Today, however, has left me unsure of whether I will ever return to scar:This morning I drove through to Cape Town from Stellenbosch to attend my midday hair appointment. At around 10am I got a phone-call to inform me that my appointment is cancelled due to a double booking issue. In exchange I was offered a later appointment with different stylist - not something I could accommodate.Disregarding the fact that I had delayed leaving for the Garden Route with my family for Easter specifically to attend this appointment with the specific stylist I booked for ánd that I had driven an hour to get there, I am extremely disappointed in scar’s handling of the situation: I was not offered anything except the ability to rebook my appointment even after I explained how it had inconvenienced me. I also fail to see ANY good reason to let a customer know about a double booking issue a couple of hours before the appointment.If they had let me know the day before I would have been disappointed but not furious, as I am now.I know slip ups happen, but this one and the handling of it has left me unable to see myself returning to scar.

Natalie (I do hope I spell her name right) is brilliant with discussing and executing the cut and adding her own touch. At Scar the music, cleanliness, and service is on-point.

Admin is a bit of a nightmare and it always takes me a few attempts to get through to make an appointment. But once there the service is great and all of the staff are welcoming and friendly. Knowledgeable and very talented stylists. The absolute best head massages as well. Highly recommend both Roxy and Shanon - incredibly talented ladies that are great at what they do.

Have had several mediocre cuts from this place, but kept trying a different stylist in the hopes they would live up to their name.Got a cut in Feb before lockdown - honestly just wanted my ends trimmed, a treatment and fringe+undercut tidy, nothing rocket science.Its nearly June and Im still trying to recover from this visit... desperately trying to grow out whatever their idea of a trim is. Will not ever go back.

Loved my haircut. Just wish the washing up chairs and basin were more comfortable and didnt move down with pressure. And that there would be more of a pampering aspect with a nice head massage.

Scar were really accommodating of my schedule and kept in communication really well so we could fit my appointment around it. Marian consulted with me and cut my hair exactly how I wanted it!! Hair wash and massage was lavelyyy too. Great service and value!

Loved getting my hair done here. Robyn is so talented and kept me entertained for the three hours I was there. Getting through to the reception desk is very difficult so I ended up making an appointment with Robyn personally through her email. The salon is spacious and has two floors. They offer drinks and beverages as well. I just wish they could incorporate a pamper/massage element to their wash basin routine.

Im visiting Cape Town and found good reviews of Scar online, so decided to head here. I wasnt disappointed! The staff were all knowledgeable, customer service was exemplary, and they did a fantastic job with my hair. I wish I lived closer so I could make Scar my regular hairdresser! HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Had a great hair cut here! I also got great advise for the hairdresser and got to enjoy my haircut with an ice cold Savanna. It can get quite pricy, but you get what you pay for! The only downside it trying to find parking nearby, so be sure to arrive early so you still have time to find a parking spot and take a walk. Was really happy with the service as well as the products that I bought. Will keep coming back.

At first thought the job was great although I had to go back to get the haircut redone. And had to pay again. I went later to another hairdresser for a Stylish Hairdo for a family members birthday as the hairdresser work with my hair she ask if I cut my hair myself. It was actually cut scew at the back

I am forever loyal to Jenni who has a God-given talent. Unfortunately, the administration at Scar is atrocious - getting an appointment and even phoning them can take several attempts, so be prepared. Sometimes, I feel its not always worth it especially when you add what a mission it is to get parking in that part of Kloof Street.

JENNI SMIT is hands down the best hair stylist i have ever been to! She is a reason to travel to cape town . She is works magic with curls. she taught me how to take care of my curls and cut them like know one has ever before. I am so thankful to have met her. Cant wait to go back

Jo is a creative genius. She took the time to sit with me and discuss the look I wanted. She came up with some fantastic suggestions, and furthermore executed the colour and cut perfectly! Its rare for me to walk out of a salon and be happy with the end result, and for once I really am. I would recommend Jo without any hesitation.

