My mother has been trying to get a statement from 2018 for over a couple of weeks now. As she has a television that needs to be repaired however no one has provided her with the statement yet to be able to send it in for repairs...This is us constantly calling the call center and yes they helpful however no email has been received as yet

I fell into arrears of 1 month in my account. My first arrears in 5 years of having the account and Im receiving non stop calls as if I am a bad creditor. I have followed instructions by emailing the relevant department with my unemployment papers yet still Im being called day in and out with harassing calls. When will someone respond to my email for my insurance claim?Completely dissatisfied with Game/RCS with the way they handle their customers when their customers need them most. If I can receive so many calls a day about asking for immediate payment why can I not get 1 decent call asking to assist me.

Absolutely poor customer service when it comes to resolving issues electrinically. I have emailed RCS numerous times to sort out an account query because they are incorrectly billing me for my monthly repayements and I still have no response. They took my details and never got back to me and when I posted on Hello peter about this, they responded saying my issue has been escalated. i think RCS just says this to appease angry customers because they have yet to respond to me with feedback.

On July 10, I accidentally paid the amount of R255k into my husbands RCS card which had a R0 balance. From July 10 I called you and every day thereafter until it was confirmed the money is in the card. Just to hear that it will take up to 14 business days to transfer MY money back. You must do an investigation first. What do you want to investigate ??? I sent you all the proof of where the money came from and how I transferred it to my husbands RCS account. I had to sell my car for financial reasons, but unfortunately, I made the mistake of transferring the money to the wrong account. Your call center people are pathetic, on purpose, by not helping me. I am now going to lodge a formal complaint with the ombudsman, and I am also going to send an email to Charmaine Lombaard who is the Key Individual of RCS and also the Reps Lameza Du Toit and Dielshaad Sofejan. This is unacceptable. I want my money back in my account by the latest Wednesday 21 July.Regards

Avoid this company at all cost. I have been trying for months to access my account and always get the message that they are either off-line or I have exceeded my login attempts. When you eventually get thru to their call center they inform you that they waiting for the system issues to be resolved. Ill use this company as a case study in my own work on how not to treat your customers - useless!!!!! Also, they are in breach of PPI (Protection of Personal Information). Once or twice when I managed to login in to my Makro account last year I was presented with details of someone with a Game account. I dont have a Game account. I have reported this to Makro!

I had a 12 months account with them. I was retrenched and I was not assisted with the promised 12 months of paying my account. Instead, the call center is calling me continuously, I asked to speak to a manager with no success. Today I was called 9 times. The associate informed me she will call again and again do I am billed for it, even tho I am unemployed. 9 calls and each time I answer theres silence for 5 seconds then they hang up. This is harassment! The world need to know

Since RCS took over the Edcon accounts my debit order has been removed from my account, I have been provided with incomplete banking details for payment, and I have been harassed and threatened for three months. I have spoken to 20 different support consultants, all of which promised to either reinstate my debit order, provide me with the complete banking details including the correct beneficiary, and most recently to provide me with my settlement amount. For three weeks now I have been unable to get a settlement amount from 4 different RCS support consultants, and on Friday I was told that it is going to take a very long time to get this for me, and that they could not provide me with a timeline! This is the most pathetic display of inadequicy from a financial service provider I have ever seen in my life. FSPs have certain standards that they have to adhere to accoring to law! Wake up RCS! Pathetic, pathetic, pathetic! I have seen multiple complaints from others online about RCSs underwhelming service levels. Your customers, nay victoms, deserve better.

DO NOT OPEN AN ACCOUNT WITH THIS COMPANY!!!The consistent unhelpful service i receive from this company is ridiculous!No means of dealing with this company other than telephonically.The voice prompts have no benefit as you end up being passed around to other consultants like a joint in a hippie camp!You finally reach someone and they cannot assist you.All you get told to do is send an email to multiple email addresses and yet you are never called back or assisted with what you need.This company is an absolute joke and i am so glad i am not in a position where i need their services.Rather lend money from a loan shark than this company.

