Panchos is open for takeaway and sit down. We registered and ordered on line and then I popped in to collect - although their on line option is actually delivery. Super service and a great meal. Very generous portions. Have enough for tomorrow as well. We chose the veg - spinach enchilada and poppers, plus nachos. Saw that they also do vegan options.

In all the years weve been going to Panchos I dont think weve ever had a bad experience. The food is always delicious, the staff are always friendly and the margaritas are just delicious!

Walk the vibrant streets of Obs. Stop at Pancho’s for a Mexican meal. I went back after 10 years at I recalled the Flauta with your selection of fillings. I am defiantly going back for more. Ps just be awake when walking the streets.

Manager was very accommodating, staff were just as friendly. It was my cousins birthday and they made sure he was treated special fitting for the occasion. Food was great, very filling, and every time i visited always brought something home. Reasonable prices.

Great service and amazing food. Always busy so best to make a resevation ahead of time. The food portions are quite big. You get two options the regular and Mexican size (small). Had the frozen margaritas- they were simply amazing. Chilli poppers look different to what I had before but delicious. Gets served with guacamole and sour cream.

Margheritas are amazingly generous with alcohol content! Flauta was crispy on the outside and tasty on the inside. Chilli Carne con (nachos) was super yum! I liked that everything was separate as I could take it home and still have it crispy the next day.

Undrinkable mocktail, very hot nachos, and an unhelpful manager.1) I got put in a back room by myself where the walls shook every time anyone went to the toilet2) I asked for a mocktail, the waitress recommended an apple one - it was like drinking concentrated juice without water.3) I asked for nachos, the waitress said I wouldnt recommend mild, I asked how hot is medium, not very. There were so many chillis. (tbh, it might actually be nice if you like that)I did mention to a waiter about the sickeningly sweet drink. He said people had complained, called over the manager, he said it was popular with kids, but it was hit and miss. I asked why recommend something so controversial? He said that it shouldnt have been, and hed talk to the waitress. But then why charge R42 for a drink I cant drink and not at least offer a replacement. Perhaps my fault for asking the waitress for information on the nachos hotness and drinks.

When you charge R130 for a plate of corn chips you should definitely put some cheese on there as well.

Second visit to the restaurant, had a good experience. The food is good, there is only one beer on tap though. There is a smoking area upstairs and the venue is like most in obs.There is a great vibe in the place, the service is good and the staff are friendly. Well priced.

Head on over to Observatory lower main you would find this Mexican restaurant. Not too big on deco but the food definitely tells another story.Their nacho dish for 2 definitely will fill you up, so pace yourself.

Traditional restaurant, seems to be Mexican from the outside, however the burrito tasted like a lasagne...back in the days (1991) this restaurant was nominated for best traditional restaurant;).perhaps a good place for students or a budget evening. Portion are big and saucy, rather share a meal.

I have been to Panchos many times and I need to say that last night was not a good experience at all. We were there for less than an hour and was basically asked to leave at 8:30 as the restaurant was closing up after we asked our waitress what time they are closing and she communicated that the closing time was 9:00. We were rushed from beginning to start. Just as we finished our drinks she was there to clean the table. As we were half through our meal, she asked if she can bring us doggy bags and before we saw our bill was on the table. When paying the bill there was even problems as she was requesting for us to pay with cash. If you cant promise your clients a relaxing evening, rather adjust your closing time. Very disappointed and will definitely not be returning.

A Good Time !!! Good Service !!!The platters to share was the best option for our group - for drinks we had frosted cocktails coated with a sweet/sour sugar jelly. The Mexican hats and props was a great treat and we most certainly climbed into the theme of the restaurant. Our waiter provided a good service and overall the service was good. A shadow of its former self I was told of a Panchos that had an electric atmosphere. I with out a doubt will return for the Poppers. Thank you for a good time and the start of the festivities for 2019.

Wonderful evening. Host very charming & attentive. Food wonderful. Chef made every effort to accommodate my allergy. Food was very well prepared and presented. Very good value for money. We had one of the new dishes that is being introduced by the chef: green nachos. Refreshing and delightful.The waiter was very attentive but not obtrusive. I will definitely visit Panchos again when we are in Cape Town.

