness.... During the lockdown I struggled to find a place that sell seafood which is fresh and tastes like the ocean....similar to Asami. Even their Chow-Mein hits different! This place is low key and somewhat underrated. Not to blow their horn but their food and ambience is amazing!

Went to Asami’s in Rondebosch. Being students we go to sushi buffets quite often and when we arrived the conveyor belt had lots of good options and the sushi was good. We placed an order from the sushi buffet menu at 7pm and by 8:30pm there was no sign of our food. I went to ask the chef if the food was ever going to come and discovered that there was a pile of platter orders on his table that he had just ignored and not even bothered to prepare. Our waitress was very sweet and came to us many times saying she was trying very hard to get the chef to prepare our meals but he was just shouting at her to not tell him what to do. Terribly run restaurant (no manager in sight and rude chefs who don’t care). Got up at left at 8:50pm having never received our platters. Felt very sorry for the waitress who was lovely and really tried her best but had no control over what was going on in the kitchen. Never felt so blatantly ignored in a restaurant in my life. No structure. Will not be going back and wound not recommend to anyone.

Dark,dingy and service could be improved. The sushi was drenched in sauces.

Due to the effect of COVID, the restaurant was very quiet but the service was still excellent and spirits were high from our waiter.All the best you guys!!

I loved the food in this place. It was my first time going and the atmosphere was great. There was a great vibe about the place and the servers were super nice. I would recommend anyone to go their restaurant.

I was not impressed with the noodles, yesterday I bought Chicken chow mein and Singapore prawn noodles. I called and placed an order for collection to get there about 15mins later and still not done, then also the order was taken incorrectly. We then needed to wait again and 40 mins later my husband went to check again if the order was ready just to found out someone had to run out and go buy nuts as I ordered extra nuts. My husband then requested to leave the nuts and just give the noodles. We then got home and it looked like the kitchen just added to the noodles what they had available at that time. Looked like bits and odds they just added to my order. I will not order there again. My noodles are still standing we have not eaten it.

We enjoy the food but when it was busy we waited forever to be seated and assigned a waiter.. not sure what to think of that kind of service. And it wasnt even very busy

Honestly some of the best asian food Ive ever had! Very unique flavours and even the spring roles are better than expectations. Definitely worth it (and not too expensive for groups either!)

Really disappointed at this place ..We eat Sushi quite often, like every week and we love testing new places !We decided to taste the buffet. Plate after plate the disappointment grew!At the end my boyfriend got a prawn who was off he couldn’t swallow it and I had the same with one of my sushi !We feeling really nauseas now ...And spend R400 to get nausea on a Sunday afternoon!We asked for to see the manager about the situation. She was very stubborn and couldn’t resolve the matter and just left.

Quality sushi, and they offer a refreshing variety of non-sushi menu items that are covered by the all-you-can-eat offering (dessert, fruit, even chicken wings).Unfortunately, while the place comes with a conveyor belt, it often doesnt reflect the menus variety, making patrons have to explicitly order items one by one.

Food is very good, appreciate that dessert items are included in the buffet however the staff were slack and playing Chris Brown videos on the tv is hardly family friendly.

The cooked sushi was not great

Unfortunately the service wasnt on pat with the quality of food. Waited 5 minutes before a waiter attended to us, then ended up waiting close to 45 minutes for our meal. The fact that we were only four couples in the entire restaurant made the wait that much more frustrating, especially when the waiter forget our order more than once.
