Make sure you go there on appointment and you cancel any plans you may have made for the day. Officially opens at 9:30am but maybe opened at 10am and the process itself is rather long. And make sure you have all your documents, you dont want to do this twice!!

Even though there are long and confused queues in the mornings, I was surprised that by 3PM almost everyone was served. Thanks to the good work the staff is doing at the Consulate especially in such times of COVID 19. God keep them and protect them in Jesus Mighty Name!

I took my mother, a senior citizen, to apply for a passport. The staff at the consulate immediately expedited her paperwork and were helpful in all aspects of the process. I highly commend them in the level of service given. Keep it up!

They explained well what needed to be done and how to fill in the forms, my dislike is everyone is given the same time appointment. No tickets or number cards to say who gets to go Inn first hence people end up fighting to go in first.Its not fair because some would have arrived very early and waited only to be pushed out by the late comers.
It was good everything was nice only after we filled all passport forms time to submit takes long.The guy who takes finger prints is fast and good
The lady at the reception is unprofessional she should be respectful to other people and the waiting time is too much and unnecessary if the submission could be done online it should be helpful
There is no order they need to improve on the appointment and time at least they must have a checklist at the entrance checking appointment date and time

On the website they dont provide info on how to cancel a passport. I went there and i wasnt helped because i had to make an appointment first and there were a few people. The phones just ring they dont answer thats why I decided to go and only to be told i must book first.

The staff are helpful, if you really want information though, the gaurds at the gates are actually the quickest and easiest way. They definitely do a great job.Unfortunately the system back in Zim lets the team down.

Zimbabwe has come to South Africa i feel very safe when i am here and they answer any question you might have about getting documents from Zimbabwe and applying whilst you are still in South Africa

I had a very pathetic experience with these people today. One the service was super slow because the guys serve one person and go on whatsapp and chat and then attend to the next person, thats very unprofessional and uproductive. Two I brought my passport photos taken by a professional who has a big shop at Cape gate and only to be told that the background at the photos is not that white rather use the photographer who is outside, meaning their own photographer who drives and park outside the consulate and charges R5 to photocopy I page. Three after all the chaotic process I was told just wait for your childs birth certificate to be signed, I waited from 11am until 1pm when they told me we are going for lunch. Now Im going to drive back to the consulate a distance of 50km just to get a simple signature that takes 2 seconds to sign and its now taking at least 48 hours if I manage to get it tomorrow. Im very cross with the way Zimbos treat fellow Zimbos. There are tables inside but people were not allowed to complete forms on those tables, we were told to go and do that outside where temperatures were super freezing leaving an unoccupied table and chairs.Cry my beloved country cry.

Good Day..I called the consulate on the 4th of Jan 2016 12:35pm. wanting to gather information on how to apply for a Zim ID . The response from the lady who is supposedly in charge was disgusting as she did not help at all no information was given all she gave me was I must go and ask my mother how to apply (considering my mum applied for this ID more than 20years ago and considering the rules and regulation always change with time), and she went on to say she cannot stay on the phone because she has other people to help what sort of response is this. if our own consulate will not give us information who must we turn to since we are far away from home, i had hoped that is why there is a consulate in South Africa to make life easy. This sort of behavior is not acceptable at all and just saying I am dissapointed is an understatement. If the people who are in charge do not even know how to communicate and help clients how would they expect the people under them to operate. I am disgusted by the attitude and behavior of this woman totally unacceptable......
Generally okay and not too busy. If you get here and the guy who signs papers is in a meeting then add 2hours to your waiting time
