Keeping people for 4hrs to wait for license renewal just shows the level of incompetence that has become and acceptable mods operandi in this country.

Very pleasant experience. Special queue for pensioners. In and out in 10 minutes to renew my vehicle license. Got there about 10am on a week day. Kudos to the Pinelands Municipality and their vehicle registration section.

Very pleasant experience every time I have gone to this municipal office. The queue is quite orderly with two seperate queues: one for under 60s and another for pensioners and mobility-challenged persons. Inside there is a ticketing system that runs smoothly with cushioned seats. The offices are clean and the office is well-staffed although some of them are quite grumpy and have forgotten they are civil servants. Overall, would highly recommend.

We have been so impressed with this traffic office on our past 2 visits. The officials are helpful and patient, and have gone the extra mile for us on both occasions. They seem to have an enjoyable working environment, and interact with each other and the public in a positive way. They also accept card payments, which makes the process easier. Thank you!

What a massive improvement since last year. Efficient, helpful, well organised and painless. Out with my vehicle licence within 15 minutes. Thumbs up!

Standing in the que 5 hours today to get car license disc. Extremely slow

I went for my motor vehicle registration and license renewal on Monday and I must say, the service was excellent. There was no queue at all and the lady that helped me was a Mrs/Miss N Nontshinga and she was the quickest touch typist I have ever seen. It took less than 10 minutes and I was hugely impressed. The security guard was also wonderful and jumped to his feet when I approached him and sorted out the correct documents from the many extras I had.

I was, very disappointed today stood in the pensioner queue for about 2 hours from 12ish i dont kno if the number system actually works for seniors, as it took ages to b served a very uncomfortable experience outside in the sun

This is such a waste of time municipal office.They are understaffed and the there is no one at the gates to direct people to que. Both security guards are standing at the municipal office door instead of at the gates.

The staff and even security at the traffic department were very friendly, but the manager has a real attitude problem. He speaks down to the people waiting in the queue and speaks very abruptly. He needs a major attitude adjustment. Besides for him, all the other staff and the service is non-complainable. Thank you guys.

I called the traffic department on the municipality number and got the incorrect address. The consultant gave me address 20 central square. The GPS directed me Saint Stevens Road. When I eventually arrived at the department I was informed they only assist with Fine payments on mondays Wednesdays and fridays. Would be great if they could make mention of it.

Totally dissapointing service. Waited over a hour to just go inside, after asking 3 times can I renew my drivers license. Got inside and then said they only do car license. How frustrating!! More so, you can can pay fines 3 days a week. Cant rely on this Municipality for anything except dissapointing service

In the que at just before 6.45am , opened promptly at 8.00am , done by 8.05am. Well done Pinelands great experience.

...got there early...was done within an hour... like the new number system...and inside seating with distancing in place... friendly security controlling the queue outside & at the door...once at the window it is a speedy process....

Took mum there this morning as she is unable to sign a permission letter due to a severe stroke. Her car license needed renewal and after 5 hours in the line yesterday this morning Desmond came to my car. Said please dont take mum out of the car and took me straight in and had the license renewed. Big thanks to Desmond for his superb friendly efficient service. Youre a real star.

Get there early! I arrived at 5am and was 6th in the queue. No longer do you receive a ticket number. I suggest taking a camp chair, your ID and proof of address. You no longer need to fill out any forms (except a Covid form). At 8am they open the gates and allow 10 people at a time. Once youre in, its a 5 minute process. They also accept cards. Glad its done!

I went today to renew my car licence. There service was really quick once the building is open all there service booths were open but be warned get there early because it does get full.(Long line) Except for the waiting in the line the service I got there is really good.

Useful place. Just the queuing is a nightmare. So as one of the other reviewers suggested, arrive very early and take a camp chair with you. Also have some cash as there is a lady in a car on the opposite side walk who sells refreshments. She has a snap scan feature too... I suppose ticket numbers and codes (reflecting which transactions will be conducted) should really be implemented to allow smoother smoother operatorion and maybe geting the queues to move faster.

Just to give everyone an idea of how long it takes and what time to get here:I arrived at 6:45, got a number (42), then waited in the car, so did all the other people with numbers. At 7:30 we started getting in the line according to our numbers (1.5m apart). There is a separate line for pensioners line that merge with the main line at the entrance. Getting here at 6:45 I got to the desk at 11:55 (5h5m later).My advice is to get here even earlier than I did and not to drink too many fluids.

Pieces of paper handed out with a number from and unmarked vehicle thats not even on the premises. This is used to supposedly manage the queue but there is no consistency from 1 day to the next. Theres security on the premises that should be controlling the queue from the inside. But these guards were allowing people in that were not queueing while the rest of us stood in a queue for 6 hours. The Pinelands Municipality doesnt even deserve the 1 star!

I renewed my vehicle license during my lunch break. I found the queue outside. It moved quickly. What was most impressive was the quick service of one particular teller. He was so efficient. This allowed me to return to work quickly. Another customer had a meeting and she was able to return to her office in time for her meeting as well. Superb service Mr ME Fisher.

Really terrible at this time with the short staff and back log, queued outside in the hot sun for 3 and Half hours only just renew the license disc which took about 2 minutes.There where times when the queues would stop moving, then they say the system is slow or lunch break. If you are a pensioner you get priority and done within 20 minutes while the rest of us bake in the sun

Quite a big set up and ample secure parking. The fresh air around the facility compliments the place.

This is probably one of the worst places Ive dealt with. Its been 4 weeks now since they took my cars registration documents and said it needs to go to department of transportation. The lady told me it would take maximum 5days. I call and no answer when they did answer once, the guys just said please dont phone us every day.

Excellent efficient, fast and friendly service.It took less than 10 min to transfer theownership of a vehicle, renew a license, and change the number plates of the vehicle.To avoid waiting in long queues, I recommend that you visit the center before 11 am in the mornings.

Failed institution. Went 3 times this week - interminable queues. Today they decided to call it day. Meanwhile, saps traffic issuing fines for expired licenses.

Queued outside and no one had the decency to inform the people that they will not be helping people anymore.

Lockdown update: Expect to queue for about 6 hours! I was there from 8am till 2pmNon-lockdown days:Queued for less than a minute and was out within 5 minutes! Pretty impressed with how quick it was.

Absolute magic. Have never been served that quickly and efficiently by any government institution. I went to get my car registered in Cape Town. Got the renewal, and paid for my new licence without any issues. No queue. Will never queue in Cape Town again and always come here instead. Literally magic.

There may be short queues but don’t expect a consistent story regarding a non standard process. Wasted my time going there twice with no resolution or attempt to assist. Oh and delivered with the same attitude and disdain I have come to expect from a government department
