Excellent Indian food. It was really delicious. I highly recommend it
Went on a Monday. Only 1 waiter working. Half the food on the menu not available. Not authentic indian cuisine. Highly not reccomended
I really enjoyed the food. The service was top class.Keep up the good work
Looking for a casual night out with some really amazing Indian Cuisine and good wine selection makes this a good place to visit or frequent. The service is on point and the food is freshly prepared in an open air kitchen where you can view the chefs at work. Pricing - still a bit expensive but worth the taste experience.
AWARA restaurant. I cannot express how much I enjoyed the food. It was phenomenal, the portions great, service on point and overall setting superb. In the heart of the CT city bowl. It is pricey, but there is definitely evidence to support that. Alcohol, too expensive, so that needs some thought. Overall experience, flipping amazing
We visited the restaurant for date night. I had a lamb shank and rice. The portion was huge and I had to take half of it home. Taste wise, it didnt taste like the Bukhara I know. The spices were lacking flavour and taste. It was an okay meal but I can cook a better lamb shank. The restaurant has a cosy ambience which was lovely for a intimate dinner. The waiter was attentive but not enough to refill our glasses of wine from the bottle of merlot we ordered during the meal . Considering the restaurant was empty, there was only one other couple there, this was a disappointing. Overall, an okay experience but the food is nothing to write home about. And their prices have shot up. Wont be going back.

We opted for the Haiku menu. At first glance at the menu, I got nervous, because these is overwhelming amount of meat dishes. But, in between, there were some vegetarian gems hidden. I had beautiful tasty fried mushroom dim sum and full, flavoursome veggie spring rolls. What stole the show though, was the crispy, deep fried spinach. One od the best things I have eaten in my life.
Such lovely staff we celebrated a 50th birthday here and they did everything to help make it special. Great food. Amazing to watch the KITCHENS!
Limited menu (everything we wanted was out of stock) and average food
Ask for a sample of each meal. Superp
Amazing experience! Highly recommend and would definitely return! Food was delicious, well-priced, and filling. Our service was phenomenal! We had a group of 16 people with one member (me) who has a severe nut-allergy. Even with a kitchen full of nuts, they were able to accommodate. Our group had dishes to share, and our waiter was attentive in saying what I could and could not have. Best Indian food experience to date!
The Nan bread and curry was delicious
Incredibly succulent halal meat. Had their chicken tikka and lamb tikka in joberg, expected the same quality with their biryani (210 rand), and I wasnt disappointed! The portion was large enough for me to save 2 lamb pieces and some rice for the next day. Could probably share the meal between 2 people alongside a stater. Service was excellent, and the venue is great.
Amazing β€οΈ
It is sad that Bukhara used to be the place to go for authentic and delicious Indian food. Visited it recently in cbd and how it has changed...Diminished menu, limited vegetarian and vegan options. Some dishes that arenβt even Indian cuisine. Dishes lacked flavour and just missed the mark each time. Expensive and not worth the visit.
Great food and service. Restaurant has great vibe going.
Fragrant and delicious foods, lovely ambience, but a little pricey.
The place is cool. Its good and quiet.
What an incredible experience! The menu has a great range of Indian cuisine that should accommodate every palate. The food is presented so well for those who eat with their eyes. And the service is great! You are always made to feel really special! If you like Indian food, I strongly recommend I amazing restaurant.
Wine is eye wateringly expensive even by normal restaurant standards.
You just cant go wrong....
We went to this restaurant on Christmas, best ever.Absolutely superb. This is the best Bukhara outlet in Cape Town.Beautiful Restaurant, Amazing Service. The food was magnificent, compliments to the chefs. We will be back!
The food is great, and so is the ambience but they can struggle with service. Be prepared to wait for your food. Also pay attention that they have 2 different kitchens. This isnt necessarily obvious when you get the menu. The nuance there is that you have to understand there is one kitchen for starters and another for main meals but the menu doesnt tell you that.
Amazing food and atmosphere
One of the best culinary experiences Ive ever had. Food was spectacular and the service and hospitality was perfect. If you enjoy rich hearty meals then Bukhara is definitely a place for you.
Great hospitality, havent felt such warmth in a restaurant in a while. Thank you for your hospitality. The food was amazing.
Food was brilliant. Was at the others, this one beats them hands down. Good attention to detail and excellent service
Outstanding Butter chicken. Had it in a couple of Restaurants all over the World. This was the Best. Well balanced spices, the chicken so tender.... Bit expansive for ZA but worth it. Also the tandoori lamb chops were incredible delicious
Excellent Indian food. All freshly prepared. Curries, dosas and tandoori are all excellent. The staff is friendly and helpful. This is our go to Indian restaurant in Cape Town. We also love the location in central Cape Town.
