My first experience at Damascus was an absolute pleasure. The food, the service and the environment was absolutely fantastic. I am fussy when it comes to the food I eat as well as the service rendered. However, this is a recommendation of note. For those who enjoy a smoke, they are in a separate section. This is the right way to conduct business as I cant handle inhaling smoke. Well done. Food was lovely. I could continue complimenting them, but let me return for more.

The Ambiance of the Restraurant was very RelaxingThe Staff was very PoliteWe were seated at the door ,because they take bookings only ,they accommodated us later at another table .Food Delivery was very QuickI ordered a Chicken Breast Meal ,way to HUGE portions and it ended up being a bit to dry ..Sauce made it easy to EatThe Other Meal was The Lamb MealCame on a Hotplate ,which dried all the food on it ,Rice just seemed impossible to eat without be given a spoon to disheventually getting to the last Lamb Chops which was overcooked by the hotplate

Delicious Food, Good quick service, No complaints regarding the Ambience, we enjoyed our evening at the restaurant. Waffles were bit disappointing, a bit to doughy which prevents me from giving it 5 stars.

Excellent food and service. The Shisha is fantastic as well (go for the lotus head). The drinks are also amazing. You must try the Buffalo wings and steak.Portion sizes are very decent and it might be a good idea to share dessert. A restaurant you must experience!

Had the most amazing dinner. From the moment we got there till we had to leave...the friendly staff made us feel sooo at home. Was great having Liaqat around to help is with our selection. The vibrancy of the place was truly great. Highly recommended 👌 👍 👏 💯% 🙌 😊 forgot to take pics of the meals oi. The Arabic coffee was delish...smooth on the palette and long lasting memory.

A definite must do! There was a bit of a wait to get in but the delicious food made up for that 10 fold. The hummus and lamb starter blew my mind. The mains were very tasty and were good portion sizes. The meats were soft and juicy and just perfectly cooked. Im going back!

We had a wonderful breakfast at Damascus this morning. The staff was really friendly and helpful throughout the visit. I had the egg & sausage breakfast, it came with tomatoes, mushrooms, flat bread, eggs and kinda spicy sausage. It was so yummy! Z had something like a flat bread with beef, peppers, and cheese (we cant remember the name). The Arabic coffee was absolutely amazing, full of flavour and just strong enough. We also ordered a hookah and the staff were so nice, they kept on checking in on it, and our experience. I ended off my meal with the kunefeh with ice cream, and Im absolutely in love! We will definitely be visiting again, (especially for the kunefeh ;)...). Thanks, Damascus staff and Chef Modrek. ❤️

Meal was delightful. Middle Eastern flavours were good. Presentation was lovely. Dessert was our favourite part of the meal. The Syrian Crepe was top draw. My kids also enjoyed the ice tea.

I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Took my mom for her bday. I had the Chicken Alakaif which was divine and I really enjoyed the Mocktail, Cherry Blossom and Rosemary, I had recommended by our lovely waitress Andy. Its a definite must try. I will go there again.

Family friendly environment coupled with great food. The owner is on site and is very hands on which helps maintain the quality standards.You should definitely make a reservation as they get very busy!

From the time that you walk through the door to the time that you leave, you are treated like royalty. We were a big group and we kept changing the menu, they didnt even flinch and we got exactly what we wanted. Service is great and the atmosphere absolutely awesome. Overall quality of the food & Presentation was absolutely flawless. The waiting period for a relatively small order was quite lengthy.I received my milkshake long after the waffles were served in fact I finished the waffles by the time the milkshake arrived and the waffles themselves took quite a while to be served after ordering.The staff were friendly but the overall serving time could do with some adjustment especially since the restaurant wasnt at full capacity.

Damascus was a wonderful dining experience. We were a party of 6 and the waiter was very clued up with the menu, he made some good recommendations. Mohamed came to the table and asked us how everything was. The food was divine, better than most of the restaurants around town. We also enjoyed that there was enough condiments with the meal, didnt have to order anything extra.Definitely our new favorite dining spot.