Shocking service from RCS group. I have credit notes that have not been processed on my Edgars account. E-mailed, phoned to no avail. But they do send SMSs about every second day requesting payment for my outstanding account. - WHICH IS THE CREDIT NOTES AMOUNT!Phoned all the different numbers multiple times. Either they dont answer, (holding for 20-30 minutes at a time - costing me huge amounts of money in telephone bills) transfer you to a different department and no one answers, give you numbers to phone that is not used anymore, or the best one of all, start talking to you, make as if they cant hear you, and put the phone down. E-mailed credit notes to different e-mail addresses as well, hoping for a response, but again, nothing.

This should -5 stars. Struggle since August to get my account at Edgars/RCS closed. So after I cleaned my account, I now owe almost R200 again. Got numerous sms about amount due immediately even though Edgars/RCS promised they will close my account. So I talked to a few finance people, and they reckon RCS is using this transition phase at Edgars as a way to move money around. I for one CANNOT understand how hard it can be to just close some ones account if you literally have all of the persons details. Daylight robbery from this company. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS CORP.

For over 3 months, RCS credit insurance assessors has been assesing my claim. They have made no contact with me. I have to phone them all the time to find out what is happening. The matter has been escalated numerous times, but to no avail. When I asked to speak to the manager or supervisor, I was told they HIBERNATING and I cant speak to the superior. I phoned in again and another supervisor said they dont want to talk to me because what more do I want to hear? Everytime I phone in, I feel like I am a criminal. Does it take always almost 4 months to process a insurance claim?

😡😡😡I have received nothing but terrible service from RCS GroupI have been struggling for more than 3 months to solve an issue. I have sent numerous emails of which only the fist one got an unhelpful reply and all the others just gets a automated reply saying that I will get a reply in 48 hours but no luck at all.For some reason my debit orders just stopped going off with no reason and no warning at all. I only realised that my account is in default months after when I went to check my credit score. That has caused me to suffer from a bad credit score hand caused me to be in deep debt because of all the penalties that was charged to my account.When I released this I wanted to settle my account and pay the full payment. But when I called RCS group they said that I dont hold a account with them any more. This didnt make sense at all because I have the card and it clearly says RCS Group on my credit score. With alot of struggle I managed to find out that RCS Group handed my account over to a different cumpony without my knowledge.They gave me a number of the cumpony that my account was handed over to. And I managed to get ahold of them and payed the amount that they said I have to pay to settle my account once and for all..So I did and actiosly went to check my credit score end of that month only to see that Im just deeper in dept in that account. I called the same number again and they said that x amount of rand is still due. So I paid that and two days later phoned them again asking if it finally is settled. They made it clear over the phone that my account is settled and I dont owe a cent on my account any more.I had to travel to Spain later in that month. And end of that month my credit score is still in default because of my RCS Group account 🤒 and saying that I still owe money.... I have been trying to communicate with RCS Group via email since its going to cost way to much to try and call them from Spain. But they werent able to come back to me with a helpful email in the last 19 days of this month.I hope you RCS Group will help me solve this problem before the end of this month. Before it will cost me another month of a bad credit score that will negatively effect all my work and loans for at least the next two years...If its not solved by the end of this month then I will have my legal team take further actions to get all the money back that I have lost because of your treble service and system. Also for the negative effect it has on my credit score and every money that I could have made if I had the good credit score that I had before RCS Group make it go down the drain.RegardsDaniël Huysamen