Rude waitress made the night very awkward. For the prices we paid it would have been nice to have gotten stellar service. Food nice but not better than other well known (and cheaper) Indian restaurants in CPT.Emailed as requested but as yet I have not been contacted.
Came here as a tourist was recommended for Indian food, had a reservation for 3 and was sat right away once getting to the restaurant and someone helped us right away but from there on out wasnβt very please with the service. Put in an order for appetizers and waited atleast 15 minutes before our server came back to take our dinner order. Food was good but was never check up on after receiving our food. After finished was Offered dessert declined but asked for boxes for take away and they rapped them up for you, received the check and waited for server to come back to take the check before leaving and his comment was β just wanted to let you know that service charge was not included in the billβ our response was yes we are aware we have given you 15% and he replied βoh I havenβt looked yetβ was not very thrilled with the experience after having a comment made like that from a server. Would not be a place that would come to mind to recommend for anyone to go to
Went there today and were poorly attended to. Food received was good but the manager came off as incapable and uninterested. Just tried to brush us off when a complaint was made. Stop making your inefficiency our problem! Prices and service not worth a Sunday afternoon lunch
Food is good as always but god Im not gonna go there again in summer for the life of me.I was sitting there sweating and they refused to turn the air-con on even after I asked twice.my food wasnt even spicy.
Loved the food
Only 40% of the menu was available to order that night... We order chicken wings(extra hot) and garlic bread. No garlic could be tasted on the bread and the chicken wings wasnt even spiced.cant say i would go back again
Food was definitely not what we were use to. It was bland and definitely not worth the price tag. From a group of 4, whoever ate the Tandoori Chicken and Tandoori Prawns now got to put up with gastrointestinal problems. Food safety may need questioning. Open food was evident in the kitchen. Most definitely my last stop to this establishment. Iβve rated it 1 star to upload this review. Wish I could have rated it with NO stars because thatβs really my impression of this place.
This is the best indian food in the whole of Cape Town. The service is excellent and the food marvellous. We went there at 13:00 and left at 20:00. Sitting on the upstairs terrace feels like eating in a tree house. One of the best experiences in a long time.
Warm, welcoming ambience. Food was amazing and service prompt friendly and helpful. Didnt wait long for food...Chocolate mousse desert was insane. Loved it.
Fantastic curry. Service excellent. Waiter very knowledgeable of the items on the menu.
Fantastic moments i had
The food was simply delicious! The portions are pretty big too, definitely worth it! Though I wish the quality of the service would have matched the quality of our meals.
Good food. Poor service. Only a handful of guests but service was slow and not once did any member of staff ask if everything was ok or if we needed anything else.
Food was mostly bland but what was most shocking was that there was insensitive use of holy symbols and statues at the toilet entrance that we found to be most offensive as its primary use is at temple entrances in Indian temples. It clearly demonstrates a lack of sensitivity on the owners part as the owners (it seems) did not research its use and valued an authentic feel rather than authenticity.
Food was amazing! The balcony is a great spot for the summer! Great vibe. Friendly service.
We visited this place, keeping in view the reviews. Unfortunately could nt find it worth the review. The out look and fence is great, but they need to concentrate on food quality and spices. The food is not freshly made, the chicken was too dry whereas lamb had a smell in it. Would not come again.
Really good traditional Indian food. Would definitely recommend. Great veggie options as well.
This used to be the best indian food. it totally went downhill, no flavours and taste at all and extremely expensive, very disappointing! I hope they find their excellent quality again.
Your prices are out of line, regardless of the establishment and experience I cannot justify paying R199 for a mutton curry, which consists of 5 pieces of meat and no rice. Rice is an additional cost. Im sure your strategy is based on chasing spend per head, but bums on seats would be a better approach in the long run as I cant see too many people willing to pay R200 or more for a curry with your next menu increase.
The food was delicious and the service was great. Will definitely visit again
Authentic Indian cuisine. Upmarket restaurant with a good selection of curries and sides. Best in a group where you can share bowls tapas style.
Excellent food. Almost as good as in India! Loved the Biryani and the butter paneer. Well done!
Excellent food, great atmosphere and quite dark ambience. High prices but adequate for the level of this establishment. You can get the same quality food for way less money but not in this class of restaurant so what Im saying, if you not only want good Indian food but also a high-class setting this is the place to go.
I highly recommend this restaurant for Indian food they cater for all palates from mild to very hot, but the flavors are fantastic.