In my personal opinion, this place is a bit overrated.Ive been to better Mexican restaurants.Service is slow, food served cold (to us)...For what it is... this place is expensive.Bigger portions than usually and keep in mind when you order appetizers, you will struggle to finish your main course. 😊🙈

Honestly, this is my favourite restaurant in Cape Town since 2008. Speedy service, big food portions, the tastiest dishes and the BEST margaritas in the whole world!! Customer service is ALWAYS amazing and the venue is constantly such a great vibe. Absolutely LOVE Panchos!

Even though the food was delivered, it came in well packaged, still hot and most importantly, tasted amazing! Highly recommended

If youre looking for excellent authentic Mexican dining then you cant pass up Panchos. If youre new try their Starter for 2.. just bring a friend to help with the portion size. For drinks I highly recommend their lime and strawberry margarita jug (uber home if you must). Bookings are essential, so plan ahead.

Best Mexican Food ever!!!

I have been many times and every time I am amazed at the quality of food and drink on offer. The staff are friendly and helpful. Portions are massive, so much so that there was enough for me to take home for lunch the next day.I recommend the 1 liter Strawberry frozen margarita jug, full portion natchos and the beef and bean burrito. The restaurant was a hit when my parents were younger and it still is.

We have been in Panchos many times, but we were a bit concerned about going out during the Covid-19 pandemic, however, we have gone last night anyway to celebrate my partners birthday and let me tell you that they have taken precautionary protocols quite seriously, providing hand sanitation at the entrance, temperature screening, a registration form, sealed cutleries, previously disinfected menus and the staff always wearing masks. In addition to the delicious dishes, generous portions and the good service they always provide to their customers. As always 100% recommended!

The place to come if you feel like Mexican food. Portions are massive and the restaurant has a great vibe.Service is top notch.The frozen margaritas are the best in town.Make sure to try the Mexican bulldog if you dare.

I have never ordered anything other than the beef macho nachos. A goodly sized portion of food that generally allows some left over for the next day.Happy to say that the nachos were crispy and not soggy pieces of cardboard like they used to be 10 years ago.Do it. Panchos is an Observatory institution and you havent done Observatory if you havent done Panchos

This is a cute Mexican restaurant that is family friendly and a great place to eat what you dont always eat and out of your comfort zone. They have great margaritas👍💃. The lights are a bit dimmed I guess to set a mood.i would recommend going to eat there. The only reason its 3 star and not a 5 in my books is because the service I received was not really good.

This is the must visit spot for Mexican food in Cape Town. The Tacos here are essentially a crash course in everything good about a taco. The ambiance is incredible. Built right in the trendy center of observatory this place has a real authentic experience. The service is great and everyone is incredible polite.That coupled with generous portions and a reasonable price makes this a must visit spot.

Very average. Tortilla was more like a roti. Steak filling for my fajita was cooked in what seemed like more of middle eastern method. Definitely not impressed and was very much looking forward to some decent Mexican food. Service was average, servings are good and price is good. Probably wont go back.

My partner and I decided to make a stop at Panchos for a snack and drinks a few weeks ago and the experience has stayed in my mind.Firstly, the chilli poppers are some of the best Ive had in Cape Town. Crispy and full of flavour!We then had the large beef nachos, which was more than enough for 2 people. The nachos were crispy and they did not skimp on the toppings and the beef, which was layered throughout the nachos.The drinks were amazing. The majority of our bill was spent on incredible cocktails that are the highlight for me. Not too strong but not watered down either.Kay was our waitress and she was sweet and attentive to us throughout our few hours there.Manager was also present and checked on us.Will definitely be back for more delicious food, drinks and hospitality.

Without a doubt the best Mexican food in town! This place is so popular that you have to book far in advance. Ive tried almost all of the dishes and they are all amazing! Portion sizes are huge and its great value for money.Panchos is the first place I go to when the craving for Mexican food strikes

When you enter you are greeted by a concierge who will arrange your table. I advise that you book a table in advance as the restaurant tends to run out of space. Bookings are only from 5.30pm.The food is amazing, I recommend sharing a meal if possible as the portions are huge and takeaway nachos arent the best! Other than that, try their signature Lemon and Strawberry margaritas. They are to die for!