Excellent food and good service. Checked up on us at least 3 times. Great atmosphere and tea. The grills were not burnt to a crisp and it was the first time that I had grilled lamb cubes that were not tough. Food was also flavorful and catered to the South African palate unlike most middle eastern places where the flavours are just salt, pepper and lemon juice. I hope that this new place stays this way and does not cut corners with quality and service once they are more busy.

Authentic food that taste fresh and just overall amazing! I was blown away by how good the seesh bil-fakhara tasted, which the waitress recommend. The staff are all friendly and efficient. Despite the restaurant being busy, we did not have to wait long for our food. I will definitely be returning to and recommending Damascus .

Amazing food, best falafel and buffalo wings I have ever had, the hummus, mezze, grilled meat and chicken are so good. The atmosphere is good and comfortable. And finally the desserts are top notch, brownie waffle and crepes with ice cream. Bring playing cards with, it made the wait a bit easier, but everything else is great.

Chilled environment for friends or intimate dinner for couples. Their Belgian waffles are delicious and service is really good 🌟

I had high hopes but the experience was decidedly underwhelming. The food was okay (the falafel was most excellent) but the service left much to be desired. It was tardy and erratic with the waitress bungling two of our orders (mixing up the orders) and then not offering to rectify it instead hovering around our table expecting us to fix it with the result that we ended up ordering a replacement dish in addition to paying for the one she got wrong. We were a party of 10 but had only one waitron, in spite of paying the requisite 10% gratuity, and my brother ended up receiving his food after everyone else had already finished eating despite at least three reminders to the waitron! Clearly this is a training issue and its noticeable from your latest ratings which appear to have dropped. I wont be returning there soon.

Good food. The Syrian grills at Damascus are a cool idea. Just make sure theres enough coals in the tray to keep the food warm. When we were there the entrance doors needed to be open (maybe COVID related), so we asked for additional coals in the grill to keep the food warm.

Amazing food! And friendly staff makes your visit so much enjoyable, I had an interesting chat with the owner a few days and he was really genuine, loved that! I even promised him this review afterwards and I’m a man of my word, Keep up the amazing food and atmosphere, much love 👍🏽

Place is ok for shesha and arabic food lover. The ambiance is not much pleasent to relax. Food taste is not much of pure arabic. Prices for two person is a bit on high side and cost around R400. Overall its just another normal kinda restaurant if no other options are available.5 out 10 for this.

We requested to sit in the smoking area as we wanted to indulge in some shisha but after we were seated we were ignored for 15 mins lol. Children are allowed in the smoking area which was strange because it seemed like no one cared that accidents happen and shishas can be knocked over. We had brownie waffles, hot drinks and mocktails. Waffles were filling and delicious but ice cream was average. Shisha could have lasted longer, so definately over-priced R120. I was surprised to see a mandatory 10% service fee added to our bill (we were 2 at the table) and there is a section on the bill for a tip as well which is confusing. What is the service fee for??? Overall satisfying experience, will go back for dinner.

Was not impressed with quality of food. The platter the food is served in is fancy but not very practical to eat out of. Ordered freshly pressed juice, didnt taste like it was 100% juice and it was quite pricey considering the portion. The shisha was the best part.

The person escorting us to our table was very unprofessional and harassed 3 members for being late, yet the rest of the group were punctual and had ordered already.

The visit was singularly disappointing. We booked to break fast, and at the appropriate time were advised that there were no dates. There was one other table occupied at this time, so it strikes me that they didnt plan on having dates for us even though I called to reconfirm the about an hour before arriving. On Facebook, and when we called, we were advised that they serve complimentary soup. However, they billed us R130 for two small bowls of Harira soup, which did not even get served with bread, etc. When I asked the waiter about this on my bill he simply told me they didnt offer the soup for free.Portions were small for a mixed grill, the lamb chop was lovely. No humus served with mixed grill, and they refused to swap the fries for a simple garden salad. Expect a few drops of garlic sauce on the platter.The restaurant was freezing cold, and waiter kept leaving the gate open to make it easier for guests stepping out to smoke etc.

Hubby and i went for lunch at Damascus definately a 10/10 Food was delicious 😋 portions are sufficient and staff was friendly❤ looking forward to my next visit!!
