The staff here are always friendly and willing to assist. They tend to take strict Covid protocols. Although it does get busy, they try to assist. I would recommend bringing cash with as they were offline the last time I was here. The staff are not lazy and do put the effort in.

Had to do drivers license renewal, arrived just before 9, was done at 10.15. Waiting times not bad at all, one person is directing customers which helps if youre unsure of where to queue etc. Theres about 3 friendly, really helpful people. The rest are terribly unpleasant and rude, will not even offer a hello in return. Really glad I dont have to come back here for another 5 years.

What a painless and awesome experience! The wait prior to entering the building was all worth it. While waiting outside you were regularly informed as to the progress. My day wasnt bad and the reception I received at the places I visited was excellent. I collected the checkup Form from the Doctor and it was completed as promised Friday. Then took a 20-30min walk to the Traffic Department, luckily it was still open and I was the last person for the day with out even standing in a queue 😎👍

They are fairly well organised and dont come later than 12pm because the line is long and they close by 3pm. The official office hours is till 15.30pm but they dont allow people I side after 3pm. If you renew your drivers licence before its expired it costs R140, after expiry R185. There is a lady in front of the building that takes ID photos for R60 for 4 in both colour or black & white. You cant come in just to collect a form due to covid. You will have to wait in line to get it so you might as well stay. You will need proof of address and your ID.

August 2021 - Friendly service and efficient as they possibly could be.Went for Drivers Licence Renewal.Got there on a Tuesday, 10h55 and left at 13h30. Waiting outside was about an hour and 15 mins or so, the rest mostly waiting for eye test.Cost R140 - August 2021. 2 photos needed. Bring more photos if Temporary Drivers is needed. Apparently should take 5 to 6 weeks for new Drivers license to be ready for collection. Was told they will send sms.Covid protocols are in place, although you sit in same seat as person before you in the line for eye test.

The people running the department are very capable. My only complaint is that optometrist certificates are not accepted, which makes the whole process longer (and more risky in terms of covid transmission as hundreds of other people use this machine daily).

I experienced exceptional service. I was in & out under an hour for my drivers license renewal & temporary drivers license. The only slab was that their emails were down so I had to go and print out proof of residence at the near by shop. Overall, it was a good experience.

Got my drivers licence renewed recently. The renewal process was quick and painless. I was in and out in 30 minutes. When I picked up the licence there was a long queue but I skipped it, as I was just collecting. That process was also really quick. The building is clean, Covid protocols were followed, and staff were helpful.

Hated it..The website says they close at 12:30 but the officials decide to tell people to leave the queue at 12:00... And they wont let anyone in the building after 12:00....Its a long weekend .... The attitude from the blonde female official was very degrading towards the people eagerly awaiting to be helped.

Booked a learners licence with my daughter. Arrived at 8.25 am. Left at 8.45am. Booking, eye test all done and dusted. The security late at the front door was a bit silly and kept confusing people in where to stand. Other than that, it was all good

I’ve been having sleepless nights about my Drivers License that’s due to expire in August 2021.Being an ex-Gautenger and having been through the trauma of standing in the sun at the Centurion Licensing Department for a whole day, only to be told at the end that the system is offline or that they have reached their quota for the day and you must come back the next day; I was not looking forward to this trip.I spent hours researching which Licensing Department to go to in Cape Town now that I live here.After reading (mostly) good reviews on Milnerton Licensing Department I decided that’s the one I’ll go to.I arrived there this morning at 07:45 and was probably #12 in the que.They started taking the first group of people in at 07:55.*Please note that due to COVID-19 they only take a certain amount of people into the building at a time.I’m very pleased to say that I left the building at 09:05. Done and dusted!All in all a very pleasant experience and would recommend this branch over and over.Well done team at Milnerton Licensing Department and City of Cape Town!

Reviewed my drivers last week at Milnerton Traffic Department. Arrived at 06:50am the morning to wait in the queue. Strict COVID-19 protocols in place. Prompt service at 08:00am sharp, all 5 counters were opened. I left around 08:50am. Very clean, neat and professional staff. Definitely the best traffic department in Cape Town! Phenomenal experience!