I have had a query outstanding with RCS since 2 August 2019. I have been in communication with numerous consultants from various departments regarding the query at hand with non-existent to very little assistance. No one at your contact centre ever follows up on queries, your own SLAs are not adhered to by your own employees, superiors/managers seem to either, never be around to handle escalations or never know how to effectively assist me.I am absolutely appalled at the sub-standard service I have received from a financial services provider such as yours. For the first in all my years dealing with a financial services provider have I ever been asked to provide a clients bank statement, further to a proof of payment when attempting to verify the payment. Is this even a legal requirement? Nonetheless, because I am desperate to have this matter resolved, I requested this requirement from my client and sent it to your consultants. I have received no feedback about how far along the query resolution this is. After insisting on being given telephone numbers to contact the teams to which my query has been escalated, managers either are reluctant or dont know and eventually, when I push long enough it would seem a random number is given just to get me off the phone.I want access to my money immediately after which I will close this account because I have never experienced such disregard, disrespect, and disdain any one company can have for their clients. I have seen numerous complaints from clients of yours that are as frustrated as I am because of the sheer lack of accountability and responsibility your employees have proudly illustrated. Now, I am not sure if this is the true nature of your organization or a few rotten lot but either way, I do not care to find out as more than a bitter taste has been left in my mouth from my experiences with RCS.I am now consulting with a representative at the financial ombudsman as well as a legal representative on a way to hold RCS to account for this poorly managed situation, which, if you care to Google will show is not an isolated one.As much as I hope not to engage in an even longer drawn out battle with RCS on this query, I am more than willing to do so because it seems you do not appreciate and respect your clients at a very basic human level and you may need to be reminded of who exactly keeps you in business.

RCS has employed consultants who are supposed to handle the Edgars take over. They are uninformed. They cannot think outside the box. As soon as you ask a question for which they do not have an answer they put the phone down whlle the customer is still talking to them.Extremely rude. They phone all hours and send sms messages after hours. I am going to report RCS for not acting according to the Consumer Protection Act. You want to ambush Edgars clients and load accounts with insurance premiums for which customers did not agree or have signed for.It seems like RCS has gone into the history of clients of 10byears ago and expect those clients to prove that their account has a zero balance. According to financial law clients do not have to keep slips for 10 years plus.On top if that you threaten clients like me on a Sunday morning for immediate payment. I have all the prove that I owe nothing. When I ask when are you going to stop phoning. I was told we will keep on phoning until you pay.Next port of call is the Ombudsman. RCS is not applying the principles instilled by the Consumer Protection Act. Your consultants indicate that we are all fraudsters. Which I am not. I have a cristal clear credit record.

- This morning my partner received a series of calls from the RCS Group.- This is a debt collection service, and the calls were received from this number: +27 (10) 065 0040.- My partner was engaged in an online meeting at the time, so I answered these calls each time, on their behalf.- I think I began: Hello, this is [my partners name] phone. Youre speaking to Koko... and then the caller would hang up each time, without a word.- This disruptive calling and then hanging-up with no word continued, until I decided to call back.- When I called back at 09h32 this morning, I discovered that the calls were being made by this debt-collections agency, RCS Group.- The consultant whom I spoke with identified themself as [Agent Name], and then told me that they were looking to speak to my wife.- When I politely tried to correct their misgendering of my partner, they laughed at me disparagingly and continued to use the word wife with reference to my partner, in malice.- I found out later, from my partner, that we do in fact owe Pick n Pay R500. Apparently, they had planned on settling this amount on Friday, 25 September 2020 (their salary date).- However, I do not believe that owing someone a little money entitles their debt collector to call and hang up incessantly, nor does it give that debt collector the right to allow their personal prejudices to get the better of them and bully families in their homes without censure.- I composed myself as much as I could during this abuse - a painful defence mechanism, I guess, that a lot of humans in the LGBTQ community develop after having to tolerate such abuse on a daily basis in this country.- I then requested a recording of the phone call.- The agent told me that I must use this email address to request a recording: [email protected] However, when I sent the request (please see trailing emails below), our mail server returned this error message: -- Recipient email address is possibly incorrect- I called RCS again, and had to speak to my bully, [Agent Name], again - explaining the error that I had encountered.- The agent then informed me that their supervisor would be in touch with me with the requested recording.- The incessant calls with no answer continued, and so I had to call back to find out how we can stop this from happening.- I had to speak to my bully again, who explained that they had no control over outbound calls.- Apparently outbound calls at RCS are made automatically, and then a random consultant/agent is supposed to engage with the recipient of the call, as soon as one picks up.- After several hours, I received no word from the agent, or the supervisor that was allegedly going to contact us about the recording that I had requested.- When a called a few moments ago to follow up, I was placed on hold for about 10 minutes, until my phone ran out of airtime.- I then decided to write this complaint to the Ombudsman, so that I could put this matter out of my conscience, and then try to enjoy a more positive experience of the rest of this day with my family.The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice.- Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.Thank you for reading this complaint, and please let me know if there is anything I can do to warn other families about companies like this.

