Easily one of my favorite coffee experiences in Cape Town. The space is small and peaceful with quite a few lovely half shaded or full shaded areas to sit and relax. You have so much choice when it comes to choosing what kind of coffee youd like to try and youll definitely have to come more than once to try all the coffee and decide on your favorites. Whether you want to try a cup with bright flavors, low acidity or an incredibly smooth finish youll definitely find something you like. Paul roasts all the beans on site which ensures that youll always have an insanely freshly brewed coffee. If you have not checked out this coffee spot yet Id highly recommend you put it on your list.

Most delicious coffee with many options all roasted on-site. A range of gluten free and free-range eats to add to the experience of enjoying a coffee in a unique spot. Enjoy a sit down or take-away but be sure to pop in either way. Rewards for bringing your own cup to help ensure we keep our environment clean.

This coffee shop is a little bit of heaven... The coffee is superb, the service is better. This is not a restaurant, but you will find temptations like New York Cheesecake, carrot cake and other gluten-free creations there. Everything is made with love and dedication. I love coffee and this is the best coffee... Do try the Rapcha coffee... I had a gluten-free chicken pie and New York Cheesecake... Really superb!

Little tucked away fairy tale. When you step into this place, you walk straight into magic. The furniture is made with the owners hands, who is aks most always there, roasting the beans to perfection or chatting to the customers, who all quickly become regulars. There is no WiFi so you won’t see beads buried in the screens, there’s no alcohol, so nobody will be loud or annoying, instead you will find a poet coming every way with his notes and a dog, sitting under the tall tree looking for an inspiration, or a city dreamers trying to get away from the noise of the city. Coffee is delicious, so as desserts and the food snoek pie. My personal favorite is red cappuccino, I don’t know the place that can make it better. One more thing which not everyone might notice is the book hanging around on the tables, which turns out to be written by the over of the coffee shop. Book tells about his life for several years in a bushman tribe in Kalahari desert and the entire experience of leaving the civilization behind. So that man has got stories to tell to any curious ears. Can’t get enough of this place.

I do not take coffee reviews lightly, and like to think that the creators of the gods sweet nectar are as dedicated to their craft - sadly, finding that passion throughout the entire growing to brewing process is rare. That is why I am so grateful to have the pleasure of visiting Houtbay Coffee, giving me one of the few insights into the minds of those who are as passionate and as dedicated as it takes to make, repeatedly, an unforgettable cup of coffee.

I looked forward to coming here after a personal recommendation but found the shop stressful.Good coffee and delicious but expensive snacks, jams etc. Ask for one shot if you dont like your coffee too strong.
