Its all very nice and good that the Sassa website says: apply at an office nearest where you live. When we eventually, after a 4 hour wait, confronted the interviewing clerk, she informed us that they only deal with people living in CERTAIN suburbs, and we would need to go to the Athlone or C.T. City Centre office. So a whole day was wasted, and money to go with it. The website also does not indicate that on a first visit one makes an appointment for a specific date to submit the application, nor is there any mention that an application for old peoples grant is only done on certain days of the week! Talk about user unfriendly system. Deserves NO star!

The service provided is weak. I stood outside for 3hrs waiting to be helped. The security didnt have enough information to help anyone.

Be prepared as some staff are extremely helpful and others not. Check that they give you the correct request, info and correct procedures as they did mine wrong!

After dreading the visit to SASSA Wynberg this morning, I was assisted by a gentleman by the name of Denzil, he was superb, extremely helpful and took his time to ensure that I was sorted. Thank-you Denzil.

This local office is situated at a historical venue...William Herbert Sports Grounds. Many local residents, myself included, can vouch for the atmosphere and events previously held - and occasionally still do - at the grounds. The Sassa office is located in the main hall and is fairly well demarcated. The security at the reception will advise you appropriately. I had to visit the office on behalf of my mom-in-law and while the office was reasonably full and busy, I was attended to fairly promptly and received what I had visited for. Well done to the staff involved.

The telephone number on line says it doesnt exist. Really!!! Please correct your records.

25 mins and counting... our agents are all currently busy says the message round and round... we are changing our system and are not contactable... who cares about pensioners anyway... certainly not the oh so capable powers that be.

Closed at 2pm on a Friday afternoon even though all signage clearly says open till 4pm. Elderly and vulnerable people are travelling to you, at least be available for your stipulated hours.

Friendly, efficient and very helpful staff.