HORRIBLE CROOKSSo my R3000 payment has not been allocated to my account although I sent them proof of payment plus all other required documents!! Now, after 2 months of begging, calling, social media, emailing over 30times!! Now they want a different proof of payment, one that will require my 70 year old father to go into the bank, ALTHOUGH he has been remaining at home to NOT get the virus. And I PLEADED with them and THEY JUST DO NOT CARE. They have all documents, the proof of payment with my account number on but they have kept R3000 that was supposed to alleviate my monthly installment for me since April. STAY AWAY FROM RCS. They are crooks and will cheat you if they can.

He is not the only one.Your website and documentation clearly states how easy it is supposed to be to activate your card - but its literally been more than 7 days to actually get this card working - super disappointed and I wish someone would just assist to resolve the issues.Also, no one responds to emails, really terrible!!Regards

They are very fast and pushy to get you to sign up. Once you are signed up, you pay extremely high interest and account fees and they make it impossible for you to close your account. You need to pay an additional fee to close your account, and the process as a real headache! I would not recommend

I have called over 10 times to cancel my account. I have settled it in full. I get transferred to the so called department that does the cancelling and no one answers the phone, after holding on for ages each time. It seems like once you have an RCS card, you cannot cancel it, they go out of their way to ignore you and avoid you. The most annoying company to try and get answers from when you call them . The call centre people cant answer any questions they just say ill transfer you and thats it, they dont answer again, done on purpose id say !!

Bunch of thieves. I cancelled my subscription, paid the balance and then they continued to debit my account. And the useless agent did not even cancel the account after the ridiculously long cancellation period of over 4 weeks...Im expected to wait again. And i chase by email and phone, and now im being ignored. Pathetic customer service, you should fire youre staff and start again. Better yet, you should be taken to court for fraud and theft. The interest rates and fees are daylight robbery, not to mention the false advertising used to get people to sign up. Avoid taking out any credit from RCS Group. Disgusting.Update this morning - the account is still not cancelled. I cancelled in April, and its still not cnacelled.

Paid my account in store, Im later told by RCS that there is still a settlement amount which does not reflect in store and RCS keep charging monthly.Once again I made a call through and they cannot give me the settlement amount but interest will still be charged even though their own call centre do not have the amounts. RCS cards are not worth having, you will end up paying more in charges and interest than any other store card. RCS are nothing but money makers.

In March of 2019 I received a call from RCS offering me a credit limit on my existing card. I accepted the increase, pending me sending my 3 months bank statements and relevant documents. This was emailed to them, with an automated reply saying they have received my mail, and will get back to me within 48 hours. I heard nothing back from them.By August, I thought Id phone the customer services (I was on hold for 2 hours!), and when I finally got to speak to the operator, she said they didnt receive my email. I told her which date I sent it, and she went looking on the system and found it. She said it had expired and I had to do the limit increase check with her again. I did so, and had to resend new bank statements. She received it, and said I will know within 48 hours (it has already been pre-aprroved).28 phonecalls to them later - NOTHING HAS HAPPENED. Every single operator tells me its with their supervisor, I would know within an hour. Nothing.I seriously dont know what to do anymore. This company is quick to send out invoices, but their customer services are non existent.I am seriously contemplating closing my account now.

