Definitely one of the best. I took my two children to her, having struggled with eczema for a long time. It didnt take long to see positive results. The bonus is that she is really warm and caring, she is good with children, too. Highly recommended.

She is a welcoming and very empathic doctor. She took her time to explain my skin condition and further took time to explain the list of medications and what are their use, and possible side effects. she took her time and made it about me. she answered all my questions. and made me feel reassured. i highly recommend her.

This doctor helped my sister with eczema, got it on the first go after so many had failed. Have just consulted her regarding my acne, never have I felt as such ease. She understood my issue before I even opened my month. Cant wait to see the result she will produce once again.

Dr Mathobela has changed my life! I have been with he for almost two years and my skin has never looked better. Im not even breaking out anymore. I love her. I will really recommend her to everybody! She hears you, listens and helps you in the way that you request it. She is a life saver!

Be cautious when going to the doctor.She was very unprofessional in the way she received my information.I said I dont want a certain product and then she laughed it off and still prescribed it to me.The real kicker is she said that computer screens makes your skin age drastically faster and prescribed me sun block. THIS IS A LIEThe is no substantial evidence to support this.Made me question her competency.

Excellent & caring service.She took time to explain what my condition was & the available treatment solutions. I was able to get treated on day one & only had to come back for a check up. I had an amazing consultation experience with Dr. Mathobela compared to a previous dermatologist Ive seen a while back.Making the appointment - the process was very professional, from responding promptly to my emails to ensuring I had the write appointment details a day before including address.The consultation - Dr. Mathobela was very patient with me (my questions, listening to every issue & solution I had tried to ridding my adult acne) and she answered every question thoroughly. She made me feel very comfortable and extremely satisfied with her service.The receptionist was just too awesome - such a great team work they have!I look forward to seeing the results!!:)And would definitely recommend her to friends, family & strangers!:)

She is ELITE. The consultation itself was very warm and accommodating, with a great rapport and more than ample time to state exactly what the issues were so she could diagnose and assist accordingly, as opposed to being rushed and giving a generic diagnosis and treatment plan. She also provided a catalogue of the prescribed medications and alternatives as opposed to compelling you to purchase through her dispensary. The recommended regimen was thoroughly explained and her affordable pricing means follow-up consultations are not too onerous. Having visited other dermatologists listed here I would definitely shes the best.

I was a case of adult onset acne and had tried a lot of cosmetic products . I spent a fortune trying to get my skin on point. One day I woke up with a flare of acne and I decided that was it. One of my friends had used dr Mathobela and I decided to consult her. She is such a friendly lady and she knew exactly what I was there for before I could explain my problem. She explained in no technical terms why I was getting acne now and she prescribed meds. In about a month I could see the change in my skin. Its almost a year now and I have visited her about 3 times and I can safely say I am spotless, no pimple whatsoever and my skin glows. I am confident walking around with no make up. Dr Mathobela was really lovely and informed, I would give her 5 stars. However her admin/reception lady made me drop the stars to 3 due to the terrible service I received from her. When I called to make my appointment I was told that it would cost R550 which I would have to pay up front. A few days later I received an email from my medical aid to say that they are paying a claim of R403.50 for my consultation. When I queried this with the admin lady at the doctors office, she told me that the R550 was not the full cost (which I was never informed of). I have never heard of any doctor charging you and the medical aid separately, it seems sneaky to me. Either you pay the full consultation up front and claim from your medical aid or they claim from the medical aid and get the balance from you. When I called on the Friday afternoon just be 5pm (when they close) to query the matter, the admin lady was already on a taxi to go home and told me to call back on Monday as she couldnt hear me. When the doctor told me that I have to see her again in three months, I told the admin lady that I need to make another appointment and said Id like to see the doctor on a Saturday at 9am, she asked me if I dont rather want to move my appointment to 10am as she would like to sleep in. It was a completely unpleasant experience dealing with her, especially since she misinformed me of the cost. I advise anyone who would like to consult with Dr Mathobela to thoroughly query all costs involved before making an appointment before you get a nasty surprise like I did. Also good luck dealing with her admin/receptionist!Im writing this after a second appointment with the doctor 3 months after 1st visit, she is still great. The reception lady is also much better and more professional. They called me after i posted the review to resolve the matter and took steps to fix the problem. No issues as of my second visit. I now pay the full amount upfront and then claim from my medical aid myself to avoid any confusion.

Growing up I thought skin tags were something that old people inevitably have to live with, and theres nothing that can be done about that! And then I met with Dr Mathobela, who painstakingly removed every skin tag from my neck - seemed like hundreds! - to reveal a neck that I thought Id never see again! I also got lots of great general advice about caring for my skin. I have recommended her to many of my friends who, like me, are ladies of a certain age! And some younger people who have similar issues. Thank you Dr. Mathobela. I think of you as my brown skin dermatologist!

I have canceled my following up appointment with Dr Mathobela and I will NEVER go there again.They are not allowed to do this, no where did I receive a consultation fee notification of R923.60. I honestly see this as stealing and will be talking to my lawyer regarding the situation.

I have to been to a few doctors and I had never received such great respectful treatment from most doctors until I went to see Dr Mathobela. I was made to feel comfortable from the reception area. The doctor treated my acne so well and I could see resulsts within a few days. She took time to explain the condition to me and also made follow ups which I appreciated. She is professional but yet friendly and approachable. I would recommend Dr Mathobela as a dermatologist to anyone with a skin condition

Having recently moved to the Western Cape its always difficult to know without personal recommendation who is a reputable and good medical practitioner, after reading the reviews I decided upon visiting Dr Mathobela, and how glad I am that I did. She is incredibly competent and knowledgable and took the time to discuss in-depth about my condition and proposed treatment plan. I would definitely recommend Dr Mathobela if you are looking for a dermatologist.

The receptionist or the person taking calls for the doctor is not professional at all. She coughs into my ear and answer cellphones whilst Im asking question about the services rendered there.

I first walked in the doctors offices in January after battling with acne, blemishes and a fine rash on my skin. I had tried everything suggested over the years none worked. I was getting frustrated because I’m way over the puberty stage and at this age the last thing I wanted to worry about was skin problems. Firstly my experience when I called to set my appointment was very pleasant the lady that answered the phone spoke very kindly and professionally. And finally when I met Dr Matete I was very happy she is so kind and shows interest and attention and very patient as I can become a blabber mouth. She put me on a 3 month program, needless to say when I went back for my follow up appointment 3 months later all my acne and rash was gone, she then put me on further topical creams to get rid of blemishes, I was also worried when I went there for my follow because my blemishes were taking longer to fade and I was approaching my wedding day she then suggested that we also start with chemical peels which we did right in the spot. My improvement was extreme just a week after the peels and the creams, and I looked very beautiful for my wedding last week(12 May)...my blemishes continue to fade at a rapid speed and cannot wait for my second peel.
