One of the worst experiences ever..one can still bear bad food in exchange of best service..We as Indians felt like racism at the restaurant..made to sit in a corner..hardly nyone coming to attend..almost choked coughing and waiter ignored completely when my friend rushed to call for water and help..icing on d cake..manager Sunil was more curious to warn us to ensure our mask is on without caring why we were running in d restaurant...average tasting food and taste became even sour with pathetic customer service....please make efforts and cook urself instead of facing experience as ours

Its a place you take someone you want to impress. Calm atmosphere, nice wine selection, sharp service, and of course, true Indian food. If youre an Indian food poser, dont eat here - when they say its hot - its hot. About R200 per person, including drinks, large portions you can share. Sadly, no wheelchair access

If I was going on the Palak Paneer alone this would be 1 star. It was bland and had zero curry taste. It was underwhelming and close to inedible. The samosas were also bland and pretty oily, the naan bread tasted okay but was very greasy. The only reason I would give this 3 stars (more like 2.5 but that is not an option) is my boyfriends prawn masala was decent. Not great but okay. Overall the food was very meh. We all ordered medium spice but there was almost no spice and the flavor was not there. I dont understand how this has such great reviews, we went there expecting good food because of the misleading reviews. It is also really expensive, 150 to 250 rand per main dish but the flavor is no where near the price they are charging. There are so many Indian places around I would recommend chosing one of the others. The pictures look a lot better than the taste. The waitress was nice, not overly friendly but nice and the wine was good.

If I were to choose any restaurant in Cape Town for the best curry, Bihari in Newlands, would be my first choice. Great service, great food and real value. My favourite starter is a plate of hot crispy Prawn Koliwada followed by the Daal Makani, a superb lentil dish or the Lamb Bhunna Gosht. Added to this a bowl of fresh Cucumber Raita and a delicious garlic Naan bread. My kind of heaven.

We ordered from Mr delivery, I have been struggling to find good quality Indian food with the real deal garlic naan bread.. and even the the price was a tad above average the food was delicious!! They have good quality meat..(no fat pieces) actual meat!!! With delicious sauce, the owner was a British lady I think, who was so kind when Mr Delivery spilt our food out during delivery. All in all very happy with the quality and quantity of the food. Please stay just as you are! As quality and quantity is hard to find. All the love

Had a dinner reservation for 8:30pm and the kitchen closes at 9pm which we were not aware off. The dining experience was very rushed with the food coming out quickly. We ate the Butter Chicken was good and the Paneer Tikka Masala which lacked the authentic tikka taste. The garlic Naan was also a bit doughy and heavy but had good flavor. Mango lassis were well balanced in flavor and consistency

Do yourself a favour and visit this restaurant! I naturally look at every small detail wherever I go, from making the reservation telephonically, until the end, because its ingrained in me as a F&B Management graduate with years of experience - and I can be quite special at times, so trust me when I say that this place provides top star service excellence! The managers went out of their way to accommodate all of our special requests (and we had a few), so that we could have a lovely 50th birthday celebration in honour of my mother. Great social distancing during Covid-19, so we definitely felt safe. Our cutlery and napkins were prepackaged, ensuring mininal handling during these scary times, which put us at ease. Megan, the manager is an absolute pleasure to deal with - such a sweetheart!! Waitrons were friendly and exceptionally helpful!! Back in 2009 I use to frequent the restaurant after work (I worked at Southern Sun Newlands), and very happy that nothing had changed .. still feels like home to me. The food is still delicious and worth every penny. The masala chai deserves 5 stars too. I was missing the tall, thin manager who was there at the time, but overall a great experience. THANK YOU, Bihari!! Well be back very soon!!