Absolutely appaling service. From long lines to incompetent staff. Went there for my leaners license only for them to advise I have a booking which I knew nothing about. Then it was an error on their side.. they could not rectify cause of their systems. I was promised a callback but nothing. I called them only to get Civic Center in Town on the number listed online. Still to date no feedback, no date, no rectifying whereas I have already paid.

Probably one of the best Departments in the country. Get there early, have all your required documents, be respectful and youll be in and out of there in no time. Whether its Vehicle or Drivers Licensing that needs to be renewed or test bookings, the whole process shouldnt take more than 15 minutes.

Unbelievable... 20 minutes from the moment I parked till I departed, to renew my drivers license. This included security, having temperature taken and sanitising, signing in, getting the form and completing it, having the eye test done and my picture taken, and paying. Really amazing service. Why not 5? The attitude of the security lady didnt impress me... sitting outside chatting to her friends and letting me walk right past her before almost shouting at me can I help you sêr. She should be on her post and make you feel welcome since this is the first person you encounter when youre faced to do something that you dont really look forward to doing. As for the staff inside ... 100%

Its not often that you have a good experience at a licensing department, purely because the wait is so frustrating and then everything there after frustrates you.Although I waited 1.5 hours, and given the situation SA is in with all the renewal backlog, thats REALLY not long. Once inside there was a clear direction of who goes where and it was incredibly well organised. Everyone that I dealt with (temperature check, then enquiries, then eye test and payment) were all friendly and helpful.Thank you for great service!

I think the service I received this morning was fantastic. Friendly staff directing people and adhering to social distancing. Arrived early and queued, but opened at 08:00 and entire process was done in just over an hour. Most of the delays are not due to the staff, but rather people arriving without the required documentation/photos. Well done!

During this lockdown the lines have been long and outside the the build. I was in line and forgot a document, while waiting for the document to arrive I got to the front of the line, I told the guy guiding the line (shortish guy with glasses the Line Master) that Im just waiting for someone and that he could let the other people behind me go ahead. He said no I have to go back to the back of the line. Ridiculous! never heard of this rule before. Is this 2021 new rules?

With covid-19 hanging over our heads Im very hesitant to go anywhere let alone a government building but I must say these people are really on the ball with social distancing and sanitation. Add that with a speedy service and you have a very stress free experience. Staff are also very helpful and professional.

Covers strict covid protocols while being efficient as possible. Some days they arent as organised as others, which causes longer queueing times. But on my second second day of making an appointment here, they asked me if an elderly man which a crutch could go past me to the front. Not only were they dealing with elderly citizens correctly, they were respecting the people in line too.

My mother and I had the immense displeasure of visiting the Milnerton Traffic Department on the 21st of February 2021. My mother had to deregister her motor car which has been stolen and I had to renew my car registration. We were admitted and queued for about 30 mins before being served. On arrival at the counter my mother was told that she had completed the wrong form and was told to go to the counter and complete the correct form and then re join the queue which we did. On completing the correct form we re joined the front of the queue however when we got to the front of the counter, we were turned away and told to go to the BACK of the queue! Bearing in mind that my mother is 77 years old and should have been allowed to be served ASAP as a retiree, I was quite SHOCKED!But we joined the back of the queue which was now really long and queued for another hour and a half! On reaching the counter, I went to register my car but was turned away as I was not FICA registered and had no means to produce the requested documents. At that stage I was frustrated and left the offices to stand at the entrance! My mother was then also turned away due to another incorrect document issue! So after spending two and a half hours in the traffic department we had achieved absolutely nothing! I mentioned to the security guard that I was somewhat frustrated at fact that we had not been served and our issues could not be attended at which stage I was told to leave the building....We attended the Pinelands offices today and my mother was allowed in as a priority due to her age and we managed to attend to all the issues... after the horrendous experience at Milnerton, all I can say is THANK YOU to Pinelands!

The overall service for learner registration was quite pleasant, except for when I got to the cashier.I asked, do you recommend buying the K53 handbook by the petro station?She replied with a sassy tone by saying she doesnt know and she had already done her exam(I assume its her school-leave exam).The funny thing is she probably scored low so thats how she ended up working there😂