The host was very rude and put us in a corner by the entrance door and said I have a lot of reservations but Im helping you out by giving you this table... While the restaurant was empty on a rainy Sunday evening. A waiter came and asked us if we wanted another table since the restaurant is empty..we were confused, until he told us the host doesnt like foriengers. We left promptly.
Excellent restaurant. Well trained staff, impeccable presentation, delicious food. Highly recommended.
The food deserve five stars but the service doesnt deserve a star
The Bukhara at the Mother City CBD is no longer what it used to be! The furniture is aging. Sadly not gracefully. The prices, on the other hand, are shooting through the roof... And the food, although good, no longer wows one. Will I go back? No. I will not.
Definitely not the same restaurant I used to go to since the time they opened their doors. The recipes have changed the quality of the food shocking. Especially considering what the food costs.
Great place. The menu had several tasty choices, the food was delicious, the staff was kind and quick and the ambiance was dark and cosy. Sometimes theres some live music as well
Brilliant service and even better food
I am an Indian from the UK, the food was delicious and very, very authentic! You must visit if you like Indian food!
Indian food standard nothing exciting prices are steep thou atmosphere excellent
I made a mistake and ordered take away at the wrong Bukhara (ordered at the one in the waterfront) . The French waiter at cbd was so incredibly nice and kind to me, he cancelled the waterfront order and gave me some poppadoms and water and got everything ready for me really quickly at cbd. The food is amazing here and the service is even better.
I like a good curry, and Bukhara has been around for some time and not lost its touch. I finally tries something outside of my usual tikka or roganjosh and I was quite impressed. It was not butter chicken or korma so...
Enjoyed it very much! One note: The Google maps placement is off by one block. Need to go up one street to the North West.
Great Indian food! One of the best places to get a curry!
Food and service excellent. Our waiter was ex-Moyo Eden on Big Bay in Blouberg & really took such good care of us he deserves a mention. Bit on the pricey side so we were guided on how best to share as portions reasonably generous.
Best curry Ive ever tasted and beautiful setup with awesome staff to assist you with the different food choices.
Good value for money. Well balanced spice. But I was expecting better Naan
Ordered a few things recently from this restaurant. The food was quite spicy but excellent! Highly recommend
One of the best Indian restaurants in Cape Town. We have been coming here for many years and they do not disappoint.
Ok that was disappointing. It was overrated and over priced. Sadly did NOT live up to expectations. The food was average, however the service was rather lousy. We had a Russian waiter. .. yes Russian, who could not explain the dishes well at all. The menu needs descriptions. Felt rather ripped off. I will not recommend this to others.
I didnt visit Bukhara restaurant. I went to the pharmacy below the restaurant but it appears close enough that Google and the restaurant owners feel that they can send me an unwarranted, intrusive push notification asking me to rate the restaurant.Proximity to a place does not automatically imply consent to publicly endorse the venue. This is a prime example of poor AI and unwarranted endorsement requests.FAIL!
Weve been going for a good number of years and our latest visit was definitely the best visit of the lot. The service was excellent and we actually walked out of there with no leftovers which is a record for us. If you enjoy Indian food this definetly the best spot in CapenTown
Great food, some of the most tender cooked meat in Cape Town. Would recommend if you a fan of curry.
There is simply no other Indian restaurant that comes close to the cuisine and the standard. Truly a rare culinary experience!
A very good Indian cuisine restaurant in Cape Town. The original restaurant in the central business district is still the best compared to its other branches.
Preferred the food and interior of this branch compared to the one in the waterfront. There is parking available inside the bulding for a fee; which has easy access to the restaurant (dont have to walk in the street at night)
Had a vindaloo curry, π€πΆπΆπΆ both service and food was great! Pricey but well worth it.
Bukhara arguably has the best Authentic North Indian Cuisine in SA . My first choice when it comes to Indian Food . Portions are generous and absolutely delicious. The Chicken Cheese , Dhal Makni , Biryani and Prawn Curry is on point . The Service can sometimes be a bit slow , but worth the wait . The Chefs defintely know how to Cook .
Good Indian food with a nice flare of service and atmosphere in the restaurant. The breads were not the best Ive had but the curries were tasty and if you ask for it spicy, they dont hold back!
Firstly there was no Host at the door. Waiting for a minute to be acknowledge. Then a waiter seats us. We were waiting for 10 minutes. I am very disappointed. I love the food buy the service is really bad.
Gregg Randall and his team gave us excellent service. Food was delicious and the dessert was divine!
Really good fine dine reataurant in downtown Capetown. Really authetic indian cuisine.
Hated the place. It was said that its a must visit place. But disappointing food and staff behavior.
