My daughters father was in recovery at this hospital after his stroke. He notified me that he tested positive for Covid while being there. It was about 2 weeks in and I called him and all he could say to me is that he cannot breathe.I have to question the loyalty and concern the staff have because I honestly feel they did not take good care of him. They next day he was deceased. One would think that a hospital such as this will provide their patients with the best but I do not agree.I want people to know this and if ever your love one suffers from a stroke do not ever bring them to this hospital. If at all possible, take care of them at home.

Ian Barnard. Cape Town. I had the privilege to stay at Cape view for one month after 78 in the icu in the hospital. From the moment they pushed me into my room, I felt a calm happy almost like home feeling coming over me. From DR Cilliers who I saw daily and the other doctors to the physio team Nick & Tammy and their team mates, a huge thank you to get me in shape and motivated to get better and stronger. I believe that when you get to a rehab you can not expect miracles if you dont give your best from your side. it works both ways. NICK & TAMMY got know me so well in one month to push me when needed and to encourage when I was on q low. thanks for the love and support guys. `the gym was fun and great. The nurses/sisters wa good, the food was good, the toilets/showers were close by and clean and I believe that from the manager to the cleaners, they actually care for you and want you to have no stress and get better an stronger. Thanks to everybody. A HUGE SHOUT OUT TO SUSAN for the chatting and and TLC.Take care you guys. Love you. Ian

One of my family members was sent to this rehabilitation facility after suffering a stroke. I have no complaints about the rehabilitation aspect itself, but this hospital lacks sufficient care facilities. My family member had trouble breathing and couldnt eat or drink for more than a day. After many attempts, we finally convinced the medical staff to put her on oxygen to help her breathe, but they refused to put her on a drip even though she was dehydrated.Furthermore, one of the women my aunt saw while visiting one day was struggling to move and couldnt help herself to water. My aunt gave her water to drink and informed the nursing staff that the patient required care. However, no one came to assist the woman in the hour that my aunt spent there afterward.

Today my mother will be there days at the facility, last night sister/staff that worked there she called for them to come assist her to change her position of sleep but they kept ignoring/shhhhh each other and when I called she sobbing and this is not the services I expected so early. With their ignorance she can develop very severe bedsores because her hands cant move/work since she was sick for over a month now, so she came there to be rehabilitated/physiotherapy to get her back to her normal self. I am so hurt and disappointed

Thank you so much for each and every ones professional contribution to making my husband, father and grandfathers stay there as comfortable as possible especially in the time of Covid we could not visit him. We were informed daily by Dr de Wet about his condition. Here are still caring people with decent patient care. This was the 2nd time in a few months. You all are tops. Highly recommended.
