Good location, bad food. From all restaurants I have been to in Camps Bay this is worst. Very disappointing as I am a big fan of Indian food in general. The Raj is also quite pricey!

The restaurant has the perfect setting for sunset viewing over Camps Bay horizon and I must say the waiters are impeccable, fast friendly and attentive. However after trying some of the starters we decided that the food was not consistent with the setting and when it comes to Eastern curry I would rather get a takeaway from The Burner in Bellville the best curries in Cape Town or sit down.

Onion bajji is the best . Corn samosa not good . Paneer curry was great . Vegetables curry was okay . Mango Lassi not good. Palak paneer was amazing. We had dinner take away there for 3 nights . Was great . Prices looks reasonable when you come from Europe. But for people who dont want to eat rice should not be forced to take rice with curry instead provide chapati or just dont give anything and reduce the price of rice.

I really enjoyed our food experience at The Raj. The prices were ok and the alcoholic beverage prices were also affordable. The location is fantastic and close to all the vibrant surrounding spots. The butter chicked and samosas were to die for with amazing authentic flavours. I will recommend them if your in the area and in the mood for some lovely Indian cuisine.

Travelling and ordered on Uber Eats to our hotel room. The room wasnt ready so asked the restaurant to sit down for the meal instead, the incredibly rude and unfriendly manager charges an additional surcharge for eating at the restaurant despite us having already paid a 30% surcharge for ordering via ubereats.

The Raj.Had dinner at The Raj Restaurant in Cape Town.It was fairly late, a dark night and the street lighting not too good. Did not look too impressive. In side was different story. Quite spacious dining hall.Ours was a group booking, so can not accurately comment on the quality of service. However staff appeared polite and courteous. We had ordered Indian food.TheFood Was good and that was the aim.

Absolutely great North Indian dishes, very well worth it and enjoyed our time here, the only put off were the toilet conditions which would have made this a 5 star rating. The food portions and taste were just right, we had about 8 people on our table and we all selected something different to taste one anothers. By the time time we were done we were so stuffed. The food is really delicious and I can not stress that enough. From lamb to seafood, everything was devine.

Really enjoyed this Indian restaurant. Great food. Starting with the samosas, which were crunchy and came with lime and tamarind sauce.Garlic Naan is where its at. Big portion, a tad oily, but delicious. We got two types of curry and the spinach paneer. Look out for the pricing on sparkling water, because it will cost you almost double what a simple basmati rice will.Portions look small, but are appropriate, probably a good idea to order rice, Naan or a biryani on the side. Curry is fantastic and well made. Coconut, coriander, bay leaves and probably ten other spices in these dishes!

We ordered veg biryani. Pricey, but we thought maybe they’d add tofu/paneer, something of value. It ended up being rice mixed with some chopped up carrots and corn. Nice flavour but really, for such a high price? This should be a side dish for R50.

Charging 44 rands for 750 ml water. (seems like its coming from some waterfall in Himalayas)10% mandatory service fees (tip).*** 3 star for restaurant.Otherwise food tastes good and expensive as its on Camps Bay. But not happy with the charges for water. ( they should rather use a cheap 15 rands bottle ).Nearly all restaurant are using their own label with own prices on it, but no one is charging as high as 44 rands.

The staff does not have any manners to speak to the customers. We were a group of 5 friends visiting the restaurant and only 2 of us wished to eat. It was tasteless..bland..it actually tasted like a porridge... I asked them to take it back I I wouldnt eat it. I tried to order Butter chicken. It came soon, tasted like Ketchup! Photo is attached....Anyway. Service was alright, but one oldish looking man was serving table next to us, taking dished sticking his fingers over the food, disgusting...Never go here back.... Dont expect typical Indian Restaurant décor here, this restaurant has been influenced by rubbing shoulders with trendy Camps Bay eateries along side. I think that the portions are on the small side, apart from the huge, and delicious naans. But the flavours are fabulous. Well worth a visit if you dont mind paying a little over the odds, especially for a glass of wine.

I loved the food. The starters were great. We had a variety of samosas. The vegetarian variety was my favourite. Mains was authentic Indian curry, perfectly spiced and very tasty. Portioning was perfect. I thoroughly enjoyed the garlis naan bread. The highlight of the meal was definitely dessert. Heavenly wafer crusted chocolate balls which I will never forget! This unforgettable dining experience was perfectly complemented by a beautiful Cape Town beach sunset. A wonderful setting, picture perfect view, great company, great food, fabulous wine, yum!