When you do not go threw to them they add money to your account that has already been paid fully. BUT I CAN NOT TALK TO THEM! Firstly - When I paid too much they sent me a letter to say my account was a NIL balance when I knew I had a credit. DONT ever pay too much on your account and have a credit- You cannot get your money back and then each month they take off R27.00 - Off your credit to pay for an admin fee. I wanted to close my Game account but over paid by R253.00. When I received my statement showing the credit there was an amount deducted and the customer service person told me that I will get charged interest on my credit. I have been struggling to get my credit from them and each month they deduct more from my credit - I am now down to R155.00 - THE WORST EVER - I would not even rate one star - but cannot post without a rate - - ****

On Sunday 23 July 2017 I purchased an item at Poetry Cradlestone. Due to an administrative error the transaction for R 499.00 was processed twice. The first transaction was charged to the card at 12h11 and the second at 12h25. Two transactions for the same amount was charged from the same vendor within 14 minutes.RCS did not red flag the duplicated transaction and did not inquire or contact me to notify me of a possible double charge. They simply accepted the transactions and as per their usual modus operandi continue to charge interest.On Friday 28 July 2017 I went to Cape Union Mart in Clearwater Mall to check the account balance in order to settle the outstanding amount and close the account. The balance given to me included the duplicated transaction and it (the duplicated transaction) was clearly not reversed.I spoke to Prudence de Villiers from RCS and she indicated that the store (Poetry Cradlestone Mall) should have sent an e-mail notifying RCS of the duplication and then requesting the reversal.I then spoke to the manager at Poetry Cradlestone Mall (Victoria) and she indicated to me she would notify RCS and get them to reverse the charge.On Monday 07 August 2017 I contacted RCS (Cape Union Mart Card) and the lady I spoke to confirmed that the reversal had still not been done. I then drove )once again) to Cradlestone Mall and spoke to Victoria at Poetry. She then called RCS and spoke to an incompetent consultant named Emmanuel.Emmanuel informed us (the call was on speaker) that it would take a further three days to reverse the charge. I demanded to speak to a supervisor. Emmanuel first said that no supervisors were available to assist. Eventually he came back with a story that a supervisor would contact me. I told him in no uncertain terms that this vague story was not good enough and that I wanted to speak to a supervisor immediately.Emmanuel once again put me on hold and eventually tole me that the supervisor would call me within 2 hours. The time he told me this was 14h05 and I told him that the deadline for the call would then be 16h05 on Monday 07 August 2017 in South Africa.Needless to say 16h05 arrived and no contact was made by RCS. It is now Thursday 10 August 2017 and still no contact has been made by RCS.RCS have now been charging me interest since 23 August 2017 on three transactions. One transaction was the legitimate transaction for R 499.00 done by Poetry. I done a second legitimate transaction at Cape Union Mart to the value of R 699.00. They are also charging me interest for a duplicated transaction for R 499.00 at Poetry.RCS does not look after their clients at all. Surely two transactions from the same merchant for an identical amount occurring fourteen minutes apart would raise a red flag. Surely they would contact the customer to confirm if it was duplicated.Surely they would be true to their word and reverse the duplicated transaction within their specified two day turnaround period? It is now closing in on three weeks since the matter had occurred and still no resolution is evident.Surely a consultant and supervisor should be held accountable when they lie to a client? They both lied, or the consultant made up a story and lied to me.Bottom line is RCS is a rip off. They rip clients off and their service and customer care is nothing but urine impoverished bovine faecal matter. They do not operate with any type of integrity. They employ liars and cowards who do not keep their word.I called the call center on Friday 11 August 2017 and spoke to Quanita. She confirmed that the duplicated transaction had still not been reversed. Further proof of the lack of credibility and accountability being presented to the clients by Cape Union Mart Card administered by RCS.These fools do not deserve a rating at all.Kindly advise on other legal avenues best to pursue this matter further as this is clearly now a criminal matter. RCS is blatantly stealing now.