I was surprisingly contacted by Scar not along after my original review (see below). I was offered services to remedy my negative hair result, after my initial appointment. Andre was the stylist allocated to me and found his candor refreshing. He gave me a treatment to restore the protein of my hair and as you can pick up, he explained everything thoroughly to me. I provided him with a picture of a cut and asked him to take my face shape into consideration. He adapted the cut appropriately and did a stellar job. I highly recommend Andre as a master stylist. I definitely rate Andre a 5.I forgot to add Carlos who did a brilliant job on my fussy 11 year old son in September.I gave a 4 because for Scar because:My only let down was that I was told my appointment would be for 2 hours and wanted some color done, out of my own pocket of course. The appointment was only for one hour.Old review: “A very disappointing experience. Colorist seriously messed up my hair and she basically trimmed the edges on the existing cut. I didn’t notice because she had curled it and only noticed after I did my own hair. Ad for special was extremely misleading. I will rather stick to Carlton’s in the future.”

Scar hair is known for their outrageous and fun styling options, which has had me apprehensive at first as I am much more conservative. However, the lovely Shanon at Scar made the experience enjoyable ensured that I walked away with an amazing, natural new look.

Was phoned to come in for an appointment due to a slot being open. They assured me that if I were a few minutes late, that another hairdresser could assist me so the drive would be worthwhile. Drove and rushed 40 km to the salon to be there as fast as possible. Ran in and was 15 minutes late. Was told by the hairdresser that I should rebook and showed me the door. The other clients looked at us in disbelief... :( rating based on client service and not on quality of work*

Worst haircut, completely lied about knowing how to cut curly hair and now I am stuck with a terrible haircut until it grows out.AND if that wasnt bad enough they got in touch to give me a refund and then never actually did. Terrible haircuts and even worse customer service. 2 months later and I am still having to wait till my hair grows long enough to fix 😡

I visited Scar about two weeks ago and had an appointment with Leandi. Before I visited, my hair had previously been bleached inconsistently and as a result, had been patchy. I went to Scar with the intention to get a natural balayage look and also get rid of the horrible red-copper brassiness. The staff are wonderful, don’t get me wrong and Leandi and her assistant were super-friendly, but I don’t think I got what I paid for. Two weeks in, I would have hoped to get used to my new colour, but it looks so bad - my hair is more brassy than it was when I came in. In fact it is a close to an orange shade - I really thought it would get better over the weeks. I paid R2800 and yes, while the colour is consistent to an extent, although much lighter at the top, it’s really not what I wanted. I wanted a lighter shade, but with no brassiness. If this could not have been achieved, it should have been told to me. To fix my previous dye job, I would have rather gone darker as opposed to going lighter with more brassiness. I have to now try and fix a R2800 colour with box dye, which I really don’t want to do and don’t think I have the guts to do - so I have to live with my orange halo.Made an appointment for highlights with them in a June, but I don’t think I’ll visit there again. Never been so disappointed, especially considering the money I spent.

I made telephonically an appointment with scar on yesterday, for today. I requested 5 pm but the lady on the phone explained that I should rather come 16:45 as that suit Scar better.I nicely arrived on time 16:37 and take a seat on the sofa. Finally after more than 30 minutes, I got my hair shampood and got seated at my hairdresser (which was still busy with another client). At 16:25 the hairdresser finally started cutting my hair, which she did very nicely. I left Scar today (05-06-18) at 18:20. It almost took me 2 hours to get a men’s haircut.Please Scar, if you want to keep clients work on this. I literally wasted almost an hour of my valuable time. Anyway, thanks for the haircut.

Overpriced and overrated. Staff are arrogant and youll leave feeling like youve been ripped off and your hair is not what you wanted at all. After 2 washes my white blonde had gone badly yellow and colour washed out completely. Would never go back.

Roots cover-up was not colour matched correctly and washed out after 3 weeks. Its the 2nd time I feel I spent good money on a bad job done at Scar.
